Chapter 842: 841. Good fire and theft prevention makes it easy to live.

Lu Ban replied to Qin Tiantian’s WeChat ssage and then looked at the tree again.

He hadn’t expected it to grow so fast—in just one day, the Divine Sakura had transford from a seed into a towering giant tree.

It must be because of the power of the Ancient Overlord that resided in Jiangcheng Mountain.

He felt fortunate that he had previously secured the developnt rights for Jiangcheng Mountain because it housed the Ancient Overlord’s seal; it made him the nominal owner of the land, otherwise managing anything with such a huge tree would have been quite tough.

However, for so reason, either because it wasn’t yet ti or due to so other reason, the tree hadn’t flowered.

Lu Ban walked over to the tree and placed his hand on its trunk.

Countless words appeared.

“[With pollution as nourishnt, this tree can absorb most pollutants, simple and easy to use]”

“[Fireproof, theft-proof, no need for watering, easy to maintain]”

“[Under normal conditions it doesn’t cause any serious environntal issues, but it can’t be guaranteed completely harmless]”

“[Recomnded to pair with so spirits for more beautiful blossoms]”

“[Doesn’t accept any form of worship, please do not kneel before it]”

“So, it must contain spirits to bloom?”

Lu Ban was a bit surprised.

But since he had nowhere to find a spirit to infuse into it, he could only let the verdant tree provide so shade and add a touch of coolness to Jiangcheng Mountain.

He was still contemplating how to combine the Divine Sakura with “Morning Star” to create another Magic Network, when he saw a few people with caras live streaming.

“…This tree drew out the essence of our Saintess and took root on Jiangcheng Mountain, growing overnight; its ergence marks a step closer to the awakening of our Saintess…”

The woman, dressed in white and resembling so sort of religious figure, was live streaming; Lu Ban listened for a while, and it seed like this foreign organization was broadcasting about the Divine Sakura.

They claid that the tree was planted by their deity and were fervently explaining it.

Lu Ban usually wouldn’t have cared about such matters.

There were many strange organizations in the world that, upon encountering scientifically inexplicable phenona, would claim responsibility to expand their influence, recruit followers, and make a profit.

He heard that so organizations that collected money from followers would return all of it, appearing very generous, but in reality, they were fishing for bigger contributions—from the initial thousands returned, followers would donate tens or even hundreds of thousands.

This organization likely had caught wind of the situation and ca over to ride the hype.

However, having read the description of the Divine Sakura which stated not to kneel before it, although unclear about what exactly would happen, Lu Ban thought it better to advise them since it was ntioned not to accept any form of worship.

He approached the people live streaming.

Li Chunzai, who was watching the live stream on a computer, noticed Lu Ban.

He was a recent university graduate from a country fond of kimchi; his entire family were followers of this organization. The mont this enormous tree appeared in Jiangcheng, he imdiately thought of the Saintess he worshiped.

Such a spectacle, such a magnificent sight, how could it not be the work of a deity!

He felt even more convinced.

But in the live stream, a man suddenly interrupted the preacher’s speech.

“Excuse , may I interrupt you for a mont?”

The man, wearing sunglasses and a mask, asked.

The preacher, sowhat bewildered but thinking he might be a follower from their own organization, stopped preaching about their revered deity and looked towards Lu Ban.

“What is it?”

“Well, it’s best not to worship this tree; it could cause problems.”

The man politely said.

“Huh? This is the divine tree given to us by our Mother, a testant of God’s love for mankind, who are you to say otherwise?”

The preacher imdiately retorted and questioned.

“Actually, um, I planted this tree, just yesterday.”

Lu Ban could only tell the truth.

Seeing this, Li Chunzai, who was watching the live stream, almost laughed out loud.

“This guy must be crazy, he planted it, then he must be my father too.”

Li Chunzai couldn’t help but chuckle.

The live-streaming priest was taken aback, then felt that Lu Ban was probably a mber of so other trouble-making organization. Originally planning to preach, he imdiately changed his mind.

“Actually, the Divine Sakura is planted by each one of us. As long as we follow the Saintess and dedicate ourselves, then everyone can plant this Divine Sakura.”

Soon after, she directed the caraman to shift the cara away, wanting to distance herself from Lu Ban.

“I’m serious, there’s still ti to turn back now.”

Lu Ban tried to persuade again.

“Lunatic.”

The live-streaming priest muttered and ignored Lu Ban.

Lu Ban thought about it, and since the other party wasn’t listening to his advice, there wasn’t much he could do.

After all, he wasn’t a devil. He couldn’t use “Testant” to force open their minds and alter their thoughts.

He still needed to study the structure of the Magic Network.

Nightfall.

Li Chunzai saw photos of the Divine Sakura being shared in the organization’s chat channel. Everyone was preparing to pray to this Divine Sakura tonight, and he was no exception.

He printed it out and hung it on the altar at ho. Li Chunzai and his family recited prayers before dinner. After eating, he felt serene and uplifted.

At midnight, Li Chunzai lay in bed, praying before sleep.

Closing his eyes, he entered into a dream where suddenly, he saw a towering tree before him.

Under the tree, there seed to be a woman dressed in a loose robe.

Her face was unclear, and as Li Chunzai tried to approach, he found himself unable to get any closer.

Then, he felt his heartbeat quicken. Soon, Li Chunzai realized he was dreaming.

He woke up with a start, his forehead sweating profusely, his heart lingering with fright.

“Thank goodness, it was just a dream…”

He sighed with relief but then felt a discomfort in his stomach and got up to go to the bathroom.

But just as he climbed out of bed, Li Chunzai saw that the lights in the living room were still on.

He walked into the living room and discovered his father sitting on the sofa, facing away from him.

“Dad, what’s wrong?”

Li Chunzai asked, but his father did not respond.

He moved closer, only to find that his father’s stomach had a bloody, gaping hole, and it seed as if the organs inside had a will of their own and had flown out.

Li Chunzai was startled and wanted to call his mother, but then saw in his parents’ room, his mother was lying on the bed, her abdon similarly empty.

Suddenly, Li Chunzai heard the cry of a baby.

He quickly turned around, only to see a baby’s handprint appearing on the white wall, ford from fresh blood, a harrowing sight.

A wave of intense pain surged through him, and Li Chunzai felt as if his abdon was being churned by a at grinder. His legs weakened, and he collapsed to the floor, convulsing.

The next mont, he saw a hand break out of his stomach, and a shadow erged from the carnage.

In his gradually blurring consciousness, Li Chunzai saw that the shadow seed to be a woman.

“Hey, what’s this?”

The woman appeared troubled and leaned close to Li Chunzai’s face.

As his vision darkened, Li Chunzai saw the breathtaking beauty of the woman’s face, even forgetting his own pain.

The next mont, his body swelled and twisted into a mass of distorted flesh.

In the blurry, flesh-covered living room, three similar shadows faced each other.

“Who are you?”

“Who are you?”

“And who are you?”
