Chapter 840: 839. Happy Growth
After receiving Lu Ban’s call, Hao Han from the “Legend of the Animals” production team was sowhat incredulous.
When the caller announced his na, stating that he was Lu Ban, Hao Han even suspected that the next thing this guy might say was that he had just finished filming a movie, needed a taxi ride ho but didn’t have any money, so he wanted to ask Hao Han to send fifty yuan via WeChat for him to enjoy a Crazy Thursday al.
However, this Lu Ban didn’t seem interested in Crazy Thursday. Instead, he started discussing the errors in their docuntary.
“…but our content has been verified by professionals, so there shouldn’t be an issue like this.”
Even though the other party wasn’t asking for money, Hao Han still felt sure this was so kind of prank.
How would the real Lu Ban have ti to pick faults in their docuntary?
Such a high-caliber director must be traveling the world every day, either attending various banquets, mingling with stars, or venturing to picturesque locations to gather materials. Why would he bother watching a docuntary that had already been broadcast several tis?
So, he gave a noncommittal response.
“I understand, I’ll discuss it with our editorial director.”
He hung up the phone and casually ntioned the incident in the work group chat, where everyone agreed with Hao Han’s opinion—this was a piece endorsed by a genuine university professor, how could there be any mistakes?
The work group burst into joyful laughter.
On the other side, Lu Ban hung up the phone, feeling that sothing was amiss.
He believed that this had a significant relation to his career developnt task; he needed to determine what the concept of knowledge truly was.
So he imdiately bought a ticket to visit that wetland and conduct an on-site investigation.
A few days later, in a wetland park sowhere in the country, Dr. Tao, who was in charge, walked alongside Lu Ban at the edge of the wetland.
He couldn’t understand what Lu Ban, a director, was doing there.
But after so thought, he assud that maybe Lu Ban was there for research for a potential film project, so Dr. Tao didn’t ask any further questions.
“Do the migratory birds usually co here during this season?”
Lu Ban asked, looking at the birds gathered in the distance.
“Yes, this is a place on their migration route where they replenish their food supply. If this wetland is destroyed, the birds may not be able to feed, which could ultimately lead to their extinction,”
Dr. Tao explained.
“But according to the route, they actually detour to get here, don’t they? The docuntary ntioned that it’s because the wetland used to be very large, covering their original route, so the birds have to take a longer way to find the wetland, right?”
Lu Ban followed up, referencing a point made in the docuntary, which was also the issue he had raised to the docuntary’s editors.
“There is such a theory.”
Dr. Tao thought Lu Ban knew quite a bit and gave him another look.
“Have you asked them?”
Lu Ban inquired, looking at the migratory birds.
“Ah?”
Dr. Tao was taken aback, unsure what Lu Ban ant.
Was this so kind of taphor?
Or so special way of expression?
He didn’t quite understand.
But Lu Ban was already walking towards the birds.
“Please wait…”
Before Dr. Tao could stop Lu Ban, he was amazed to see that the birds, as if they hadn’t noticed Lu Ban’s approach, didn’t fly away but remained where they were.
He saw Lu Ban approach the migratory birds, conversing with them as if inquiring, and the birds even nodded or called out in response, giving him a sense of unreality.
After a while, Lu Ban returned.
“I just asked them, and they said it’s not because of the changes in the wetland, but rather that the route is right here.”
“The route?”
Dr. Tao was too stunned to retort.
“It’s the magnetic field, isn’t it? They plan their route based on the magnetic field, but the magnetic field around here has so issues, so the migratory birds have to take a detour.”
Lu Ban said, looking over here.
Normally, if there’s a problem with the magnetic field in an area, there’s a high chance that it contains concentrated iron deposits.
Since this place has always been a wetland, people have overlooked the real reason migratory birds avoid this place, which is the iron deposits.
Realizing this, Lu Ban glanced at the progress bar.
[Knowledge: 1/10000000]
His knowledge had just increased by a little bit.
Although it was an insignificant amount, it was a big step for Lu Ban.
“True knowledge is gained through practice, not just reading.”
Lu Ban couldn’t help but reflect.
“Huh?”
Dr. Tao was totally confused.
However, he rembered what Lu Ban said and planned to go back and have the survey team check out the mineral resources here. Although they couldn’t be mined due to wetland protection, knowing the reserves could be very helpful for geological research and resource planning.
Understanding the requirents of the mission by observing the migratory birds, Lu Ban had a rough idea.
“To gain knowledge, relying on just myself isn’t enough. I need to use the Magic Network, letting the players obtain it, to accumulate it faster.”
The Magic Network itself required a large amount of knowledge as a foundation, and Lu Ban felt that this task could kill two birds with one stone.
However, first, he needed to plant this tree.
If this was to be a giant tree similar to the Divine Sakura, then it would be best to find a location where few people ventured, but Lu Ban had another idea.
Since the giant tree’s fertilizer was pollution, it might be difficult for it to grow in uninhabited areas with little pollution.
Lu Ban surely couldn’t keep broadcasting the babblings of the great beings around the tree to spur its growth.
Soon, he found an excellent location.
On the outskirts of Jiangcheng City, amidst the misty Jiangcheng Mountain, Lu Ban found a decent spot.
He dug a hole with a shovel, placed the seed in the soil, and carefully covered it up.
Jiangcheng Mountain held a seal on an Ancient Overlord, and its seal wouldn’t loosen for now, but in the future, it might leak pollution.
And the Divine Sakura needed to absorb this pollution to grow.
All things considered, this was the perfect place to plant it.
Lu Ban didn’t rush ho but settled down in an old house on the mountain, checking on the seed’s growth every day.
A week later, the seed still hadn’t sprouted.
Lu Ban thought this was unscientific.
When Shia had planted hers, it had imdiately taken root and sprouted, quickly becoming a large tree. Could it be that this seed was a dud, showing no movent for so long?
“Maybe it really does need so fertilizer,” Lu Ban thought to himself.
Speaking of fertilizer, he quickly thought of Baobao.
Human excrent is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium necessary for plants, which could help crops grow strong. So could the excrents of an Outer God’s incarnation also make this seed grow happily?
No sooner had the thought occurred to him than he prepared to find Baobao to get so fertilizer.
But just as he was about to call for Baobao, he suddenly noticed that a bit of new green had unexpectedly sprouted from the soil.
The sprout grew rapidly with the wind, quickly becoming a small sapling.
Its roots spread out into the depths of the soil, intertwining, and seed to soon beco a towering giant tree.
“It looks like I don’t need to find Baobao after all.”
Lu Ban felt relieved.
