Chapter 820: 819. Giant

Lu Ban looked at the small wooden piece in his hand; the ti was exactly the 42nd second.

He was ready to face the monster ford from black fog, but nothing appeared.

Yet, Lu Ban indeed felt a gust of wind coming head-on; it was exceedingly hot and dry, seemingly mixed with sand, making breathing through the nose extrely uncomfortable, inducing a desire to cough and vomit.

Lu Ban saw that the sky above was displaying a peculiar orange hue, as if it had been scorched by so sort of fla, and the closer it was to The Island, the more it turned into a blood-red color, like fresh blood.

The black fog monster was nowhere to be found, at least for the mont; Lu Ban did not see any similar creature.

“This wind is a bit off.”

Shia raised her hand slightly to shield her eyes.

In the desert, such sandstorms were common, but on a small island, where the soil was mostly damp and no sand was visible as far as the eye could see, the wind still felt grainy, scorching the respiratory tract.

For this reason, she opened up a magical barrier to block the breeze, but the burning sensation persisted, spreading deep into the body.

“The wind here is also polluted.”

Lu Ban quickly realized the problem at hand.

On the other hand, Baobao, clad in white clothing and red hakama, took a deep breath as if intoxicated by the air.

“What fresh air, so beautiful, my family.”

She remarked.

For a being of her caliber, the wind here was indeed as fresh as it could possibly get.

“Have we now entered a fissure in ti?”

Shia glanced around, asking Baobao.

“Yes, kupo.”

Baobao replied, having picked up this manner of speaking from who knows where.

“Don’t worry, you’re quite interesting for the mont, and if any trouble arises, I’ll at least bring your body back.”

She then looked toward Lu Ban.

“That is very much appreciated.”

Lu Ban was gratefully moved to tears.

Just as they were preparing to head towards the center of The Island, curious about what had happened, so sort of tremor suddenly spread from the ground.

The next mont, shadows enveloped the three of them.

Lu Ban turned around.

He saw a giant standing behind them.

The giant had a human-like form but was much taller, wearing dark yellow clothes that concealed its body, leaving only a pair of eyes staring at the trio.

“Whose experintal subject is this? This place is too dangerous; you must leave imdiately.”

He spoke, using neither the language of Earth nor He Dao, but sohow, Lu Ban and Shia could comprehend his aning and feel the emotions between his words.

It was as if their own languages originated from his, experiencing a primal convergence of thought.

Lu Ban and Shia exchanged a glance, not rejecting the other’s words.

This person didn’t seem to be severely affected by pollution and bore no malice towards them. Now, in the gap of ti, they needed to learn more.

“This way.”

The large yellow figure led the three to another part of the beach, where many more giants similar to him were standing. They were all dressed in yellow clothes, isolated from the world. Not far out at sea, a massive ship was anchored, with even more giants aboard.

“The concentration has risen again, when on Earth will those guys be able to suppress it?”

“There isn’t much ti left, the fourth batch of cleaners is getting ready to go up.”

“This one’s almost done for, where’s the doctor, where’s the doctor?”

Voices ebbed and flowed on the beach, where many giants lay on the ground, motionless, their yellow garnts peeled back to reveal their robust bodies that resembled classical sculptures. But these people seed to breathe no longer, forever frozen in this mont.

So of the giants were resting, and even during their rest, they had not shed their protective garnts. They appeared extrely weary and strained, as if they might collapse any second, never to awaken again.

“The Taviel Ti Anchor can’t hold much more ti, but the leakage still can’t be stopped. This place is too dangerous, and you experintal subjects shouldn’t be wandering around.”

The original giant led the three to a tal platform to prevent Lu Ban and the others from being trampled by other giants, then said.

“Experintal subjects?”

Lu Ban directly expressed his doubt.

“Hm? Aren’t you those little gizmos created from Yang’s transformation experints? Did I pick up so strange things again?”

The giant was taken aback.

“Yang?”

Lu Ban was even more perplexed.

“The leakage you just ntioned, is it the pollution from the Ancient Overlord?”

Shia directly asked, causing the giant to frown slightly.

“For a little one, you know quite a lot. But it’s not as simple as the Ancient Overlord; it’s an Outer God, one that is about to awaken here.”

The giant responded.

However, his tone was much too calm compared to the gravity of what he was saying.

As if, there was still a redy, still a way to stop it.

“The pollution It brings is everywhere; we’ve lost many people. But at least we still have ti. The Taviel Ti Anchor can buy us ti—at least until the anchored ti runs out, we can still prevent It. Truth be told, I don’t really want to use that thing on the Foreign Domain; the sea here is beautiful. In our world, such clear seas no longer exist.”

The giant spoke again, almost to himself, as if he saw Lu Ban and the others as ears for his musings, perhaps because in such tense situations, speaking was the only relief.

“The Taviel Ti Anchor?”

Shia was curious about this term, and she attempted to inquire further.

An intuition enveloped her, but she needed confirmation.

“It seems Yang didn’t teach you this knowledge, haha. The Taviel Ti Anchor is a special device; it can anchor a period of ti in the Foreign Domain. Through an anchor point, we can enter that period of ti in the Foreign Domain to perform operations. And when the anchoring ends, our actions in that period of ti will solidify into the Foreign Domain’s tiline—convenient, isn’t it?”

The giant spoke as if bragging, while pointing to a towering silver steel spike above the sea not far away.

Shia and Lu Ban exchanged glances.

They had never heard of the Taviel Ti Anchor before, but its way of functioning was all too familiar to them.

The Silent Lands empowered the Chosen by Gods to be active in various Foreign Domains, just like what these giants were doing with the Taviel Ti Anchor.

Were these people Chosen by Gods?

The thought occurred to Shia, but she cast it aside almost imdiately, for it was clear that this mission would not involve other Chosen by Gods.

“So, our mission now is to strive to reduce the level of pollution, lock back this Outer God that’s about to awaken, then extract the Taviel Ti Anchor, and save this world.”

The giant said proudly, puffing out his chest.
