Chapter 784: 783.Dear_1

The eyes reflected the dim light from the street lamps outside, appearing sowhat fierce.

“You’re awake?”

Lu Ban looked at the owner of the eyes, Wes.

“Am I going to die?”

Wes suddenly asked.

“All mortals must die.”

Lu Ban answered decisively.

“Well, thanks for that.”

Wes sat up, incessantly scratching his arm until he couldn’t help but lift the sleeve, discovering that blackness had spread across his entire hand and even to his neck as he pulled his collar aside.

“It’s so itchy, like ants crawling over . You understand, don’t you? That itch, feels like it’s coming from inside my bones.”

Wes let out a bitter laugh, his fingernails scraping over his arms. It was visible that the skin beneath his nails was already torn, revealing the dark flesh beneath.

“Do you think if I dug out my bones, I would feel a bit better?”

His hand moved to his neck, the blackened skin there inviting his nails to scratch incessantly, like so sort of scratch card beckoning to be scraped.

A fierce smile spread across Wes’s face, his actions paired with the expression appeared quite bizarre.

He quickly broke the skin of his neck with his fingers but it wasn’t enough. He wanted to dig deeper, his fingernails oozing black blood at their point of contact with the skin. Wes, however, seed completely indifferent to it, continuing to scratch until the flesh was gouged out.

Lu Ban was glad that his skin, blood, and flesh had turned black; thus, it looked no different from soone picking at a chocolate cake with their fingers, so it didn’t make one feel nauseous—instead, even sowhat appetizing.

He raised his hand and countless words appeared above Wes’s head.

[The most common type of book hidden under the bed is a bikini babe magazine]

[The goal of making movies is to et more girls]

[Likes action movies filled with violent elents and often imagines himself as the protagonist]

[Harbors improper thoughts towards two girls nearby]

[Neck is very itchy]

[Arms are very itchy]

[Bones are very itchy]

[Whole body is very, very itchy…]

Those words of itchiness quickly filled Lu Ban’s view, as if intending to fill the space he occupied. He imdiately reined in the text and then, using a silver fountain pen “Testant,” wrote on the sowhat delirious Wes.

[Prone to deep sleep, could sleep through thunderstorms without being disturbed]

Soon, Wes’s eyes rolled back and he fell into a deep slumber, his hands coming to a halt.

“He has been severely contaminated.”

Lu Ban concluded.

He could have induced this level of contamination simply by writing the word itchiness inside Wes’s brain while he was off guard.

Upon waking, Wes would feel an unbearable itchy sensation all over, similar to what had happened earlier, causing him to tear through his own skin and flesh.

Lu Ban speculated that maybe the contamination had seeped in when the townspeople had caught him during the day.

Now, all Lu Ban could do was to put Wes into a temporary slumber to prevent him from scratching open his own throat.

This city truly had a massive amount of pollution; Lu Ban even felt that the majority of the citizens must have undergone mutation.

“Just like [Mysterious Amusent Park], does this place also manipulate everyone’s cognition, making others unaware?”

Lu Ban pondered the idea. If the Miskatonic Film Festival had truly been a sacrifice ceremony, then the lack of relevant reports in reality was indeed noteworthy.

The Ancient Overlords indeed possessed the power to alter cognition, but most would not use it to conceal themselves. For those transcendent beings, to exist is to be legitimate.

On the other hand, the cryptic entities of this world would constantly hide themselves, being cautious and vigilant to avoid detection.

So, Lu Ban pondered, there might exist sothing uncanny here, in addition to the Ancient Overlord. Only the combination of the two could have given birth to this film festival.

He covered Wes with a blanket and left the RV.

The starry sky, like an abyss, was absorbing all light, and the entire city seed to have fallen into Silence.

Scott held the cara, checking the scenes he had shot during the day.

Talia sat nearby, blowing the breeze as if she had already fallen asleep.

Lu Ban saw Jas take off his jacket and go inside the RV.

He thought for a mont but made no move.

When Jas returned to the RV, he saw Wes had already fallen asleep, so he snuck under Valeria’s blanket.

His hand roved daringly, ready to make up with his girlfriend in the thrilling setting as before, but suddenly, he felt sothing different.

The viscous, damp, warm texture gave him an intense sense of unease.

At Valeria’s abdon, where it should have been flat, there was now a slight indentation.

Jas reached out to touch it, at first thinking it was the belly button, but when his fingers rested on it, he realized the hollow was beyond what he had imagined.

His finger probed inside and soon touched a warm, springy lump.

“What is this?”

Jas asked, curious.

“It’s my liver.”

Valeria seed to have woken up and replied.

“It’s quite soft.”

Jas remarked. He had never touched a human liver before, not even a fresh animal one. Now, the novelty of this texture captivated him, and he continued to knead it curiously.

“Is this the liver too?”

Jas touched another spot that felt different, more elastic, similar to a rubber ball.

“That’s the stomach.”

Valeria answered with slight irritation.

Jas’s hands kept exploring, and soon, he reached the edge of the indentation, rubbing against sothing very hard that made him feel odd.

What part of the human body could feel like this?

Ribs? Pelvic bone?

He was puzzled and could only whisper in his girlfriend’s ear.

“What is this part?”

When Jas asked, Valeria didn’t answer right away but fell silent for a mont before turning to face him.

“These are teeth, darling.”

With a shy and coquettish smile, Valeria, under the light from outside the window, revealed to Jas a huge hole in the middle of her body. Inside the hole, the organs were clinging to one side, and around it, there were sharp teeth.

Valeria’s legs were covered in black hair, and her feet had turned into the shape of hooves. Her eyes were pitch black, and from amongst the organs, countless tentacles sprouted and reached for Jas’s arm.

“… Ah!”

Unable to contain himself, Jas let out a wail. So shock traversed his brain with the scene before him, and he looked at his hand, covered in warm blood. Desperate, he tried to get up, but Valeria’s hands had already entwined him.

“Darling, do you still love ?”

Valeria’s voice was colder than the night.
