[Settlent comncing now]

[Task Exploration Degree: 300%]

[Task Completion: Indescribable]

[In tis of chaos, nobody knew what so people had done. The forces of Nine Streams scattered to the ends of the earth, never to reconvene. Only the trees on Jiangcheng Mountain, having braved a hundred years of storms, bore witness to everything. Their stories should not be forgotten. As seas beco mulberry fields, there will always be so who rember.]

[Silence Points Gained: 400,000]

[Occupational Reward Received: Item: Nine Streams]

[Settlent completed]

[Shattering the illusion of peace, informing the audience of historical truth, albeit a small effect, there will always be so who choose to believe. The story is about to turn a new page, and you cannot stand still. Move forward, by any ans necessary.]

[Option to complete Occupational Advancent Task selected, Occupational Reward received]

[Welco back to the Silent Lands]

“So there really is 300% after 200%.”

Lu Ban felt sowhat nostalgic.

If there’s 300%, then there definitely is 400%.

The cycle never ends.

Too competitive.

He had always been soone who preferred to take it easy and couldn’t stand such spiraling task evaluations.

After so thought, Lu Ban figured that the descendants of Nine Streams probably had each gone their separate ways after this, with no reunion in sight. Overtaken by war and the long passage of ti, they were gradually buried in obscurity, with only the likes of He Jiaoyang as their remainders, indistinguishable from the masses.

Lu Ban was unclear who the original Mysterious Monarch was, but it was definitely soone with unwavering will. It was because of such people that this world was not swallowed by the Evil God.

With this thought, he looked up, feeling the noise around him.

He walked down the hillside and saw a modern, crafted road that led up the mountain—far more refined than the path he had taken before.

Lu Ban heard the sound of a car.

A vehicle descended from the mountain. Lu Ban waved from a distance and it stopped.

“Mind giving

a lift?” he asked as the driver rolled down the window.

The driver was a woman. Though she wore sunglasses, she seed rather spirited and had a certain charm.

“Sure.”

She agreed readily, letting Lu Ban get in the car without seeming to care whether he was handso or worried that he might be a bad person.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Lu Ban glanced at the phone navigation.

“What year is it now?” he asked.

“?”

A question mark appeared above the female driver’s head as she looked at Lu Ban suspiciously.

“It’s ****.”

The year she ntioned was indeed the year Lu Ban had originally co from.

It seed ti had just slightly progressed.

“There’s no one living up on this mountain anymore. It’s pretty dangerous for you to co up here by yourself,” Lu Ban changed the topic.

“It’s not too bad. I’ve trained in so self-defense; I’m not afraid,” the driver replied offhandedly.

“My grandma used to live here. She passed away a while ago and wanted her ashes brought to her old ho for a mountain burial. So I drove up to check the place out,” she continued.

“Oh,” Lu Ban responded, recalling that there used to be villages on Jiangcheng Mountain. Due to planning reasons, they were relocated to the Jiangcheng District along with the inhabitants of the towns below.

“Can you even arrange a mountain burial here?” he asked.

“I don’t know yet. I checked out the old house and it’s in ruins. I plan to go back and ask,” the driver said.

“At the ti, it seems Jiangcheng Industries bought the developnt rights for this area, which is why my grandmother and the others had to relocate. But after so long, there hasn’t been any developnt. Anyway, it’s all my grandparents’ business. We got houses in the city out of it, so that’s a win for us,” she added.

“That’s good to hear,” said Lu Ban, rembering that he had chosen to build the Abandoned Capital Park at the foot of Jiangcheng Mountain because Song Yunyan’s secretary, Li Zijian, had told him that Jiangcheng Industries had purchased the land but never developed it.

Thinking about it now, Song Yunyan’s decision to buy this place was probably not a coincidence.

She had been affected by pollution and gained so knowledge. Perhaps within that knowledge, there was a hint that prompted her to make the purchase.

And all of this was because of the past of Jiangcheng Mountain.

History and present, amazingly, had ford a closed loop.

The car wound down the mountain road as Lu Ban and the female driver chatted on and off.

Originally, Lu Ban had only asked her to take him into the city, but the driver was enthusiastic, insisting on driving Lu Ban all the way ho.

“You know, you look sowhat familiar. Have we t sowhere before?”

After entering the city, the car slowed down, and the driver suddenly said.

“Maybe on TV, or in a movie.”

Lu Ban told the truth.

The driver laughed it off, not minding much.

Her phone rang, and she answered it via Bluetooth, responding briefly.

“I need to pick up sothing from the hospital, so I’ll take a slight detour, okay?”

“The hospital?”

Lu Ban didn’t ask about other people’s business and sat obediently in the passenger seat.

The car arrived at Jiang City Third People’s Hospital, which was very close to the Jiangcheng Public Security Bureau.

The driver didn’t leave the car, just pulling over to the side of the road where a nurse in uniform handed her a docunt envelope.

She noticed Lu Ban in the passenger seat.

“Oh, switched to a young hunk this ti.”

“Found him on the mountain, just giving him a lift on the way.”

The driver took the envelope, placed it in the back seat, and resud driving.

“I don’t have a comrcial driver’s license.”

Lu Ban said out of the blue.

“Neither do I.”

The driver was puzzled.

“Are you a doctor?”

Lu Ban asked.

“Kind of, a forensic expert. I deal with the dead.”

The driver said cheerfully.

“That’s quite noble.”

“Not really. It’s a family legacy. My ancestors were all from a dical family. I originally wanted to do sothing else, but due to an unexpected turn of events, I ended up back in the family profession.”

She was open and laid-back about her unusual career instead of secretive.

This attitude sparked an idea in Lu Ban.

“Don’t even know your na yet. If I ever need to go to the hospital, I could get a discount by finding you, right?”

Lu Ban asked.

“No discounts available, little brother. The cases that co my way are always troubleso.”

The driver was amused by Lu Ban’s words, then added,

“Tang Yu, Yu as in rain.”

Lu Ban now had so of the answers in his mind.

This Miss Tang Yu was probably a descendant of the Puppeteer Tang Family line.

He didn’t know which generation Tang Que belonged to her, but after so many years, Tang Que was probably deceased by now.

Perhaps many descendants of the Nine Streams remained in Jiangcheng, taking root and thriving on this land, waiting for the day when Jiangcheng Mountain would call again, when their presence was needed.

“Nice na.”

Lu Ban complinted, then said,

“My na is Lu Ban.”

“That’s a good na too.”

Tang Yu nodded.

She dropped Lu Ban off at the entrance of his residential complex, drove away without accepting any money.

Halfway through her drive, Tang Yu’s phone rang.

“Hello, I know, I’m coming ho for dinner. I’ll stop by the market to pick up a saltwater duck, let’s have sothing good today.”

She responded to the call on the phone, hung up, and then seed to realize sothing afterward.

“What did he say his na was just now?”
