Chapter 517: 516. Everyone is the main character_1
Upon leaving the ecological park, Liu Huajian felt his soul had been healed. Living in a big city for many years, he had seldom been in touch with fresh air and real plants, but in this ecological park, he could get up close with adorable animals and even had a pure and innocent girl explaining various flora and fauna to him.
Although it seed sowhat different from what he knew, it didn’t matter—cute was all that mattered.
It wasn’t until over two hours later that Liu Huajian left the ecological park. As soon as he stepped out of the entrance, he saw a toy bear walking towards him.
When he ca to his senses, Liu Huajian was already standing on the Lingjiang Riverside.
“What was I just?”
He vaguely rembered that he had originally co near Abandoned Capital Town to gather artistic inspiration, but he must have seen sothing and ended up by the river and then…
Liu Huajian could no longer rember what had happened.
He looked at the scenery cleared after the rain, and at his own reflection in the clear river water, he always felt that sothing was not quite right.
In the amusent park, Lu Ban had co to the ecological park. Lin, who was tending the plants, saw him and greeted him with a warm smile.
“Welco back.”
She was as clear and pure as when Lu Ban had first t her.
But Lu Ban knew very well that the current Lin was a product of pollution.
To be precise, she was rely a silhouette of the past, existing because of Lu Ban, a fragnt of Lin from the explosion created by the Ancient Overlord, collected by Ti Worms who stole bits of ti.
In the real tiline, Lin had long perished due to exhausted energy and damaged circuits.
Only the polluted Lin, transford into an eerie being, could stand in front of Lu Ban like this.
The price was that she would never be able to leave this amusent park, just like the Bandaged People, Four-eyed Kid, and Little Fish Man collected by Lu Ban in the park, becoming a part of the park’s operation.
She also lacked the mories of her final monts, everything frozen at the ti when Lu Ban and Shuangxin left Future City for the second trip to the industrial park.
“It’s really nice to see humans again.”
Lin said happily.
“Indeed.”
Lu Ban could not tell if this counted as a good ending or not. For Lin, she no longer had to worry about running out of energy; as long as the [Mysterious Amusent Park] remained, she would not disappear. At the sa ti, however, she would never be able to wait for the person she longed to see.
Thinking of this, Lu Ban’s thoughts shifted, and the layout of the amusent park changed; the area for Ti Worms was reduced, and the ecological park was distinctly set apart.
This might also be the gift of becoming increasingly inhuman after acquiring the lting ability. To a certain extent, Lu Ban could now influence the structure within the amusent park.
“The sky here is so blue, and the air is so fresh. Even though there are so many plants and animals in the ecological park, I know that these are all man-made, false imposters. What humans truly need is the original sky.”
Lin said shyly.
Hearing this, Lu Ban also gained so insight.
He had been pondering what kind of change the materials he acquired could bring to humanity.
Now, thinking about it, the biggest difference between the Wasteland and this world is that the Wasteland had already been destroyed once.
If he could give the people of this world a real experience of what it feels like to have their world destroyed, would they co to see the entire world differently and cherish their lives more?
Lu Ban felt it was possible.
After all, there were certainly instances of people developing PTSD towards bathrooms and hospitals after watching horror films. If they actually experienced the destruction of the Wasteland, wouldn’t their resistance to pollution beco stronger?
For example, the three sches for the Wasteland seed crazy. If humanity learned about the serious consequences of these sches through Lu Ban’s works, wouldn’t it deter similar events to so extent?
Lu Ban felt his thoughts growing clearer.
A disaster film.
He had previously directed horror movies, thrillers, suspense films, epic blockbusters, and arthouse road movies. Now, he was going to produce a disaster film.
A film that told the story of how the Wasteland was destroyed.
This movie would depict the social life in the Wasteland from the initial natural disasters that humans faced, to their united efforts to attempt self-rescue, to their desperate and hopeless asures, and ultimately to their destruction, all from multiple perspectives.
And robots like Lin would beco a taphor, a condensed version of the era.
In this movie, there is no real main character, but everyone is the main character.
Lu Ban believed that after watching such a movie, everyone would surely reignite hope for real life and cherish the current living environnt even more.
Having made up his mind, Lu Ban allowed [Mysterious Amusent Park]’s ecological park to move around the world, creating bizarre stories and fabricating publicity stunts for the early stages, while also distributing tasks to the employees of Silent dia.
The recently office-slacking Bai Qiquan was surprised; the boss had disappeared for a while and now suddenly erged with materials for another movie.
Uh, it seed like he had done this before; he should have been used to it by now.
After receiving the materials, he read through the entire content first.
The disaster special effects amazed him—it would take the country’s top teams a lot of ti and effort to produce such effects, and they wouldn’t be possible without a huge budget of tens of millions or even hundreds of millions.
Oh, it’s the boss who’s not short of money, so that’s not a problem, then.
Of course, Bai Qiquan could also see that most of the film consisted of special effects, so the actual filming process might not be long, which aligned with his understanding.
Then he raised his hand and asked,
“Boss, there won’t be any hidden plot twists in this movie to tornt people, right?”
Seeing the plot where the robot girl ultimately stares at the destroyed world, her eyes losing the last glimr of light, was already depressing enough for Bai Qiquan.
Still, he was worried that Lu Ban might pull off sothing like he did during “Peaceful Days in Spring,” making it even more depressingly impactful.
“No, no, when have I ever lied to you guys?”
Lu Ban shook his head, appearing utterly sincere.
He truly hadn’t planned any hidden plot twists.
The sa trick wouldn’t work on the Saint Fighter a second ti; Lu Ban wasn’t the kind of director who enjoyed tornting his audience.
What he wanted was to genuinely touch people’s hearts.
Moreover, unknown twists wouldn’t be beneficial for accomplishing the mission because if there were such twists, the audience’s focus would shift to the twists, which might lead them to overlook the key ssages the film was trying to convey.
So countries’ movies, for instance, emphasized plot twists heavily. They felt thrilling on the first watch, but upon rewatching after knowing the twists, the storyline would seem common and hollow.
So this ti, Lu Ban intended to lead the audience into the cinema with righteousness and then change their worldview just as righteously.
