Chapter 970: Chapter 971: Fu Tiantian and Ma Niubi

Monk Shenxu was rather irate. They were just two children, yet they dared to deceive him repeatedly with Basic Talismans, and what was crucial was that he actually fell for it!

“How daring. I originally planned to capture both, but now it seems capturing just one is also acceptable. You’ve repeatedly scorned this monk three tis over. I will show you that Buddhist monks are not to be insulted!”

A chilling murderous intent burst from Monk Shenxu’s eyes, and the Internal Cultivation Technique within his body revolved wildly, making him disappear in the blink of an eye.

A few breaths later, the little girl was caught up.

“Amitabha, the little benefactor is sowhat clever, but alas, these petty smarts are not enough to fool this monk. Just follow obediently, it’s for your own good!”

Monk Shenxu’s expression was cold and grim as he spoke.

...

The little girl kept her head down, silently hurrying along, dropped the wooden board and took off running while pulling the milk baby along.

“Great Bodhi Seal!”

Monk Shenxu was enraged. With a pinch of a Seal Spell, he stamped directly on top of the little girl’s head. The space twisted, and in an instant, the girl’s body was torn into shreds. However, there was no blood splattered; instead, she turned into strips of white cloth that fluttered away into the distance.

“Substitution Talisman?”

Monk Shenxu’s gaze stalled. This little girl was also fake!

“Explosive Talisman!”

Suddenly, the little milk baby beside him shouted and unexpectedly reached Monk Shenxu’s feet, in an instant sticking more than ten talismans on his ankle before swiftly backing away and picking up the hemp rope to escape farther.

“Boom!”

A massive explosion sounded over the barren wilderness; dust flew, and Monk Shenxu, blasted at his feet, staggered, his legs flayed open and dripping with fresh blood.

However, with his Golden Core Stage cultivation level, these were rely flesh wounds, nothing serious. Though briefly stunned, he quickly recovered, his eyes burning with rage—he had been fooled again!

The little scamr had left the milk baby on the wooden board, used the Invisibility Talisman to hide her tracks, and herself transford into the milk baby using the Transformation Talisman, while using the Substitution Talisman to turn cloth strips into her own appearance. These were all just basic talismans that apprentice disciples could understand, yet they had baffled him repeatedly. Monk Shenxu felt deeply insulted.

“Great Bodhi Seal!”

“Suppress!”

Monk Shenxu was truly furious. His hands ford a complex seal, and in the void, a huge square Buddhist seal enveloped everything, intending to suppress everything within ten miles.

In the distance, the little girl reverted to her original form, a trace of panic appearing in her eyes as she watched the enormous seal press down from the sky. She frantically reached into her pocket, finding it empty.

“Oh no, I’m out of talismans!”

“Yi yi ya ya!”

The milk baby, sitting in a wooden barrel, looked up at the pressing seal, flailing about as if warning the little girl of the impending danger.

“No choice now, my brother Ma Niubi has the potential of a great emperor, he must not die here!”

The little girl stopped, rolled up her sleeves and began digging. Her Spiritual Power activated as she dug a large pit, threw the milk baby into it, and then gently covered it with a layer of soil.

“Amitabha, since I beca a monk, I have never suffered like this before. However, cleverness is only cleverness after all. With your Foundation Establishnt cultivation level, you only have one outco, and that is to be obediently suppressed by this monk!”

Monk Shenxu approached through the air, shouting angrily.

“Bodhi Temple is infamous, helping tyrants in kidnapping children everywhere. Your actions have long ceased to be those of Buddhist disciples; you are nothing but degenerates!”

“Today you overpower the weak, but sooner or later, soone stronger will co to deal with you. This is causality!”

The little girl said, her young face cold.

“Nonsense! There are over a hundred children in Bodhi Temple, yet none have ever scorned the Buddhist Law like you have. You will suffer once we get back. Seeing how well you run, this monk will start by chopping off your legs!”

Monk Shenxu’s expression was fierce, his eyes flashing with a brutal light. He flipped his wrist, and a short sword appeared in his hand. With a swing, a flaming giant blade rushed towards the little girl.

“My life is over!”

The little girl closed her eyes, knowing she had no chance of surviving this strike.

Waiting silently for death to co, one breath passed, then another, yet she felt no pain lingering on her body. Finding this strange, she slightly opened an eye and was imdiately stunned by the scene before her.

The flaming blade had suddenly halted mid-air, and at the sa ti, a strand of eerie black aura rapidly spread, corroding and devouring it until it disappeared without a trace.

The entire process was completely silent, eerily so to the extre.

“A master is present!”

“May I ask which senior is here?”

“Monk Shenxu from the Bodhi Temple. Today, I was commanded by the Heavenly God Sect of Central Origin Realm to take these two children back, and I kindly request the senior to grant us passage!”

Monk Shenxu’s heart trembled. He had just clearly seen a jet-black sword light burst from the empty space next to the little girl, devouring his cultivation technique entirely.

“It was just a matter of asking for so food, yet it triggered a bloody incident. How fascinating indeed!”

On the desolate plain, a young man appeared out of nowhere, slowly approaching while nibbling on a roast chicken.

“It’s Roast Chicken Senior!”

The little girl, seeing the half-wrapped roast chicken in the young man’s hand, imdiately recognized him as the person who had previously thrown down the bun.

“Many thanks to Roast Chicken Senior for saving our lives!”

“No worries, it was just a matter of lifting a finger. I had known earlier that there were many corrupt mbers of the Buddhist Sect in the Western Desert. It seems that during the grand cleansing by Masters Xuan Bei and Xuan Ku, your Bodhi Temple was overlooked.”

Li Xiaobai spoke indifferently to Monk Shenxu.

“Amitabha, Benefactor, what are you saying? This monk was rely eager to protect them. It’s unsafe in the wilderness, so I thought of taking them back to the temple.”

Monk Shenxu tried to calm himself as he spoke.

“I feel that the entire Immortal Spirit Continent is unsafe. I plan to take the Bodhi Temple along with the Heavenly God Sect to a place where they will be forever free of illness and disaster. What does the master think?”

Li Xiaobai took another bite of the roast chicken and spoke nonchalantly.

“Hmm? What place might that be? Benefactor, since you co from the Central Origin Realm, this humble monk has little say in this matter. You may discuss it with the elders of the Bodhi Temple and the Heavenly God Sect.”

Monk Shenxu was taken aback, not quite catching on, and asked sowhat foolishly.

“I am sending the master to be reborn in Pure Land, a Western realm free from suffering. May you have a good journey!”

Li Xiaobai grinned, baring his fierce white teeth, and with a sweep of his chicken leg, unleashed a terrifying sword light that split the sky and earth, instantly cutting the monk before him clean in two.

The two halves of the body fell to the ground, utterly devoid of life.

“It seems all the mbers of the Heavenly God Sect are staying within the Bodhi Temple, saving quite a bit of effort.”

Li Xiaobai muttered to himself, stepping forward to take the space ring from Monk Shenxu’s hand. After a cursory glance, he tossed it to the little girl.

“Yours now.”

“Many thanks to Roast Chicken Senior for saving our lives. May I ask for your esteed na?”

The little girl fumbled with the ring, her eyes filled with shock that did not fade quickly. She had never seen such a sword light that seed to tear the heavens and earth apart before.

“I am Li Xiaobai.”

“Seeing your remarkable skills just now, I have a mountain in the Central Origin Realm. Would you be interested in following there to cultivate?” Li Xiaobai asked.

At his words, the little girl dug out her hidden-milk siblings, who knelt down in unison: “Respected master above, disciples Fu Tiantian and Ma Niubi pay their respects!”

The little girl was clever, knowing such an opportunity should not be missed. She brought along her milk siblings without a second thought, giving no reason for refusal.

Li Xiaobai’s eyebrows twitched, and his lips twitched involuntarily twice: “Why is he called Ma Niubi?”

Fu Tiantian respectfully replied: “Master, it’s a humble na that’s easy to raise!”
