The altar’s light flickered.

Two groups of eight people vanished.

Upon reopening his eyes, Li Xiaobai found himself imrsed in a river, with Immortal Qingyue and four others on the shore. Jiang Que, Da Jianbi, and Yu Huan Shui were nowhere nearby.

Li Xiaobai frowned, carefully examined, and discovered Qingyue and the others were holding hands, probably the reason why they weren’t separated.

"This Xiang Guohua, didn’t explain the rules clearly, we got scattered right upon entry."

Li Xiaobai cursed as he climbed ashore from the small river.

"Looks like your companions got teleported elsewhere. As for you, I haven’t forgotten your previous arrogance. From my perspective, let’s settle this here!"

The golden-winged youth spoke harshly, looking down from above.

In Hegemonic City, he was suppressed by He Yong, preventing any outburst. The arrogance from those four had long infuriated him.

He was a genius; when had he ever been hunted?

"Jinpeng!"

"We’ve just arrived, don’t resort to fighting recklessly, wasting energy. Didn’t our master remind us not to fight internally?"

"Right now, the most important thing is where to go next, planning the future strategy. If the battlefield strategy is wrong, it might cost lives!"

Qingyue sternly stopped Jinpeng’s provocation.

"Boring, if strength isn’t enough, no strategy matters. Without a fight, I’ll leave first."

Li Xiaobai crossed his arms behind his head, leisurely strolling away along the river.

On the battlefield, logic doesn’t apply, especially a battlefield hiding unknown numbers of people, any corner could spring a rival. Instead of strategizing, one should stay vigilant; encountering an enemy might an death.

"Haha, he’s still so arrogant. Does he think he can walk horizontally across this battlefield?"

"Ignore him, let’s find a high spot to overlook the battlefield; finding a good hiding spot is crucial."

Qingyue quickly took out a piece of white paper, preparing to draw a route.

She studied military tactics thoroughly; even though newly arrived, she knew what to do—finding sparsely populated areas to reduce encounters with other cultivators was the safest approach.

Like Li Xiaobai walking casually, he’d imdiately draw attention.

"Let’s head up the mountain."

...

Riverbed.

Li Xiaobai chewed on a reed, strolling leisurely.

He’d walked about ten minutes, reaching downstream, still without seeing a soul.

According to his idea, walking along the river would lead to lower grounds; generally, low terrain belongs to plains, wide terrain, if not, it’s a basin, offering good vision, good scenery.

This also ans walking on the plain would imdiately find him, theoretically a dangerous move.

Yet, strolling alone leisurely creates an illusion that cultivators in hiding would regard him as an expert, fearing to act rashly, especially if multiple forces hide in the shadows, with only him in plain sight.

Hidden cultivators would guard each other, afraid their rash actions reveal flaws and draw attacks from others.

For Li Xiaobai, newly arrived, walking to such an easily hidden place, with no one daring to erge directly, was the standard answer.

People, complex creatures, consider much, fear much.

Indeed.

Around the river plain, within forests, grass bushes, behind boulders, several cultivators quietly peeked, glancing at Li Xiaobai.

They’d been there a while, fought several tis, eventually forming a state of separation, mutually restraining, with no one acting first.

But Li Xiaobai’s appearance exceeded their understanding; how dared soone walk openly, not afraid of becoming a target?

"Who is that person? Anyone recognize him?"

"No idea, strange, all our chest tags have nas, but his chest tag only bears ’Assassination Squad of Hegemonic City’!"

"Assassination Squad? Could it be the legendary squad of the organization?"

"But the Assassination Squad doesn’t belong to Hegemonic City. I’ve seen Hegemonic City’s prodigies, ethereal in presence; this one’s temperant doesn’t match."

"Shall we attack?"

"Don’t fret, let’s observe. If others act first, we might benefit as the fisherman."

Hidden cultivators conferred and quickly agreed to wait for others to act and took advantage.

But the scene that unfolded shocked them; the young cultivator on the plain stretched and lay down.

Is he a master or a fool? Completely defenseless!

Despite powerful Laws, such lack of vigilance couldn’t be right?

"Can’t tolerate Red Guoguo’s contempt, I’m going to face him!"

A cultivator couldn’t hold back, blurred into motion, flashed before Li Xiaobai, raised a fist aiming to kill.

However, the next instant, his body was suddenly chopped into several pieces, falling in a pool of blood.

Moreover, on the empty space beside Li Xiaobai appeared several corpses, all dismbered, lying in blood, their faces vaguely recognizable were those hiding with the previous cultivator.

Silence fell around, everyone was shocked.

They hadn’t seen how Li Xiaobai acted, nor where the extra corpses ca from, didn’t even blink, suddenly several had died, too eerie.

And they confird the young cultivator lay on the ground all along, barely changed his position.

"Who saw how they died?"

"Could it be the young cultivator wasn’t alone, deliberately lying there to attract attacks, while his companions harvest from the shadows?"

"No, we watched him walk from upstream, never spotting companions."

Cultivators plunged into confusion; they’d never seen such, not even knowing how people died.

But after the shock, greater was the restless itch, because the corpses beside Li Xiaobai bore Space Rings.

All resources; even without attacking Li Xiaobai, just retrieving the corpses would earn blood profit, enough to tempt many.

Silence lingered for a quarter-hour, finally, soone couldn’t hold back.

Two figures dashed from behind a boulder, left and right rushing at Li Xiaobai, clearly intending to take the corpses, then flee.

But in an instant, two cultivators lost their heads; the heads drew a graceful arc in the air, rolling to the ground.

anwhile, companions hidden behind the boulder inexplicably appeared on the plain, bodies chopped into pieces, the scene eerily extre.

At that mont, everyone saw clearly, no companions, not even felt cultivation level fluctuations, as if the ti of killing was skipped.

No one dared approach again; two groups dead, discerned a pattern: anyone rushing out ant disaster for their hidden companions.

"Too powerful; he must possess so special Law."

"But it seems only if we don’t offend him first, he won’t act. Thinking differently, this might beco the safest area; this master purges all challengers, invisibly granting us his protection!"
