"This..."
"Three more people showed up?"
Yu Huan Shui took a sharp breath when he saw the corner of the wall clearly.
After he sat in the chair, two humanoid figures replaced him and Li Xiaobai in the empty corner, and there was even a third impostor walking towards Jiang Que, tapping him on the shoulder.
He had thought there might be a fifth person, but he never imagined there would be so many.
How could this be played, with three impostors and two players? Who could figure this out?
"Gate of Destiny!"
Yu Huan Shui shouted, wanting to directly modify the mories of Jiang Que and Da Jianbi to remind them of the situation.
However, the Law of Power beca ineffective before it had gone far.
"It’s useless; only those sitting in the chairs can communicate with each other. We can’t convey ssages to them."
Li Xiaobai shook his head and said.
The ti suspension could work, but no matter how far he walked, he would return to the chair the mont ti resud.
Unable to pass the information.
"Following this order, isn’t Jiang Que the only one who can act?"
As his vision resud, Yu Huan Shui saw through the ga’s nuances.
"Yes, this ga is actually a solo ga, selecting one player to remain till the end, letting the other three players leave the corners."
"When Jiang Que dealt with the first impostor in the fourth round, it was actually a critical point. Not only did I have to sit out, but I also had to make a choice. If I chose to stay and continue the ga, then the subsequent impostors would appear behind , and it would be up to to handle them."
"Similarly, if you had just chosen to continue the ga, the next impostor would have appeared behind you, for you to handle, and Jiang Que would be rendered ineffective."
"But the players who first interacted with the impostor are only Jiang Que and . We have the most information. Without direct contact with the first impostor, you and Da Jianbi cannot grasp the full picture of the ga."
Li Xiaobai said, this ga seed very complex, but it was actually a selection ga. Unconditionally trust soone, fully entrust them to handle things, and the ga could smoothly conclude, so the selection of that person was extrely critical.
Between him and Jiang Que, he chose to entrust Jiang Que, after all, the first impostor was dealt with by Jiang Que, and he possessed more information than Li Xiaobai.
"I see, which ans after Da Jianbi leaves the corner, four impostors would appear."
"What a sinister ga, normally even if one suspected, they wouldn’t dare kill everyone in the four corners, right?"
Yu Huan Shui was deeply shocked; if an impostor appeared behind him, he wouldn’t be confident in accurately eliminating them all.
The vicious part of this ga is either not killing any, allowing five people to function normally without a blank corner,
or having to eliminate all impostors without leaving one.
Because if an impostor makes it to the blank corner, undoubtedly, he would take the chair, and the player would be dood from there.
"The next round will be the key to victory, just watch."
...
Corner of the wall.
Jiang Que felt soone tap lightly on his shoulder.
No sound of coughing.
"Good, very good, Yu Huan Shui should have left the corner; I will end this round."
"Leave it to ; entrusting everything to is the right move!"
Jiang Que breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.
He needed to consecutively eliminate three people.
This is no trouble at all.
Three executioners erged from the [Peach Blossom Spring Record] and instantly killed three impostors.
Jiang Que verified each head one by one, confirming they were all faceless, and only then did he relax.
He moved to the next corner, tapping Da Jianbi on the shoulder.
This ti, Da Jianbi made no unnecessary movents and imdiately stepped forward, feeling his way to the front corner.
No one.
Finally.
An empty spot appeared in front of him as well.
"I am completely clueless about the situation; with no coughing sound, why is there an empty spot?"
"I feel completely absent presence, knowing nothing. Was it sothing others did due to my excessively safe position?"
"Can I proceed to the house’s central seat like this?"
Da Jianbi pondered for a mont.
The ability of the [Maze of Lies] is utterly ineffective in a space where perception is completely blocked.
Moreover, being unclear of the situation, he missed this round; it is hard to say if there will be an empty spot next ti.
He should leave; in this ga, he is, in fact, a burdenso role.
"Leave it to the others, behind is Jiang Que; I hope the next round you encounter an empty spot too."
Da Jianbi silently prayed in his heart, then turned and left the corner.
The room was eerily silent.
Jiang Que held his breath, ntally counting the rhythm of his breathing, over twenty breaths, and yet no one tapped his shoulder.
After at least ten more breaths, his shoulder was finally tapped.
"There you have it, no coughing sound!"
"Perfect, now there’s only left!"
Jiang Que’s eyes sparkled.
"Wait, can’t celebrate too early. Half the strong ones who died at my hands were overconfident in victory and thus careless, giving an edge. I must not repeat their low mistakes."
"There is still plenty of ti, and no need to worry about others now; I have ample ti to think."
Jiang Que reminded himself to be cautious the closer he was to success, as traps often lay in such places.
"Let’s sort things out once more."
"Currently, there are four impostors and myself. If I want to ensure an empty spot, I must kill all impostors as before. However, here’s the issue: if I kill them all, who will tap my shoulder?"
"If I leave the impostor behind , who will tap their shoulder?"
Jiang Que suddenly realized the severity of the problem.
The prior habitual thinking was to kill all the impostors behind him, then let the player upfront take the empty spot and leave the corner, and then that corner would have another impostor to fill in and move forward.
But there’s no one else now.
For Jiang Que to move forward, he must leave the impostor behind him to tap his shoulder. But the one who taps his shoulder also needs soone to tap theirs. Isn’t this an infinite loop?
"What if I kill the person upfront? So far, for the ga’s integrity, no one among us has taken action to kill an impostor up front; it’s always killing those behind, to avoid stalling."
"But now, being the only one left, I can’t care anymore."
Jiang Que began to move forward, tapping the person upfront on the shoulder, and then an executioner followed behind.
Once that person occupied the next corner, the executioner killed them, thus leaving it empty in front.
One must admit, being deprived of perception is agonizing. Unable to see, hear, the only assurance of ti passing is one’s own breath.
In that mont, Jiang Que felt ti stretching long.
Suppressing agitation, he calmly waited.
Finally, after a round passed, his shoulder was tapped again.
Jiang Que touched the wall and couldn’t wait to jog forward, but as he ran, he collided head-on with a figure; there was soone in the front corner!
To prevent the ga from stalling, the impostor upfront cannot be killed; even if killed, another would imdiately appear in replacent.
It was at this mont that Jiang Que truly realized the perils of the ga.
The condition to pass isn’t for four players to sit in chairs, but to ensure that as the four leave the corners, the ga can still run smoothly.
"How can this be? If the impostor upfront can’t be killed, how do I leave the corner?"
"Does this an, from the start, this ga never intended for us to leave alive?"
