I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense Chapter 1977 - 2005: Game Name: Forsaken by All
Li Xiaobai and the other three paused in front of the small wooden cabin, drawing the attention of many cultivators.
It’s not often that people co to challenge this place.
"Who are they?"
"Didn’t you watch the battle at the Divine Children’s Garden? Three of those four are cultivators representing the Universe, top young talents."
"So it’s them. They must have just arrived. Going in without even gathering intel, that’s quite confident. Do they not know that failure ans death?"
"Judging from their performance at the Divine Children’s Garden, they must have so strategy or experience."
More and more cultivators gathered, pointing and talking about the four.
"Let’s go in."
The four ignored them, pushing the door open and entering directly.
The room was spacious, dimly lit by flickering torches. In the center stood four chairs arranged in a circle.
There was a paper on the chair, which contained the ga instructions.
Li Xiaobai stepped forward, picked it up, and read: "Ga Na: Betrayed by Everyone."
"When the fla goes out, the ga automatically begins."
"The four of you stand in the corners of the room. One of you walks to the front corner and taps the shoulder of the person ahead. That person then proceeds to tap the next person’s shoulder, and so on. When one reaches an empty corner, they should cough twice and continue."
"When there’s soone ahead, you must stop where that person is."
"After three rounds, the cultivator who reaches an empty corner goes to sit on the chair in the center. If all four participants sit on the chairs, you pass the trial; otherwise, you fail and beco part of the ga."
"[Note: When the ga begins, you’re gagged and can only cough.]"
The ga’s instructions were easy to understand. As the note said, each round soone would reach an empty corner. If nothing interfered, they could pass quickly.
"Looks like the danger is hidden after the third round."
Jiang Que said.
"The first three rounds are probably for us to get familiar with the ga. After that, sothing should happen; otherwise, it’d be too simple."
Li Xiaobai agreed.
"I’ll be at position one, Jiang Que at two, Da Jianbi at three, Yu Huan Shui at four. Any objections?"
Li Xiaobai numbered the corners and assigned positions.
The three had no objections since they didn’t know what would happen next, so there was no point in arguing over positions.
The four stood at their respective corners. A faint light went out, plunging the room into complete darkness.
"This room has a shielding effect, blocking off senses, eliminating vision—complete Dark Space."
Li Xiaobai murmured to himself, expecting this.
Then, the ga began, and Jiang Que at position two moved forward to tap his shoulder.
In the darkness, Li Xiaobai waited, realizing he couldn’t even hear Jiang Que’s footsteps—such thorough sensory blocking.
After a while, he felt his shoulder tapped, taking a total of eleven breaths.
He then moved forward and tapped the shoulder of Yu Huan Shui, spending twelve breaths.
Yu Huan Shui moved forward, tapped Da Jianbi’s shoulder, and Da Jianbi continued, reaching an empty corner where Jiang Que had initially stood, coughed twice, and kept moving.
That completed one round.
Nothing unusual happened; everything went smoothly as they followed the ga’s rules, moving and tapping shoulders until three rounds were over.
In the third round, Yu Huan Shui coughed and moved on.
The fourth round.
Li Xiaobai’s turn ca.
This round, he was supposed to encounter an empty corner, coughed twice, and moved to the next, where Jiang Que stood.
However, as he felt the wall and cautiously moved forward to the next corner, he suddenly realized soone was there!
That person was just a step away from him, within reach.
Who could it be?
They were engaged in a life-and-death trial; no one would play a prank.
Which ant when this round began, a fifth person appeared among them, making the room hold five people!
"I see, so that’s how it is. That ans no empty corner anymore."
"I’m supposed to be a key player now because I can confirm that the person ahead of is a fake."
"Sitting on a chair ans reaching an empty corner, so I have to kill the impostor ahead before continuing another round. But the ga rules say stopping when there’s soone ahead, unable to proceed."
"Even if I kill him here, I can’t move forward, which ans no one will tap Jiang Que’s shoulder, and the ga gets stuck."
Li Xiaobai touched his chin, deep in thought.
The impostor ahead stood silently, making no sound.
Though he wanted to know the consequences of killing the impostor, there’s only one life, and it wasn’t worth the risk.
To create an empty spot, Jiang Que had to act, waiting for the impostor to tap his shoulder so he could kill the impostor and continue. Then next round, Li Xiaobai would reach an empty spot.
The ti he lingered in this corner was lengthy, silently hinting to the others.
Thinking this, Li Xiaobai firmly grabbed the shoulder of the person in front.
The sensation was unfamiliar, and from the feel, he’d touched the person’s collarbone—from behind, you can’t touch the collarbone. So, this guy was facing him all along?
How disgusting.
But after the shoulder tap, the impostor left, heading towards Jiang Que.
At this mont, Jiang Que’s mind raced.
The fourth round started with a hitch. This ga is straightforward.
This round should have had Li Xiaobai cough at an empty spot.
Yet he hadn’t heard a cough, and he knew Li Xiaobai typically took about twelve breaths to reach the next person, but now, over forty breaths had passed, and he hadn’t co over.
If Li Xiaobai sat on the chair, then Yu Huan Shui would have to cough twice to reach his spot.
Did he discover sothing, or did sothing happen?
Just at that mont, a light tap was felt on his shoulder.
Jiang Que froze.
Forty-nine breaths!
It took forty-nine breaths for soone to tap his shoulder, without any coughing sound.
This wasn’t Li Xiaobai’s usual speed; he had lingered at the empty spot.
Who was behind him, Li Xiaobai or sothing else?
If it were Li Xiaobai, why not cough? Was there so restriction on him?
"Could it be that at the supposed empty corner, Li Xiaobai encountered soone else, so he pondered or intentionally delayed to alert , isn’t that right?"
"If there’s an intrusion among us, then the empty spot wouldn’t be possible. I must eliminate whatever’s behind . But if I’m wrong, and nothing’s intruded, what if Li Xiaobai faced so situation and was slow?"
"Damn it, I was pondering earlier and didn’t note the touch feel when my shoulder was tapped to compare it to before."
