Capítulo 1897: Chapter 1924: Combat Experience vs. [Protagonist Halo]
Li Xiaobai was still using words to confuse the opponent. In fact, he had noticed a crucial point: Lady Bai’s Law of Chaos was taking effect.
He released Lady Bai’s corpse from the Pure Land of Extre Evil, hiding it underground, and then covered the thin killing intent of the Law of Chaos with his own killing aura, making it undetectable to Bai Zhen.
But Bai Zhen’s behavior didn’t show any signs of losing his mind until the mont he was almost beheaded. Li Xiaobai saw a fierce look rise in his eyes, and his emotions surged instantly, becoming irritable.
However, after the appearance of the Visualized Item called [Protagonist Halo], his emotions were very well controlled.
This ans that the opponent is not immune to the power of the Law of Chaos; it’s just that to make him completely fall into anger requires ti to subtly change him, or to frequently subject him to the threat of death.
“Kill!”
Bai Zhen, with the [Protagonist Halo] above his head, charged towards Li Xiaobai.
Li Xiaobai pinched a talisman and turned to run, not engaging Bai Zhen head-on at all.
Watching the Divine Child relentlessly pursue him from behind, Li Xiaobai realized that the [Protagonist Halo] was not a causality-type Law; it was a power that could only be triggered in close combat.
“Why are you running!”
“Aren’t you trying to be a Godslayer? If you don’t fight , you can’t end all this!”
Bai Zhen shouted; it was the first ti he had encountered such an opponent. Li Xiaobai ran as fast as a mortal without cultivation level, relying entirely on the teleportation talisman, dodging his attacks each ti just in ti.
There’s no point in continuing this prolonged battle; his strength would gradually be exposed, while the opponent had never used any real lethal tactics, knowing only that this guy uses a sword and nothing else.
“What’s the rush? There’s no rule stating that soone has to die on the first day. But if you’re eager to die, I don’t mind sending you on your way!”
“Co, I’ll fight you!”
Li Xiaobai stopped, turned to face Bai Zhen, his battle intent climbing steadily, seeming ready to fight Bai Zhen to the death.
“Very good, this is an opponent worthy of respect!”
Bai Zhen rushed towards Li Xiaobai again, white light emanating from his hands, with faint sounds of tiger roars and dragon chants erging, but the mont they made contact, a flash of golden light, and Li Xiaobai disappeared, Bai Zhen’s hands creating a huge pit on the surface.
Dozens of feet away, Li Xiaobai stood with arms crossed, stroking his chin, nodding repeatedly.
“So, you’re the type that only fights in close combat, with no long-range attack techniques?”
“Fighting like this is tiring. Can you launch a wave or sothing? Maybe you’d hit with one.”
Li Xiaobai chuckled, as if watching a show.
Bai Zhen’s chest heaved violently, his face turned pale from anger, but the [Protagonist Halo] above his head flared, calming his heightened emotions.
That’s exactly it, the [Protagonist Halo] keeps him calm at all tis.
“You’re the type that likes to play tricks, trying to provoke and disrupt my rhythm, but you miscalculated; gods never get angry.”
Bai Zhen’s eyes were clear, the fierceness provoked by the Law of Chaos and Li Xiaobai vanished.
“I’ve already taken out one of your mbers and collected enough information, completing my task satisfactorily.”
“Since you don’t intend to fight , I’ll be on my way.”
Bai Zhen turned and left; as he had said, three people assaulted him, which ant the others were only chasing a Blinding Technique clone. He needs to return and share information with others before coming back to fight again.
Anyway, with one less enemy, the advantage was on their side.
Plop!
A stone fell precisely, hitting his forehead.
Turning around, Li Xiaobai maintained a throwing stance.
Plop!
Another stone struck his head.
No damaging power, extrely insulting.
This guy didn’t listen to what he said and threw a stone at him!
“What do you an?”
Bai Zhen’s body trembled, and the stone beneath his feet turned to powder.
The [Protagonist Halo] on his head frequently flashed, calming his emotions over and over.
He was truly enraged; no one had ever insulted him like this, too vile, too shaless, like a sticky plaster.
But the qualified Visualized Item kept him in the most rational state, so despite his displeasure, his mind remained clear.
“Co on, hit !”
“I’m telling you to hit , don’t you understand?”
“Begging to die, hit , bastard!”
Li Xiaobai took off his boots and threw them at Bai Zhen.
He didn’t believe the [Protagonist Halo] could always purify the anger; there must be a flaw, there must be a limit, he wanted to test this limit.
Bai Zhen was still struggling with his thoughts; reason and instinct told him he should leave imdiately, as entanglent often leads to unfavorable situations.
But his heart was filled with anger; even though the fury was suppressed by the [Protagonist Halo], it didn’t an the anger would disappear; he could still feel that disgusting sense of loathing.
“Plop!”
“Plop plop plop!”
More little stones were thrown his way, pelting his head from all directions.
It was the corpse puppets doing it, continuously picking up stones to throw at him, so nearby puppets even raised a small stick to hit him.
“Courting death!”
No matter how good-tempered Bai Zhen was, he couldn’t hold back now. He slapped the corpse into pieces and shook all the stones into dust.
His figure blurred as he charged at Li Xiaobai.
Li Xiaobai resorted to his old tricks, golden light flashing, disappearing once again.
However, Bai Zhen ignored his escape and charged directly into the army of corpses, starting a massacre. His target was not Li Xiaobai, but the one hiding behind controlling the corpses.
“This also shows that the [Protagonist Halo] cannot completely quell his anger. If he remained absolutely calm, he definitely wouldn’t have charged over.”
“I want to ignite this anger, nurturing it into a blaze of Fen Tian!”
Li Xiaobai, standing on a golden chariot and holding the Great Treasured Sword, chased after Bai Zhen.
Demon-Sealing Sword Qi!
The sky filled with dazzling Sword Qi, slashing towards Bai Zhen. This was Sword Qi that could sever his limbs, so it must be evaded.
“I knew you would co to obstruct . If I’m not mistaken, among the three of you, you are the leader, while the other two probably can’t withstand a single move from .”
“Then I insist on taking him down to expand our advantage!”
Bai Zhen’s speed increased as he transford into a white teor, charging directly at the Jiang Que-masked clone.
The speed was too fast; the clone couldn’t dodge and was pierced through the chest with a punch.
Behind, Li Xiaobai’s face changed dramatically.
“Jiang Que!”
“How dare you kill my brother. Today, you won’t leave here alive!”
Li Xiaobai thrust his sword, only for it to be shattered by Bai Zhen, who then followed with a palm strike that crushed his chest. Xiaobai spewed blood, tumbling several tis before collapsing, lifeless.
At that mont, the surrounding army of corpses also fell to the ground, becoming ownerless.
“Hahaha, so you’re just another third-rate talent from the mortal world, is that it?”
“This doesn’t even satisfy , not in the slightest!”
“It seems this won’t take much longer; I was being overly cautious!”
“Let’s return; if luck is on our side, we can end the battlefield today.”
Bai Zhen laughed loudly, but not cheerfully – it was laughter born of frustration, at himself for being cautious against these third-rate opponents.
Reflecting on how he hadn’t seen through his opponent’s strength made him reconsider his earlier inclination to retreat, ridiculous now, much like an elephant wary of an ant.
Having laughed enough, he prepared to leave.
Even after killing three people, he felt no satisfaction, only more tension, believing himself sowhat foolish.
Recalling the scene just now, it beca a lifelong blot on his reputation.
It’s all the fault of this insolent brat!
“Crack.”
A faint sound echoed.
Very soft, like the gentle rustling of wind over grass.
But Bai Zhen caught it, turned to look, and saw nothing; the corpses lay still.
Yet when he turned again to leave, another crackling sound ca.
He turned to look, again seeing nothing.
The corpses lay there… still.
Hmm?
Why did he feel that obnoxious guy’s body had moved further away?
Standing still and observing, nothing seed out of place, thinking his senses were mistaken, he turned away to leave.
Crack!
The sound echoed again. This ti Bai Zhen sharpened his ears, pinpointing the source: near Li Xiaobai’s corpse.
Looking closely, the body was indeed further away; it was moving, the guy wasn’t dead after all!
“How dare you play dead; you have lost even the last shred of dignity as a cultivator.”
Bai Zhen was both shocked and angry. The [Protagonist Halo] had been removed; this ti his emotions didn’t calm, and his killing intent surged as he approached the body.
Without a word, he punched again, piercing the chest.
The corpse’s head moved slightly, revealing a seam at the jaw, catching Bai Zhen’s attention.
“Is this a Human Skin Mask?”
“He had a Human Skin Mask on, so what I saw earlier wasn’t his true face?”
Focusing intently, Bai Zhen reached out to tear off the mask.
But at the mont he saw the face beneath, his back suddenly felt a warm sensation. Looking down, he saw a blood-stained longsword protruding from his chest, twisting inside him.
“I’ve been tricked!”
“Damn it!”
In disbelief, Bai Zhen crushed the sword blade in his grip, then swung both palms backward.
Yet his strike found no target. Instead, he felt his ankle seized, pulled by a trendous force, and the world spun around him as he was hurled to the ground.
Grappling with his opponent, he finally saw the ambusher’s face: the sa obnoxious guy!
He’d never even fought him; the body he first killed was crafted by the puppet puppeteer, who had deliberately made noises on the corpse to lure him close. When he concentrated on removing the Human Skin Mask, that’s when he was struck!
“Without the experience of life-and-death battles, in our world, no matter the situation, one should never retract their Visualized Items, let alone their Law of Power!”
“You were defeated by experience, Bai Zhen, and that’s why you’re dying!”
Li Xiaobai drew another sword, stabbing it into Bai Zhen’s left shoulder, pinning him firmly to the ground.
Bai Zhen struggled madly, this ti the threat of death felt more intense than when his limbs were cut. He shouted, “Protagonist’s Halo!”
“Waiting for this mont, Fifty-Fifty!”
