Late at night, accompanied by a misty drizzle, the streets were nearly empty of pedestrians. Cars hurriedly passed by, splashing through puddles of water.

The last bus slowly pulled into the station, and a thin young man stumbled toward the door, waiting for the driver to open it.

"Hey! Are you alright?" the driver turned back and asked, concerned about his only passenger.

"I'm fine." The young man squinted, drowsy. As the door opened, he held the handle to step down. Suddenly, he stumbled and fell directly into a puddle.

The driver noticed this in his rearview mirror and hurriedly got out to check on him. Just as he was about to speak, he saw that the young man had already closed his eyes.

...

Countless fragnted images flashed endlessly in his mind, many with a nightmarish the.

A giant evil dragon, teors breaking through the clouds, thousands of black-armored troops, mountain peaks towering into the clouds...

The scattered images filled his brain, his overtaxed ntal graphics card rapidly heating up.

Finally, the images stopped. The last one showed a young woman looking down in disbelief at the blade that had pierced through her back. She collapsed to the ground, ultimately falling into darkness.

Lin Nan suddenly awoke.

He saw a white ceiling and looked around to find himself in a hospital room.

"Awake?"

Beside him was a young man his age, with a reassuring square face, dressed in black, broad-shouldered and sturdy – at first glance, he could have been mistaken for a gangster.

"Why are you here? Where am I? I..." After several questions, Lin Nan's eyes beca confused, and he finally mumbled, "Who am I?"

"Did you fry your brain or sothing?" The young man beside him sneered, "You were out in the rain with a high fever, of course you collapsed. Lucky I was passing by, otherwise your dad would've killed you!"

"Huh?" Lin Nan looked at him in complete confusion, his head swimming. The familiar face gradually beca unfamiliar, and he unconsciously tilted his head slightly, frowning as he asked, "Who are you?"

"Maybe you really did fry your brain?" The young man was montarily speechless, then explained helplessly, "I'm your classmate from middle school through university, your roommate. We play League together."

"???" His head tilted even more, the feminine gesture sohow not seeming out of place on Lin Nan.

"I'm your daddy, Chen Yao."

Upon hearing these words, Lin Nan's gaze suddenly cleared, and as if by reflex, he cursed, "I'm your daddy! Next ti I won't play support for you! Damn!"

"Shit, keep pretending. I really thought sothing was wrong with your head." Chen Yao stood up, looking annoyed as he urged, "Hurry up and get up, the doctor said you can go ho once you're awake."

His head wasn't spinning anymore, and it didn't hurt either. Although he still felt occasionally confused, Lin Nan nimbly got up and followed Chen Yao out of the hospital room. After all, hospital stays weren't cheap.

After completing the paperwork and collecting the remaining fees, they left the hospital. Lin Nan looked at the noon sky with so surprise.

"What ti is it?"

"Eleven o'clock. You collapsed at ten last night, and you've been sleeping for thirteen hours." Chen Yao had his hands in his pockets, yawning continuously. "I barely slept all night, and your dad too—I couldn't even get through on the phone."

"He's out driving trucks, probably just changed shifts," Lin Nan casually explained about his father.

But as he spoke, he once again fell into confusion. In his mind, many images of his father appeared—one was a truck driver who often went on business trips, while the other was an extrely strict father who had taught him magic since childhood.

Chen Yao didn't notice Lin Nan's confusion and was chatting with soone on his phone while trying to flag down a private motorcycle taxi on the street.

About ten minutes later, Lin Nan arrived ho.

He still had a serious question in his mind: Who am I?

Lin Nan's ho was located in an urban village in the center of the county town, in a three-story self-built building, with his family long-term renting the third floor.

When he arrived at his front door, he opened it with his key, removed his sneakers, placed them on the shoe rack, and walked into the house barefoot.

It was a two-bedroom apartnt, and although clean and tidy, hardly any furniture was visible, making it look extrely sparse.

He didn't pay much attention to this and went straight to his bedroom.

His bedroom was rather small. A bed, a computer desk, and a simple wardrobe bought online squeezed into the tiny room, filling it completely.

Lin Nan sat on the bed, his brows furrowed, his expression alternating between confusion and sudden understanding.

Drawing on his rich experience reading novels, he gradually figured out what had happened.

A soul from another world, Lilith, had entered his body. Lilith should have been extrely powerful, but for so unknown reason, Lin Nan had absorbed her soul, causing his soul to undergo a transformation as well.

Lilith was a witch from another world, roughly equivalent to the status of a Demon King. She had lived for over three hundred years, with imnse power, and her vast mories had confused Lin Nan's mories and even affected his cognition.

He looked down at his tightly closed legs, sighed deeply, and spread them apart, sitting casually with legs spread wide like he used to.

Although there weren't many problems with his mories anymore, his body still seed to be influenced by that soul.

For instance, his body would sotis involuntarily make Lilith's habitual movents. These subconscious actions were hard for him to notice.

For example, he would involuntarily speak the language of the other world.

And moreover, Lin Nan seed to have learned how to use magic.

Although he was about to beco a second-year university student, the dormant chuunibyou fire in his heart was now burning fiercely.

"Spirit of Fire! Heed my call! Fireball!"

While shouting these "incantations" that he had just made up in a chuunibyou manner, he stretched out his hands, adjusting his body according to the mories. Gradually, his palms began to warm, a fla flickering montarily in one.

He grunted in pain as if his heart had been struck by a heavy hamr, unable to breathe for a mont.

But then he received so strange information.

Magic required the consumption of mana. This was indisputable. But this was Earth, where mana in the air was extrely scarce, and this fireball spell that should have been the size of a washbasin could only produce a spark in his palm.

Moreover, each type of magic required a "key" to unlock it. For example, the key to the fireball spell was to place your hands over a fla for thirty minutes, experiencing the violence of fire to unlock the magic circuit for the fireball spell. Otherwise, the spell would fail and result in mana backlash, like what just happened.

Furthermore, the key to the levitation spell was to jump from a height of a hundred ters, experiencing the fluidity of wind to use the levitation spell.

"Isn't this basically asking to die?"

Lin Nan discovered with frustration that his cheeks were puffing up again.

He slapped his cheeks hard several tis. He wasn't a woman, nor was he so cute bishonen – if he showed such feminine gestures in public, he'd definitely be called a sissy.

While these elental magic unlocks were extrely harsh, other types of magic seed to have relatively easier unlock conditions.

Transformation magic: unlocked by cross-dressing.

So basically, it was either life-threatening or dignity-threatening?
