The scent was everywhere in Rin’s room. Rin saw that Lucien wasn’t moving anymore and frowned.

’What’s up with that dude now? Why the hell isn’t he leaving?’

Lucien turned back fast, his expression... dark. He stord to the bed and grabbed Rin by the wrist.

"W... What now?" Rin yelped. "What the hell?"

Lucien shoved him down onto the mattress, pinning his legs with one knee.

Rin struggled to kick but he was unable to move his legs.

"Get off! What are you doing?! Just fuck off!"

Lucien didn’t answer. He pressed his nose to Rin’s throat, then his jaw... then his lips.

Sniffing and searching.

Rin tried to scream and thrash, but he didn’t want to get caught by the staff around who didn’t even know him.

"L-Lucien... fuck! Just stop—!" He bit his lower lip, stopping himself from letting out any weird sounds. He could feel Lucien’s hot breath hitting his neck and ear.

His weak and wobbly hands can’t even push him off and it was too late.

Lucien found it.

Theron’s scent. The one that was right on Rin’s lips.

His entire body stiffened as he tightened his fingers that were wrapped around Rin’s hand.

And then...

Lucien kissed him hard and roughly.

It wasn’t like Theron’s careful, tender kisses. This one was forceful and devouring, filled with heat. Their teeth and tongue clashed. Lucien didn’t seem like he was stopping anyti soon. He looked so possessive and overpowering.

Rin gasped, muffled by the force. Lucien wasn’t asking Rin for permission. He was obviously claiming.

Rin clawed at his chest, his hair, his arms. Lucien didn’t stop.

Rin panicked. He had to stop whatever was happening or he’ll go into heat. He didn’t want that, so he bit Lucien hard.

Lucien flinched and finally tore away, blood dripping from his mouth.

Rin trembled as he was pinned to the bed.

Lucien stood slowly, chest heaving.

"What is wrong with ? Nothing," he smirked as he adjusted his shirt. "However, if I see him near you again... Theron... I’ll kill soone and that soone would be him."

Rin’s stomach turned cold.

"Lucien..."

"I’m serious baby lamb," he growled. "You’re mine, and no breathing thing should go close to you, including..." He paused and looked at Niblet.

He leaned in one last ti, kissing Rin’s neck. Licking the mark there. This ti, he’s being soft.

"I washed him off your body. Now you sll like ."

Then Lucien walked to the door. He suddenly paused, looked back and smiled.

"Goodnight, Rin."

He closed the door behind him.

Rin didn’t move from that spot. He lay on the bed, fingers trembling, lips red, chest rising and falling.

He definitely read that this book was a dark romance reverse harem blah-blah-blah. He knew it was part of the story. The obsessive Alpha. The possessive lover. The threats. The torture. The forced intimate stuff.

It wasn’t supposed to be him going through all of that shit. It wasn’t supposed to feel real.

He didn’t even like Alphas after he read the story and found out what evil things they did to have the female lead for themselves. He thought the storyline and the dark romance wouldn’t happen since he was there...

But Lucien’s eyes proved otherwise.

He hadn’t seen that kind of rage before and now, if Theron ever ca near him again...

Lucien would kill him.

Theron smiled softly as he entered the clinic, carrying a small paper bag.

He had been up all night, planning, overthinking and hoping Rin would accept the apology, the sweets and the gifts. He felt the other nurses’ gaze on him and chose to ignore them as he walked towards Rin’s desk.

"Good morning, Rin," he greeted, with a smile and placed the paper bag on it.

But Rin didn’t even look at him. He kept scribbling whatever on the paper, trying to be serious and pretending Theron wasn’t standing there.

"Rin, I made them myself..." Theron whispered.

Rin lifted his head to look at it. A smile blood on Theron’s face, and after a few seconds, it imdiately disappeared.

He watched as Rin took the gift and threw it in the trash, right in front of everyone.

’I’m sorry, Theron. This is for you to survive!’

Theron stood there, lips parting slightly, stunned.

The nurses whispered.

"Did they fight?"

"Maybe it’s because Rin rejected him."

"No way... isn’t Theron’s rut in five days?

"Five? You an, four days?"

Elna, nearby, sipped her tea smugly. She was enjoying what was happening. Oh, she definitely was.

’Good. He should keep rejecting him. Maybe if Theron gets angry and fires him, I’ll finally get closer to my one and only.’

But her smile faltered as she watched Theron sigh... then picked out a different bottle of perfu and quietly set it by Rin’s desk.

"You don’t like sweets? I got these for you"

He still kept trying, hoping that none of his advances would fail.

Elna got even angrier, seeing that Theron wasn’t giving up.

"I don’t need your perfu, head doctor. Please... Just please, stop trying..." Rin spoke in a low voice and bowed 70°. He lifted his head and walked past him again. There was no single glance from Rin, nor was there any smile.

It was finally the weekend

They still worked at the clinic, but it was light. There weren’t more students barging in, hoping to be cured.

Thanks to that, Rin packed early and fast. He had no plans of seeing Theron again, not when his rut was tomorrow.

But Theron stood at the door, blocking the exit as if he read Rin’s mind.

"Rin," he said gently. "Why are you avoiding ?"

Rin refused to look at him. He would pass another exit if there was one.

"Move."

"You don’t hate . You’re just trying to push away so I’ll stop ’that night’from happening,"

"You’ve got that right. Shouldn’t you hate because of that? I’ve sullied your reputation because you wish to spend your rut with a man,"

Theron reached for him... just his sleeve.

A snap echoed through the room.

Then... CRASH!

Theron’s face hit the floor hard, with a hand around his throat, slamming him down.

Rin lifted his head to see who it was.

Dorian.

Since he was a shadow servant, he always had a blank and cold expression.

"Get off of him now, Dorian!"

"Forgive , but... It’s the Master’s orders," he said simply.

"Mas...ters? Are you talking about..."

Rin turned his head and, just there, across the clinic, the blinds on the window lifted slightly.

Lucien stood behind them, watching.

"Do I have to kill him here... and now?"
