"Why did you try for three seconds?" Nova asked Pierre.

"I can't stop a skill if I use it," Pierre answered.

"That is correct. This is the number one issue. You will be fighting against higher-level enemies and you will need to act fast.

What happens if you can't stop in the middle of a movent? During these three seconds, I could kill that guy tens of tis. And even if I couldn't kill, I could at least injure him.

The reverse is also true! He couldn't extend the movent beyond three seconds if he needed to.

What if he needed to hold longer, even if he couldn't tackle ?

This is only the biggest issue! The second issue is the power he spent. The power applied in a skill is preset.

So, what if he needed to tackle one of the mage or summoner girls there? He would still apply the sa amount of power he applied on and get tired earlier.

This is not limited to the warriors. Every class is the sa.

A priest doesn't need to use their full power to heal a scratch.

A summoner doesn't need to summon their full contractees for a small thing and then dispel them while they can just summon their contractee's body part—mouth, for example, for a bite.

The mages could use a spell with lower mana cost unlike when they are using skills.

The differences are not limited to this. The distance is preset. The power is preset. The timing is preset.

They are also limited by what you know. If a mage needs to levitate sothing, they shouldn't try to find that skill. Instead, they should use their magic to create that ability.

So, your skills are trash. Just leave them!"

Arlon already knew that he was right. This was the reason he never learned skills after the initial start.

Of course, he needed it at the beginning, but now that he could use spells, he didn't need them.

Arlon's goal during this week was to learn warrior abilities.

"So, from today forward, you are forbidden from using skills. You will et with your respective trainers and learn how to gain abilities.

Ah! There was one issue. We don't have any crystal to evaluate magic powers. So, the mage girl and dragon boy will need to go and use the evaluation crystals in the West Training Grounds."

The mage girl was June and the dragon boy was Arlon. It seed like Nova didn't learn nas well.

They nodded and the first part of their learning ended, so, while others moved into the inner rooms, Arlon and June went to the west training grounds.

Unlike what Arlon thought would happen, June was also smitten with the dragon's cuteness. So, while she hesitated to ask at first, she requested to hold her on the way.

When they arrived at the training grounds, it was filled to the brim with the military personnel.

Soone ca and greeted them. They knew that Arlon and June were coming.

So, under the eyes of many, they moved to the empty field where many Maguses were training.

When they entered, everyone looked at them with curiosity.

Maguses were always inclined to do research, and the dragon took their attention, so the training stopped.

"Everyone, these are two of the saviors invited by Lord Zephyrion. They will evaluate their magic with the crystals," the man introduced them.

"Thank you for having us," June said.

At one corner of the field, there was a table with ten ball-like crystals on top. It was similar to the communication crystal or the crystal fortune tellers used on Earth.

The trainer in charge of the Maguses training moved toward the table and talked to the players.

"Nice to et you, I am in charge of the training here. Let show you how to use this crystal."

He took one of the crystals off the table.

"You hold it with both hands and infuse mana. When you do that, a color will be seen in the crystal. It will show the level of your magic vessels."

The trainer explained the colors, "White ans you have common magic vessels. Then cos yellow, red, purple, and blue in the ascending order. After the color fades, there will be another colored light, which will show your affinity to the elents."

In the anti, he infused his own mana into the crystal. The crystal shined purple and everyone wowed with admiration.

Most Maguses would get white color and blue was really rare. If a magus showed blue light, the Magus Council would imdiately contact and take them under their wings.

And then, that person would probably have one of the top seats in the council.

So, purple was among the best.

After a few seconds, the purple light dimd out. But then, two small ball-like lights shined, one red and one yellow.

The two balls were circling each other in the middle of the crystal. The trained explained that he had fire and lightning affinity.

It was common to have two or three affinities since there were an abundant amount of elents unlike what it was thought on Earth.

"Give it a try," the trainer said to June.

June gave Nyx to Arlon and took the ball. Then, she began making weird faces. Well, it was her first ti trying to infuse mana since she had only used skills before.

But, after a bit, she achieved infusing mana, and the ball lighted blue. Everyone made a ruckus imdiately.

Actually, it wasn't a big achievent. The Trionians didn't know this yet, but all the mage players had magic vessels corresponding to blue light.

But, since it wasn't known, even the trainer looked at her with admiration.

"Amazing! It is my first ti seeing it shine blue!" he said.

After a few seconds, the light dimd out, and then, six ball-like lights started circling each other.

These were the fire, water, lightning, wind, earth, and light elents.

Everyone was shocked once more since this was probably a first in Trion.

The crystal balls started to be used in the last hundred years, so they weren't sure about before, but it was the first in this hundred years.

But, again, it was normal for the players since they received a preset magic vessel if they chose the mage as their class.

Then, it was Arlon's turn. Everyone had already surrounded the table instead of training.

Arlon put Nyx to the ground and held the crystal ball.

Unlike June, he was already familiar with using his mana, so he imdiately infused the ball with mana.

And...

A yellow light shined. The excitent deflated imdiately.

Yellow was the second worst after white, so it was fairly common.

Until a Fairy among the Maguses, who was also training magic, shouted.

"That is not yellow!"

Everyone looked at the little Fairy with questioning eyes, but the Fairy was shaking.

"T-t-that is the legendary golden color!"

These crystals were made from a mineral excavated in the Fairies' old land. They were the first ones to realize its potential and they were using it much before the others.

Golden was a legendary color, not seen by most before.

Hearing the explanation, everyone was awed once again. Even the trainer couldn't talk and looked at the color.

After a while, the color faded out and everyone started waiting with excitent once again.

Even though they still didn't know how good the gold color was, they were expectant about what would co next.

But, this ti, again, sothing strange happened. Instead of small balls of light, the crystal shined with an ugly brown color.

It wasn't a small ball of light, but the whole crystal shined brown, and then, the ball shattered.

It broke and turned into dust.

Arlon jumped back, scared by the sudden impact and not understanding the phenona.

What did brown an?

Well, it was just all the colors jumbled up. There were many elents, and Arlon, or Agema's magic vessel, basically had an affinity with all.

But, since it was a first for everyone, no one knew what that ant.

After a few seconds of shock, the trainer talked at last, "W-we will send a ssage to the Magus Council to learn more about it. I am sorry, but we also don't know what it was..."

Magus Council would probably send researchers to examine what happened.

Arlon didn't mind. He was here for the warrior training anyway and his master was already teaching him more than necessary.

So, he just nodded and got back to his spot.

What he didn't realize was Nyx was moving toward the table.

After seeing Arlon and June, she was probably curious about the lights. So, she went to the table and took one crystal.

When everyone realized what was happening, she was already holding one.

And then, she infused mana to the crystal, imitating Arlon.
