The ice spear shot downward.
But before it could land, Arn was already gone.
A blur of movent cut through the battlefield. A gust of wind followed in his wake, kicking up dust and scattering the frost left behind by June's magic.
Zack barely registered the shift before a sharp force struck his side. He skidded across the ground, gasping as pain flared in his ribs.
Carole's eyes widened. "Where—"
Before she could finish, a sudden impact slamd into her back. Her vision blurred, and the next thing she knew, she was tumbling across the ground, her staff flying from her grip.
June barely had ti to react before Arn appeared in front of her.
Too fast!
She raised her arms just in ti to conjure a barrier. A fraction of a second later, Arn's sword slamd into it, sending cracks rippling across the surface.
June gritted her teeth, reinforcing the magic, but the impact knocked her back several feet.
Arn didn't stop.
He disappeared again—just a blur of movent—and suddenly, he was in front of Carole.
Carole tried to get up, but his blade was already swinging down.
For the first ti in the fight, she hesitated.
Ti slowed.
She knew she wouldn't dodge in ti. The blade would pierce her. And then—
She would die.
And if she died, she would never return.
This isn't like before… This isn't a ga where I can just respawn…
A flash of fire erupted between them, forcing Arn back. June appeared at Carole's side, her expression serious.
"Carole, stop being reckless!" she snapped. "Aggressiveness and determination aren't the sa thing!"
Carole swallowed hard.
"I—I just thought—"
"If you die here, you're gone!" June interrupted. "You'll wake up back on Earth, and your Zeno will be broken. You won't be able to enter EVR again."
Carole's breath caught in her throat.
Gone?
The weight of those words sank in.
This wasn't just about winning a fight. If she made one wrong move, everything would be over for her.
She clenched her fists, nodding.
June softened just a little. "We need you. You're the only healer we have. If you go down, we won't stand a chance."
Carole took a shaky breath, then steadied herself. "Alright. No more stupid risks."
June turned to Zack, who had gotten back to his feet. "We need a plan. Arn's speed is overwhelming us. We can't keep up with him like this."
"Then we don't try to keep up. We make him co to us." What Zack said made sense.
Carole nodded, gripping her staff tighter. "If we control the space, we can force him into a bad position."
June's eyes glowed as she started weaving magic. "Alright. Let's trap him."
Arn stood at a distance, watching them. His sword glead in the cold light, his stance unreadable.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone again.
But this ti, the trio was ready.
A gust of wind exploded around them as he reappeared behind Zack, sword slashing downward.
"Now!" June shouted.
Zack didn't turn to block. Instead, he jumped forward, dodging on purpose.
At the sa ti, Carole's staff slamd into the ground, releasing a burst of golden light.
Holy Bind!
Magic chains erupted beneath Arn's feet, latching onto his legs.
But Arn was faster. He twisted, slashing through the chains before they could fully lock him in place.
However, that split-second delay was all they needed.
"Got you!"
A massive explosion of ice and fire erupted from June's hands. A pillar of fla mixed with jagged spears of frost crashed into Arn before he could move.
For the first ti in the fight, a pained grunt escaped his lips.
Zack didn't waste a second.
He lunged back in, his twin swords slicing through the smoke of June's spell. Arn barely raised his blade in ti, deflecting the first strike, but the second sword cut across his arm.
Blood sprayed into the air.
Arn staggered.
Carole stepped forward, channeling another spell. This ti, she wasn't healing—she was attacking.
A golden spear of light ford above her. "Divine Lance!"
The spear shot forward at blinding speed. Arn twisted his body to avoid a direct hit, but it still grazed his side, searing through his armor.
June's eyes flickered with cold fire as she prepared another spell.
Arn's breathing was heavier now. His movents, though still fast, were losing their sharpness.
Wounds covered his body, and even with his incredible speed, he couldn't dodge everything anymore.
He charged.
June raised her hands, summoning another ice barrier. Zack moved to intercept, swords ready.
But it wasn't Zack Arn was aiming for.
At the last second, he redirected—straight toward Carole.
Her eyes widened.
She reacted a mont too late.
Arn's sword slashed toward her chest—
And stopped.
For a second, it seed like ti had frozen.

Then, blood sprayed into the air—but it wasn't Carole's.
Zack stood in front of her, his left sword buried in Arn's stomach while Arn's sword was in Zack's arm.
Arn coughed, eyes widening in shock.
"Tch... so this is it."
June finished the fight.
Raising both hands, she unleashed a final spell—a massive firestorm that engulfed Arn completely.
His body burned away in the roaring flas, fading into nothing.
A tense silence followed.
Then, Zack let out a breath, pulling his sword back.
Carole collapsed to her knees, gripping her staff.
June closed her eyes for a mont, steadying herself before turning to the others. "We won."
Carole imdiately started healing Zack.
But Zack seed happy, "Did you see that!? I was like the protagonist. Even I didn't know I could do that. It is aweso using abilities instead of skills."
He finally had the mont every boy on Earth dreamt about at least once. So, he was happy.
Also, none had died during this hard fight.
Of course, Arlon decided the teams considering this outco, but one could never know in a fight.
With that, their fight ended, so they looked at Carn, Evan, and Maria's side to see how their fight was going.
