Although Shura also maximizes his attributes at every stage through various ans, he achieves this after repeatedly risking his life, unlike Gu Shanhai, who only needs a light touch.

Though he envies Gu Shanhai, he never thought of switching systems; not all support and lifestyle players can beco like Gu Shanhai. Most are struggling just like him.

Players like Gu Shanhai are always rare.

If any lifestyle player could easily beco wealthy, the first tier wouldn't just have an oddity like Gu Shanhai in abundance.

Individual cases can never represent the whole group.

After resting for more than half an hour, Shura then got up and signaled for Gu Shanhai to open the array again.

After checking the array, Gu Shanhai opened it for him.

"It won't last much longer, fortunately, it's just being used temporarily." Gu Shanhai looked at the array full of cracks. It was already incredibly difficult for the Lantern Ghost to hold out until now, especially since it wasn't a powerful ghost but rather ordinary. If not for the Da Tianwei holding back, it might have ended up on the dining table like Yin Fenggui.

"I hope we won't need it in the next stage, otherwise it's going to be troubleso."

Gu Shanhai muttered. Although they were in the sa world, each level seems to have developed different scenarios due to the remnants of the All Ghosts Survival Platform and the Bai Gui Sect.

...

'Damn, I must escape quickly; otherwise, I might be trapped in here to death.' The Drowning Ghost's expression was gloomy.

Three days ago, he fell into a trap.

In recent days, although the Da Tianwei had been difficult with him, it wasn't overly dangerous. In this situation, his vigilance had gradually relaxed.

This led him to want to explore the basent, to grasp as much information as possible. Otherwise, who knew if this human would turn against him.

He naturally trusted the live broadcast barrage sent by fellow ghosts rather than the attitude of humans toward him these days.

Having been confined for three days, he knew that this human would not let him off easily.

He had considered leaving the basent, but his body not only suppressed his ghost abilities but, being a child, he didn't even have the strength to forcibly break through the door.

The other party had locked it directly from outside the basent.

It was fortunate he wasn't purely human, otherwise, these three days would have been enough to starve him into collapse.

"Heh, save your struggle, better conserve your strength." The voice of Da Tianwei ca from outside the basent.

This sank the heart of the Drowning Ghost to rock bottom.

Previously, the other party only occasionally checked in on him, seemingly preparing sothing.

But now, it was clear that the other party was ready.

'I must quickly find a way out, or I'll die.' The Drowning Ghost felt a bit restless, having been trapped for three days, he thought he would die of confinent, but now it was different. If he could survive until the end, there was a chance of completing the survival return.

'The other party isn't planning to eat , are they?'

At this mont, such a thought erged in the Drowning Ghost's mind.

Humans eating ghosts is not uncommon on the All Ghosts Survival Platform. The difference is most humans eat ghosts without much reticence, directly chewing them with a crunch that terrifies ghosts.

But these three humans are different; they likely torture first and then cook the ghost. If he dies in the process, he won't feel much pain.

If he doesn't die, then that's a tragedy.

Suicide was never an option. If he had the courage for that, he would have done it when he first entered the All Ghosts Survival Platform. Since death is inevitable, might as well die sooner for release.

"Why aren't you speaking? Have you accepted your fate?"

"Accepting your fate is good; otherwise, I'd have to go to so trouble to persuade you."

The voice of Da Tianwei ca once again, but it couldn't shake the Drowning Ghost. He was already at the end; how much more desperate could he get?

'There is still hope; the other party guarding here indicates a flaw in the basent!' The Drowning Ghost suddenly ca up with such an idea.

Then, he began searching in the dark basent, even if it was just a thought, now was not the ti to give up.

Success would an his life is saved; failure would an death, which he had long been accustod to having death by his side, though he still feared it.

Outside the basent, Da Tianwei watched every move of the Drowning Ghost through a hidden surveillance device.

Of course, Da Tianwei left surveillance. If the other party found a way to escape sohow, it would spell disaster for him.

This surveillance setup was part of the supplies that Gu Shanhai had once given him; he didn't have these things prepared himself.

"Tsk, it's as if I provoked him. Otherwise, lying still and not wasting energy, if he really found a loophole out, wouldn't it be in vain?" Da Tianwei believed there were no loopholes, having checked and double-checked many tis for assurance, but what if it happened anyway?

Better steer the other party's thoughts towards stress, applying sufficient pressure to make them move.

This might backfire, possibly letting the other party find so loophole.

If it happens, it's fine; Da Tianwei was monitoring and could respond and redy it imdiately.

First, give hope, then snuff it, to strike from a psychological standpoint.

But watching the Drowning Ghost scurrying around like a headless chicken, he knew that the other party was unlikely to find anything.

"Are you trying to find a way out? Stop struggling, if there is one, do you think you can manage to leave?" Da Tianwei once again taunted the Drowning Ghost.

The Drowning Ghost's face showed no change, instead continuing to explore the basent inch by inch.

This basent wasn't large, not at all.

Being too large wouldn't be good; smaller allowed for more comprehensive coverage by the surveillance equipnt, with no blind spots.

'I have to say, he's pretty earnest.' Da Tianwei watched the Drowning Ghost's behavior, a slight smile forming in his mind.

Pity, that's all there is to it.

The Drowning Ghost spent an hour rechecking the whole basent but found nothing.

He even failed to locate Da Tianwei's surveillance equipnt, thus sitting on the floor, feeling at a loss and bewildernt.

Things weren't supposed to develop like this; supposedly seeking survival, yet it thrust him into an inevitable doom.

Minutes ticked by, soon reaching 9:30 PM.

The Drowning Ghost noticed that the human voice, which had often taunted him, had gone silent for a long ti.

'Wait, what is this sense of foreboding?' The Drowning Ghost slled a fragrance drawing him in yet instilling fear.

Grrn...

He saw the basent door open, blinding light pouring in.

Then he saw a silhouette; due to the lighting, he couldn't discern the figure's features.

"It's so late, not sleeping in your room, hiding here?" A deep voice spoke.

"Wait, I..." The Drowning Ghost finally realized the human's plan; he broke one of the death rules: not sleeping in his room at night.

Before losing consciousness, the Drowning Ghost's last thought was: I was deceived. What the other side wanted to trigger from the start was not the mistake-based death rule, but the one about not sleeping in a room at night.

And one question: why wait until today, when they could have acted the first day he was confined in the basent.
