"Damn, it's been a whole day, where did you go?" Shura saw Gu Shanhai leisurely return with a pressure cooker in hand and looked a bit shocked.
"Oh, I dug a basent on the first floor and caught a mirror specter to do so things that can't pass a language review." Gu Shanhai said rather straightforwardly.
"Like... what the hell, how co I didn't see the entrance?" Shura felt a bit exhausted; he thought maybe one of his two teammates would be fine alone, but together, they just burdened him inexplicably.
The Grandmaster hadn't co out since going back, having used an isolation barrier.
As for Gu Shanhai, he disappeared entirely, couldn't be found anywhere.
"Wanna eat? I made so mirror specter soup, we just need another pot of rice, and everything's ready." Gu Shanhai shook the pressure cooker as he asked.
All of Shura's questions were stuck in his throat after that, and in the end, he could only nod awkwardly: "Eat! I'll go call the Grandmaster, tell him to co out and get so nourishnt, don't want him dying from overwork."
The temptation of a al was irresistible, not only delicious but also boosted attributes and states. More importantly, there was plenty of it, enough to match half the harvest from an instance.
Thankfully, he wasn't soone who would eat alone; since the Grandmaster ventured into the instance with them, of course, he should eat with them too.
Going into an instance together ans the rewards should at least be fair; everyone cos here for the benefits, not for friendship.
"Are you sure? He set up an isolation barrier, even if you smashed the door, he wouldn't hear it." Gu Shanhai reminded him and then very enthusiastically offered a solution: "You'll need to use this thing."
As he spoke, Gu Shanhai pulled a rocket launcher from his coat, obviously not just a simple firearm, but a composite weapon, one shot from it would make the whole building shake.
"No, this thing doesn't differentiate between friend and foe." Shura thought Gu Shanhai's stuff was just too bizarre; every single one indiscriminately targeted everyone, probably because of their trendous power, thus carrying such a negative trait.
From a player's perspective, that's inherently negative; players normally have immunity to teammate damage in battles, so they don't worry about being hurt by teammates. The traits on Gu Shanhai's hand, if used properly, could send teammates skyward.
"It's fine, he's thick-skinned and won't die from it, at most just scared limp, but if you're worried, I can do it." Gu Shanhai unhesitatingly set the rocket launcher on his shoulder with one hand and was just about to shell the Grandmaster's room.
But before he could fire, the door opened.
The Grandmaster, wearing just shorts, reached out and held down Gu Shanhai's rocket launcher: "Calling was a facade; scaring limp was your real goal, wasn't it?"
"Your response was quite fast, if you could've co out just one second later, that would've been perfect." Gu Shanhai's tone was filled with regret.
"A second later and I'd have opened the door to a rocket in the face, right?" The Grandmaster said with exasperation, having figured out early on that Gu Shanhai was not as normal as he appeared, encouraged by bizarre things and contemplated visiting a psychiatrist.
"This is for your own good, after all, you were in a fierce battle and needed so big actions." Gu Shanhai argued righteously.
"Did you forget there's sothing called a chat channel?" The Grandmaster's face darkened; Shura had already called him in the chat channel before, luckily tily reminding him so he could stop Gu Shanhai from shelling his room with a rocket launcher.
"Ah... hahaha, let's eat." Gu Shanhai, how could he forget it, was just trying to trick the Grandmaster a bit, since he didn't fall for it, he had to change the subject.
If the issue was pressed further, Gu Shanhai would confidently claim that due to his talents, he couldn't access the chat channel, so over ti he simply forgot.
With such a reason, why fear the other party won't buy it?
Luckily, Shura stepped in to diate, and the Grandmaster didn't press the issue, so everything quickly blew over. After dressing properly, they shared intelligence over the al.
"The humans here are all ordinary people, without any Transcendent abilities."
"And the ghosts, as seen by humans, look more like so strange things, such as food, toys, or quite straightforwardly, a matter."
"The ghosts need to adapt to their nature to survive in human hands and complete related tasks, failing which, the penalty is themselves."
"It's basically like a person having three pieces of bread in front of them, with one of them being a ghost, and this ghost needs to use its own abilities, luck, etc., to make the person eat the other two pieces of bread."
Shura quickly shared the intelligence he gathered today.
The Grandmaster nodded: "That's how it is, but there are so small details, like these ghosts have many restrictions, and their power is extrely limited, even the strongest is just a bit stronger than Teddy, but their abilities are indeed impressive."
"Wait, you've spent the whole day playing with flowers, fiddling with jade, and supposedly forming life-and-death friendships, yet you also managed to gather intelligence?" Gu Shanhai couldn't help but mock upon hearing the Grandmaster's words.
"Yes, I have my ways." The Grandmaster remained unfazed, while Cui Yingying, sipping her soup quietly beside them, blushed.
"Well, since you've said it all, I'll share my findings too." Seeing this, Gu Shanhai prepared to share so insights: "These ghosts are here seeking survival, everyone should know, sent over by sothing called the All Ghosts Survival Platform, and this should just be the novice stage of the instance."
