"The reason they were so unusual is that adventurers existed in the ambiguous realm between believers and blasphers, claiming both roles.

The existence of adventurers was upheld by the faith ford through the divine blessings that sustained the lands of adventure, and this, in turn, led to the continuous production of various resources, not only because of the Divine Relics but also because of this maintained faith.

And blasphers were also quite normal; their power stemd from devouring fallen deities.

However, so long as these deities did not revive, there were no major problems. Revival would be deadly. If soone ate your flesh and divided your power, you’d have no choice but to kill them.

If it were Gu Shanhai, he’d show no rcy either.

Adventurers were essentially a balanced paradox, and Gu Shanhai could even foresee the imnse secrets hidden in this world.

So what he needed to do... was certainly not to uncover these secrets, but to seize the opportunity to grab the soul of the earth and decisively flee.

Why would he get himself involved in such dangerous matters?

That sort of thing should be left to the protagonist, not to soone of his mixed caliber.

As for stealing divine relics? As long as it wasn’t in a karmic fate world, he’d take them; let them try to beat him if they can.

Of course, if they did try to fight him, he’d fight back if he could win, otherwise, he’d flee. There’s no way he’d foolishly stay and fight to the death.

"So, let’s flee for now," Gu Shanhai said, observing Holy White City which was under martial law, planning to leave first.

Upon reaching the city gate, he found it had been sealed.

"Young man, can I ask when the city will open?" Gu Shanhai asked.

The guarding adventurer didn’t notice Gu Shanhai, mainly because Little White’s antlers were too big and obscured his figure.

"I don’t know, wait for announcents," the other replied, perfectly deflecting responsibility.

"What about us folks from the countryside who have no place to stay?" Gu Shanhai asked again.

Holy White City was indeed a large tropolis, but there were also many villages and towns around it. Otherwise, the city alone couldn’t et its substantial needs.

There were no farms in the city, so where did the food co from? All these grains and vegetables were supplied from the surrounding villages and towns.

Even adventurers need to eat, drink, and attend to personal needs. Unless one had a special occupation, even a level 10 adventurer couldn’t escape these needs.

In Gu Shanhai’s research, actually, only a part of the adventurers could beco eternal beings, such as the previously ntioned Elf Archers. Because they carried the bloodline tendencies of the eternal Elf Clan, their lifespans increased but, correspondingly, so racial characteristics also changed.

"I don’t know, go ask soone from the Radiant Adventure Group," the other said sowhat impatiently.

This Radiant Adventure Group was the sa group whose profession certificate Gu Shanhai had picked up; it was a top-tier adventure group in Holy White City, one of those under the command of the Holy Saint, definitely an organized force with real power.

Otherwise, why would the Holy Saint personally co over to help investigate?

Gu Shanhai could only leave sullenly; it seed he would have to stay in Holy White City for a while.

After Little White turned and left, the guarding adventurer finally saw Gu Shanhai. Seeing that he had no level on his head, he didn’t take him seriously. Since he wasn’t an adventurer, he was truly just a country folk, and since he was middle-aged without having beco an adventurer, it proved he wasn’t a suspicious person.

Later, he could only rent a house to stay in. He wanted to stay in a hotel, but because Little White was too big, it wasn’t convenient.

"What a big deer~"

Having settled down, Gu Shanhai heard a child’s exclamation from the yard.

He glanced over and saw a little boy from next door, perched on the wall, surprisedly observing Little White, with a level 0 label on his head, clearly an adventurer.

"Young master, please co down," an elderly voice chided.

"No, I want to see the deer," the little boy said reluctantly.

The old man and the young boy tugged at each other for a while until the boy reluctantly got down from the wall.

Seeing this, Gu Shanhai calculated a fortune, and it seed his luck was running out.

He had just encountered the Nether Wolf Adventure Group who tried to recruit him as a Gold Miner, and now he had co across soone who had taken a liking to Little White.

The main issue was his identity. If he had been an adventurer, the other party wouldn’t have dared to speak out, but now that he was just an ordinary person, the other party didn’t care.

"Fortunately, this is easy to resolve," Gu Shanhai quickly worked out a solution.

These two weren’t from any legitimate adventure group, so Gu Shanhai could simply report them, and once they were arrested, the problem would be solved.

As for what to report, it had to be about who had stolen the Holy Praise job certificate. As the saying goes, even if it isn’t actual dirt, it’s still dirt when mud falls into one’s pants.

Gu Shanhai had already studied this, which ant those job certificates were of no value to him now.

He didn’t possess Divine Power, but he could still produce sothing with a similar effect.

It was the perfect scenario to clear himself of suspicion and to cleanse his na. Plus, he could even make a profit from the Radiant Adventure Group, regardless of the outco.

With this in mind, before the other party ca knocking for Little White, Gu Shanhai frad them first and then decisively took Little White to the Radiant Adventure Group’s base.

He had just left for ten minutes when the elder who had cald the little boy ca over. He didn’t knock but walked straight in and, seeing no one around, frowned and muttered, "Gone, huh!"

Gu Shanhai soon arrived at the Radiant Adventure Group’s base and imdiately claid he had a lead.

There was no skepticism or disdain from the guards; for the entire Radiant Adventure Group, whether the lead was true or false, it needed to be investigated.

"You say you have a lead?" A burly man in armor glanced at Gu Shanhai. There was so disbelief in his expression, but his attitude was serious since no one dared to lie.

"Yes, I’m from the countryside and couldn’t return because the city was sealed off, so I rented a room. I then overheard an old man and a little boy next door talking about keeping sothing holy safe, followed by so noise. I seized the opportunity to rush over and report," Gu Shanhai briefly explained and then gave a series of addresses.

The man listened carefully and then nodded, "Alright, I’ll take so people over to check imdiately, but you’ll need to wait here for a while."

The man wasn’t completely convinced and decided to keep Gu Shanhai at the base to avoid any potential troublemakers.

Normally he wouldn’t be so cautious, but given the special circumstances, those coming to stir trouble might be instigated by others.

"And that, take more people with you; that little boy is not even ten years old yet and is already an adventurer," Gu Shanhai kindly reminded.

The old man and the young boy weren’t the only ones; there was still a powerful adventurer who was out.

Hearing this, the man’s eyes sharpened. Only a major power could afford to have such a young child beco an adventurer.

"Okay, I understand," the man did not question further and quickly left with his team.

Gu Shanhai, seeing this, did not resist and simply sat down. The staff there weren’t clueless either, they offered him so tea and snacks while casually chatting with him.

They were probably trying to probe the situation.

Fortunately, Gu Shanhai was prepared and responded smoothly, occasionally complaining about how much the city’s lockdown had troubled him.

The adventurer from the Radiant Adventure Group was a bit embarrassed, as the lockdown was triggered because of them.

Luckily, he was experienced enough. Embarrassnt aside, he kept the conversation flowing. As long as he maintained a thick skin, it was not a big deal.

Acknowledging this, Gu Shanhai kept the conversation going, asking about things like monthly salaries or how to advance in levels. And as they chatted about this and that, ti slowly passed by.
