"Teacher, are you alright? Quick, call a doctor!" Jiang Lu said, anxiety apparent in his expression.

"I’m... I’m fine, just a bit weak," Gu Shanhai said, feeling slightly out of breath. "Are you okay? What was that thing just now?"

Just then, after Jiang Lu had killed Zhou Ding, a burst of light had suddenly sprung from Zhou Ding’s body. It spun around, and Gu Shanhai intercepted it three tis without success; ultimately, it entered Jiang Lu’s body.

The first ti was in a normal unhidden state, the second in an extre state, and the third ti he directly used the World Tree form. This completely drained him since the event lasted less than a second and was localized, so the consumption was bearable and not paralyzing.

Hearing Gu Shanhai speak, tears almost fell from Jiang Lu’s eyes, mainly because Gu Shanhai looked so terrifying, reduced to skin and bones, seemingly on the verge of collapse.

A doctor arrived quickly, checked Gu Shanhai’s pulse, but remained silent. Finally, the doctor gritted his teeth and said, "Marquis, I fear your life may not last long."

Hearing this, Gu Shanhai was montarily stunned, feeling indeed as if his life force had depleted slightly, and it did seem as if he was close to death. But it wasn’t a major issue; he would recover by morning, and with so dicinal herbs, even faster.

"That, well, I think there might be a misjudgnt," Gu Shanhai gently suggested, implying a mistake had been made.

"Yes, a misjudgnt indeed. You may leave," said Jiang Lu, not objecting this ti, but his expression grew even sadder.

Gu Shanhai was speechless at this scene, then casually pulled out a handful of pills and stuffed them into his mouth.

His life force rapidly recovered, and his previously skeletal form began to fill out.

"???"×N

Everyone watching was also stunned by this transformation.

"I’ve told you I’m fine, I still have plenty of life left. Even if I wanted to die, I couldn’t," Gu Shanhai quipped.

"That’s good, that’s good," seeing this, Jiang Lu also relaxed, then signaled the doctor to check again.

"Marquis, let check your pulse again," the doctor quickly understood and said promptly.

Gu Shanhai did not refuse. There weren’t any normal pulses inside of him anymore; his body comprised Spirit Plant matter mixed with flesh and bones, which made it inaccurate. To truly see anything, he would need to help adjust it.

As for why he didn’t disguise it before, it was simple. With the way he’d been gasping for air and looking on the brink of death, who would believe he was healthy? Jiang Lu would probably have the doctor executed right away.

"I’ve never seen soone of your age in such vigorous health," the doctor quickly concluded there was no problem.

Jiang Lu finally sighed in relief.

"All’s well then. Now, with these thieves eliminated, gentlen, let’s destroy Yan Country!" Jiang Lu changed his tone as the major problem had now been dealt with, and naturally, it was ti to conquer Yan Country.

"Yes!"

Everyone responded and began to advance toward Yan Country.

"Teacher, co with , there’s sothing I need to discuss with you," Jiang Lu said.

Gu Shanhai nodded, and the two entered the newly re-established command tent surrounded by a large number of Daoist Soldiers for protection.

"That burst of light is a system called ’Dynasty Struggle System,’ which is a bit strange. Initially, during installation, the version na was ’Hidden True Product, Ascension Assurance 10.0 version.’"

"During the installation, a bunch of garbled text suddenly appeared, and then the version na changed to ’***(Official version),’ with the first three letters before ’Official version’ seeming blocked and invisible."

"It was as if soone interfered with the installation."

Jiang Lu didn’t hide anything, as he had heard Gu Shanhai talk about systems before and was familiar with the concept.

"Ah, this... I’m not very clear about it either," Gu Shanhai was also sowhat puzzled. He had seen systems in his previous life, but not in this one.

The main thing was that there seed to be an entity that liked to throw systems around; what exactly that entailed was unclear to him. Most such systems were mainly tools for amusent, although there were so serious exceptions, though rare.

"Can you see if this system works?" When it ca to systems, Gu Shanhai had built a few himself, although they were of no use. As for the one in Jiang Lu, he couldn’t help uninstall it.

So, if you can’t beat it, just lie down and wait. When Gu Shanhai was more capable, he would co back and give a hand.

"It works, and I’ve pulled up a bunch of missions and even completed a series of achievents."

"No wonder Yan Country had such a situation; this system can actually influence various decisions and policies of the entire country, and as soon as the corresponding policies are chosen, the respective technology becos available."

"Unfortunately, the previous policies had been cleared due to the host’s death; I need to repoint them."

Jiang Lu looked at the huge policy tree being pulled upward, then noticed a new updating area, not knowing when it would be fully updated.

"You’ve freeloaded a system, what’s there to be unhappy about?" Gu Shanhai comnted.

At that mont, exploring the Dynasty Struggle System, Jiang Lu also quipped, "Teacher, this thing’s troop summoning card pool is also locked, saying I have to wait for my policy updating area to finish updating before I can use it. No wonder Zhou Ding had so many talented people, it turns out they were all drawn from the card pool."
