Gu Shanhai initially thought this world was targeted by the Abyss, with the entire world being pulled into the endless depths.
But then he thought again, in his previous life when this world was opened, it was already ten thousand years later, aning that this world had never been swallowed by the Abyss, and instead was doing just fine, without any issues.
Moreover, the endless Abyss wouldn’t be so tasteless. If it really set its sights on a world, it wouldn’t invade like this; it would completely devour it.
"Could it be that a certain rebel faction got a hold of so things from the Abyss?"
The endless Abyss, being a vast existence, naturally tends to cast out all sorts of random things from ti to ti, just like those Plane rchants, who are essentially proxies or agents of certain major forces.
Similarly, the Abyss has a kind of Plane rchant known as Protective Umbrella Responsibility Limited Company, whose main business is the trade of powerful weapons. They’d sell anything from biological weapons to high-energy weapons, from hand grenades that couldn’t kill a person to force field devices capable of binding the world.
In his past life, Gu Shanhai had purchased from Protective Umbrella Responsibility Limited Company, and the impression he got was that their responsibilities were indeed quite limited.
If you wanted a nuclear bomb, they’d genuinely sell you one, but maintenance, warranty, and other services would cost you extra.
If you don’t buy those, they wouldn’t take responsibility for issues like nuclear leaks or explosions due to disrepair over ti.
Unless you are planning to use it imdiately after purchase, there will definitely be problems.
With that in mind, Gu Shanhai had a deep impression of the endless Abyss.
"Wait, it couldn’t be that this group of rebels encountered Protective Umbrella Responsibility Limited Company and bought sothing," Gu Shanhai suddenly realized.
Protective Umbrella Responsibility Limited Company took custom orders, too—developing a book of strategy similar to a Daoist Soldier manual for sale, for example, wasn’t out of the question.
As for the needed currency—a horde of skeletal soldiers, fallen warriors at the borders, those conscripted to repair barricades, and many others—were in ample supply. And if the custor was premium, the company wouldn’t mind sending the goods before receiving paynt, but they would just charge an additional tiny bit of interest, late fees, managent fees, and other such expenses.
Thinking this, Gu Shanhai figured that the reason the rebel forces fell wasn’t due to the encirclent and suppression by the army commanders, but because they couldn’t pay up and were repossessed by Protective Umbrella Responsibility Limited Company as experintal subjects.
Otherwise, a batch of such fierce Abyss-attribute Daoist Soldiers, of the highest order, would shatter any amount of army commanders sent against them.
If normal Daoist Soldiers grew progressively through cultivation, then these Abyss-attribute ones mutated in a single step through slaughter and corruption.
They required even fewer resources than the lowermost ranks because their resources were their own kind.
"This ti it’s truly sothing I can’t afford to ss with," Gu Shanhai comnted sarcastically and hurriedly made his escape.
If things went as expected, Wen’an City was dood.
It’s no wonder that this insurgency, which started with a peasant uprising and was quickly suppressed, entered Gu Shanhai’s mory—it was anything but ordinary. If these Abyss-attribute Daoist Soldiers hadn’t been harvested, then no one in the entire world could have stopped them, and the entire world would have fallen into corruption.
As for who resolved the situation and how it was resolved, it didn’t concern Gu Shanhai too much; after all, it wasn’t sothing he could solve.
He didn’t covet the Abyss Power from the bodies of the opposition either; it wasn’t sothing he could study at his current level.
In his previous life at his peak power, he had a profound wariness of the Abyss.
If the "First Era" could be considered a force, then the endless Abyss was also a vast existence that could compete with the "First Era." There were many similar forces and entities, and in Gu Shanhai’s mory, there were forces like the Main God Space, Dinsional Paradise, Da Zhou Dynasty, and a series of other powers.
Sotis the "First Era" could even interact with these forces. In his past life, Gu Shanhai had once participated in a mission that was outsourced, but the rewards were indeed substantial.
The task publisher was Hades from Greek mythology, who, it was said, had been dethroned in a power struggle and ended up in the world of the Saint Seiya, mistaken for another Hades and imdiately given two black eyes by Seiya. And the task for Gu Shanhai and his team was quite simple: to serve as witnesses proving that the twelve powerful Saints were under Athena’s command, and to help Hades get compensation.
At the ti, the people joining Gu Shanhai on the mission were on the verge of losing their minds, not because Hades was weak, but because this Hades was so strong that he seed like a comical character, possessing enough power to beat the First Cause Cronos of the Saint Seiya world. Yet, he went through all this trouble over a petty issue—it was downright preposterous.
The sheer haggling dragged on for a whole month, until, finally, an unwilling-to-be-nad transcendent being of the Antimatter Realm, a marine power nad Poseidon, intervened and resolved the matter. At that mont, Gu Shanhai watched as Athena, commanding the eighty-eight constellations and an army of powerful Saints, was nearly ready to deploy the Complete Heaven Star Battle Formation and go all out against Hades.
Yes, it was not the Athena of the Saint Seiya world whom Hades was seeking compensation from, but the Athena of the Greek mythology world. The two Athenas weren’t on the sa level at all; the one from Greek mythology was incredibly powerful, belonging to the sa echelon as Hades himself.
If one were to estimate their strength levels, they would have to start at a minimum of 9900.
Gu Shanhai genuinely had no idea why so many ridiculous things kept popping up. Thankfully, they were resolved in ti; he had been worried that, if they hadn’t been, Zeus might just bear the sky, lift Mount Olympus in one hand, and co charging out.
Regarding this, Gu Shanhai could only say that not even the Otsutsuki clan’s affairs were as absurd as those of the Greek pantheon.
Oh, by the way, it was said that the one who usurped Hades’ throne was the God of Wine. As for the specifics, he wasn’t too clear.
To be honest, Gu Shanhai was quite puzzled about this situation. After the God of Wine beca Hades, what would happen to the position of God of Wine?
But he only puzzled over it for a mont before letting it go.
He didn’t want to step foot in that chaotic world ever again in his life; the idea that family squabbles could almost blow up the world was simply too terrifying.
Back in Cansang Village, everyone had packed up their precious belongings and were all waiting for Gu Shanhai to return and set off together.
"Let’s take a detour and head to Xingsu Prefecture City next door. We’ll et up with Jiang Lu and the others there," Gu Shanhai glanced at the people and then said.
"Mr. Gu, the carriages are ready. Please, this way," a nearby servant hastily said.
They weren’t foolish; since they were going to flee, they definitely weren’t planning to go on foot. They had already bought carriages and ox carts. Otherwise, honestly, reaching Xingsu Prefecture City would take quite so ti.
The two prefecture cities were a thousand miles apart, but for the people of this world, a thousand miles weren’t too far, since even the most basic individuals possessed the physical qualities of the Qi Refinent Realm. If they weren’t burdened with their families, they could travel even faster, as traveling alone often ant they could make do.
On further thought, there was already a hundred miles between Cansang Village and Wen’an City. So, in this light, a thousand miles didn’t seem that far after all.
Distances within different worlds couldn’t really be compared. In the worlds of transcendent beings, distance often wasn’t much of a problem.
Jiang Lu, with his Daoist Soldiers, could cover a thousand miles in a day without difficulty.
Not to ntion the mighty commanders and their Daoist Soldiers; for them, ten thousand miles was but a mont.
This was also facilitated by the vast territory of the Dalong Region and the imnse size of the entire world; otherwise, it really wouldn’t have been enough for them to run amok.
"Mm, let’s set off imdiately," Gu Shanhai ordered, and the group set out from Cansang Village in an impressive procession.
He had already determined the eting location through Prophetic Divination, and now he just needed to arrive on ti to et up with Jiang Lu and the others.
As for what would happen after that... well, they would cross that bridge when they ca to it. If necessary, they could first make temporary arrangents in Xingsu Prefecture City. In terms of overall strength, Xingsu Prefecture City was stronger than Wen’an Prefecture.
He had no choice but to leave now. Wen’an City was utterly indefensible. By the ti Gu Shanhai left, Wen’an City had already fallen into a disadvantage, and it was certain that there would be no winning the mont the city was breached.
