Yun Yu was utterly frustrated. "Can’t you be a bit more tactful?"
"But we’re all family here, no need for tact. By the way, where’s Shen An?" Gu Shanhai asked.
"Oh, he has reached the Purple Mansion Stage and is preparing outside. He has started a sect called Baihua Valley. I will let him train for a few decades before we discuss further." At this mont, Yun Yu also planned to let him take over his position.
In terms of managent and developnt, he had made remarkable achievents, much thanks to Gu Shanhai’s ntoring. Baihua Valley was definitely thriving under his leadership.
"I see, that’s good too. Let him practice more, stay modest and stay calm, especially since without facing tribulations, his creativity is much better than ours."
"But you guys should also keep an eye, better to work a bit longer, with our older generation around, there’s no need for him to be a pioneering leader, settling as a successful inheritor would suffice. The rich second generation can’t starve or thirst but starting a business might just make them broke." Gu Shanhai quipped, indicating that Yun Yu should continue.
Hearing this, Yun Yu was at a loss. "You’re quite heartless, you know. He has been working for so many years and is looking at retirent soon, and now with your ominous words, he has to continue."
"Enough, stop the teasing, what are you planning with all this ambiguity?" Yun Yu did not want to continue this topic with Gu Shanhai. Otherwise, Shen An might end up as a Supre Elder instead of a Sect Leader, which would be a great loss for him.
"I’m planning to leave for a while, the ti is uncertain," Gu Shanhai stated bluntly.
"Then I’ll arrange for the Elders and the cha Squad to follow you," Yun Yu said, without asking where he was going or when he would return, but instead imdiately arranging a guard.
"No need, my return date is uncertain. I’ll just take a God Slayer cha with . Who knows, maybe by the ti I return, I’ll have reached the Peeping Dao Stage, then I can help you ascend," Gu Shanhai joked.
Yun Yu’s brow furrowed, sensing sothing was off. Normally, Gu Shanhai would have agreed imdiately and would have asked to bring the sect’s treasures and the Mountain Gate Array. This ti, his lack of requests was troubling.
"What’s less, when are you leaving? I’ll make arrangents," Yun Yu said calmly.
He knew he couldn’t stop Gu Shanhai, so he could only ensure his safety to the best of his ability.
The Great Mahayana Xuanzhen Sect was based on ntorship relations, which reflected the close emotional ties throughout the sect, and Gu Shanhai was well-loved.
"At most a year," Gu Shanhai pondered. He couldn’t stay away too long.
A year might seem long for Gu Shanhai, but for the middle and upper managent of the Great Mahayana Xuanzhen Sect, it wasn’t much ti.
"A bit rushed, but it shouldn’t be a big problem," Yun Yu didn’t suggest that Gu Shanhai delay his departure. His idea of "a little later" ant ten or even a hundred years.
"Rushed? It seems like you’re planning so surprises for ."
"Exactly, during this year, I plan to perfect the ’Great Heavenly Immortal Technique,’ and see if I can turn it into an innate Divine Skill." Gu Shanhai had thought of this while working on the body cultivation genetic dicines, given how powerful and widespread the knowledge had beco.
Therefore, his idea was simple; create a vaccine that, perhaps one day, could be passed down generationally and ultimately erode the tribulations through this thod.
However, it would require a very long ti, at least ten million years for such an opportunity.
Gu Shanhai shared his thoughts with Yun Yu, who simply responded that he would do his best, as he currently wasn’t in the mindset to think about it, focusing solely on assisting Gu Shanhai with upcoming matters.
As for the so-called innate Divine Skills, he wasn’t particularly concerned about eradicating tribulations, though he didn’t see that happening. However, having the Divine Skills vaccine would simplify the induction and training of future Loose Cultivators and Disciples, saving them from having to repeatedly pass down the ’Great Heavenly Immortal Technique.’
He wasn’t worried about the cost. The most significant expense was in the research phase; the later operational inputs were actually not that high.
After chatting for a while longer, Yun Yu left since he was quite busy. He had mainly co to see Gu Shanhai this ti because there were so details in the body cultivation genetic dicines that Gu Shanhai had developed that he needed to discuss. Unfortunately, due to Gu Shanhai’s situation, Yun Yu had to set those plans aside.
"Heavens, I’m busy again," Gu Shanhai said slowly, then continued his work. His life was like that of a Cultivator in deep ditation; not filled with much amusent.
For him, studying and researching were his forms of entertainnt. As for becoming stronger, that was simply a byproduct of turning knowledge into power.
It was this mindset that allowed him to endure all kinds of boring data and nurous unpleasant failures. Every accomplishnt of his was, in fact, built on a vast amount of failed data; otherwise, if he could succeed on his first attempt, he would have been invincible long ago.
...
One year later
"Has the person left? Truly without a trace, how peculiar," Yun Yu lifted his head, finding that Gu Shanhai had vanished without a trace.
Yun Yu wasn’t the only one concerned about Gu Shanhai. Many Elders and Hall Masters, even Cultivators at the Peeping Dao Stage, failed to detect even the slightest hint of his presence.
"I’m really not quite used to him being gone," Elder Xi Huan said, walking over at so unknown point.
"What are you doing here again, you old nuisance?" Yun Yu’s face darkened. Xi Huan had possibly been around Gu Shanhai too long and acquired a sowhat irritating personality, always coming over to bother him, sticking like a leech that didn’t bite but was nonetheless annoying.
"Listen to how you speak, what ’old nuisance’? I am but youthfully youthful!" Xi Huan retorted.
Yun Yu was quite annoyed by this and then said, "Out with it, if you are here to tease , then I’m going to have to pass the Sect Leader role to you today!"
"Wow, why do you always talk about resigning? Besides, you couldn’t even if you wanted to, we ca here through competition, talk about it when you can no longer compete with the new disciples," Xi Huan replied confidently.
Yun Yu was frustrated; if it weren’t for these persistently supportive old tirs, no one could outfight him even if he perford terribly. The competition was rigged in his favor—they wanted him to win so badly that even if he conceded, he would still win.
"Alright, enough jokes, the latest news, the God Slayer cha has received a signal, from beyond the skies," Xi Huan stated gravely.
They were of course aware that there were other worlds beyond the skies; Gu Shanhai had awakened them to this fact. They had also seen things like the Dawn Space Station and biological laboratories, which proved that every so often, visitors from beyond the skies unexpectedly arrived.
"What kind of signal, was it decoded?" Yun Yu asked seriously.
"It’s a jumble of codes, currently undecodable; it will take so ti, Sect Leader. As you know, with the threat of knowledge eradication, we can only perform limited actions within our constrained environnt. We hope that the knowledge left by Shanhai will provide us with the ans. Otherwise, we are powerless," Xi Huan said, sowhat helplessly.
Yun Yu looked down, pondering unknown thoughts.
After being silent for about fifteen minutes, he finally spoke again, "Prioritize tracing the signal’s origin, and integrate the Xuanzhen Realm. I want the whole Xuanzhen Realm to beco a part of the Great Mahayana Truth, without any distinction between Loose Cultivators and ordinary people."
"Then... prepare for war!"
He rembered what Gu Shanhai had told him about the pitfalls of the Great Mahayana Truth—they were continuously depleting the Xuanzhen Realm. Sooner or later, either they would die, or the Xuanzhen would perish.
The solution was to expand into the worlds beyond.
Xi Huan now understood Yun Yu’s intentions. Whatever the aning of the signal, their goal was simple—to annihilate the opposing side and occupy their world; thus, his response was straightforward: "Yes, Sect Leader."
Although he would joke around with Yun Yu, when it ca to serious matters, he respected him as the Sect Leader and followed his commands.
Yun Yu quickly established a comprehensive strategy and began issuing corresponding directives and entirely new policies using various communication treasures to all levels of administration.
The imnse machinery of the sect was activated in this mont, following the high command of the Great Mahayana Truth, crushing all who resisted or disobeyed.
