"Connection successful, setup is also fine, next step is verification," said Gu Shanhai, relieved as his homade identification system started up smoothly.
In reality, he wasn’t entirely confident, mainly because so much ti had passed that Gu Shanhai wasn’t even sure if this core area was still operational.
However, upon seeing it power up, he could confirm it indeed was running.
He took out Shen Heng’s ID card and swiped it on the recognition system. Considering Shen Heng’s identity and access level as a top cha Researcher, he should have been able to gain entry.
The screen displayed that the identity verification was successful but, soon after, Gu Shanhai’s face stiffened.
It now required iris verification, voice verification, and real-ti dynamic verification, which bewildered him.
If it required post-traversal data for Shen Heng, it would have been fine, as he could manage that. But judging by the situation, it definitely required pre-traversal data. With Shen Heng having already beco a mummified corpse, real-ti dynamics might be feasible as Gu Shanhai could use the corpse to create a replica, but the iris and voice were impossible.
In the end, he could only make a last-ditch effort with the real-ti dynamics verification. Using the mummified corpse as a blueprint for replication, he successfully passed.
"But then again, doesn’t such an advanced technological civilization have artificial intelligence?" Gu Shanhai wondered. He kept thinking, why use humans to pilot the chas? Wouldn’t using AI directly be better? If not, remote control could suffice, certainly better than having a human there as a liability.
The knowledge that Shen Heng left did include software programs, but they hadn’t reached the level of strong intelligence, even falling short of his Azure Dragon in intellectual capabilities.
After all the trouble, Gu Shanhai felt helpless with the voice and iris verification, and so he had to move on to plan B.
Since he built the identification system himself, he had certainly left a backdoor. While hacking into the main system was too difficult, tricking it with a program modification was still feasible.
He had already anticipated such a scenario.
After spending most of the day, he finally managed to fool the main system through the recognition system and gained access.
As the gate slowly opened with a rather grating noise, evidently due to having not been opened in a long ti, luckily, it wasn’t out of function.
"At this ti, if it were the protagonist arriving, who knows how many would jump out trying to fish in troubled waters..." Gu Shanhai muttered to himself in his mind. Typically, as soon as the protagonist discovers so relic or legacy, all sorts of demons and gods would erge.
He didn’t need to worry, though. Anyone daring to get close would be literally crushed without even a chance to explain. The Great Mahayana Truth Sect wouldn’t care about these Loose Cultivators.
Disciples of his sect were even less likely to approach. Even if they did co, they would help maintain order from outside. To them, as long as Gu Shanhai made any discoveries, they would also benefit.
Once the gate was fully open, Gu Shanhai leisurely entered the core laboratory area.
After passing through a long corridor, he saw many glass jars containing remnant bodies imrsed in a filthy liquid, and he recognized at a glance that these remains were human.
Originally intended as experintal subjects, they died because the nutrient fluid was depleted over a long period without cleaning, resulting in contamination of the storage area.
"It’s been years; it seems this lab emits so radiation that prevents the entry of Spiritual Energy, allowing the Heavenly Ghost Creations to survive," Gu Shanhai felt a significant drop, of at least ninety percent, in the concentration of Spiritual Energy upon entering. Fortunately, Gu Shanhai wasn’t reliant on the external environnt, otherwise he would have been very uncomfortable upon entering.
After wandering around, he finally found the main system controls and began to further access and manipulate it.
To be honest, it was quite effortless; no verification was needed, and he browsed and recorded vast amounts of data.
"Speaking of which, the power system of this lab is impressive; it’s been so long, and yet it still maintains the operation of the entire lab," Gu Shanhai thought to himself.
According to the blueprints obtained from the main system, the energy system combined geothermal and nuclear fusion technologies, but unfortunately, there was no record of these technical details here.
The main reason, naturally, is because this is a biological lab, not an energy lab, so it’s unlikely to record such details.
Regarding the energy techniques provided by Shen Heng, they were different, too. The chas required a special kind of cosmic energy, not available in this world, hence not very referential.
"Body Refining?"
Gu Shanhai quickly found a great deal of intelligence in the main system, much of which involved experints related to this biological lab crashing into this world.
"The Heavenly Ghost Tomb biological lab crashed much earlier than I imagined; it seems they were in the late stages of Body Refining," Gu Shanhai also adopted a curious expression.
Late stages didn’t an just a year or two; this process extended over tens of thousands of years. As for Qi Refining, it had always been the mainstream.
Later, Gu Shanhai also found a lot of Body Refining legacies. Clearly, these stranded researchers in the Xuanzhen Realm hadn’t simply perished; they had beco a local power, enhancing their experintal projects with various Body Refining legacies.
