Three months had just flown by, and in that ti, Atilis had once again rushed to the battlefield after acquiring the Lake Sword, Divide Steel, and the sheath nad Utopia.
Then ca rlin’s orders; the Magic Sword of Nuada’s Glory from Kesba Sun’s hand, and the broken family crests of the Esoeren family and the Rahan family were delivered. The forr symbolized Kesba’s death, and the latter signified that all heirs of these two noble families had been killed, ending their noble lineage for good.
This left Gu Shanhai speechless—it was exactly what he had been wanting to do, and yet rlin had done it for him. However, rlin probably wasn’t the one who had enacted this directly; he was more the type to suggest and command indirectly.
Seeing this, Gu Shanhai lost the urge to wish death upon his opponent. After all, they had already shown their sincerity. Moreover, this was just a confirmation and compensation. A massive amount of treasures and wealth had been delivered into Gu Shanhai’s mansion, seemingly seized from the two families without spending any of it, which Gu Shanhai himself would not have been able to lay his hands on.
Additionally, there was a blessing from the Lake Fairy. Although its effect was not as overpowered as the Utopia sheath, which prevented injury just by possession, this blessing could reduce damage by 10%, specifically, it also covered the life span deducted during Gu Shanhai’s Prophetic Divination.
Essentially, what would have required ten days of life, now only required nine days.
Unfortunately, there was a limit. He hadn’t tested what that limit was, but if it was exceeded, the blessing would beco ineffective. Regardless, Gu Shanhai didn’t use it imdiately but kept it for research. He actually had another similar blessing—the one given by the Mountain Lord, Black Tiger, which he had intended to craft into a Fear Aura but had forgotten about.
Besides the blessing from the Lake Fairy, rlin had sent Gu Shanhai a plethora of other things, including various Knight inheritances, Wizard knowledge, and all sorts of strange books.
In short, with the generous gifts, Gu Shanhai conveniently began to suffer from ’selective amnesia,’ no longer dwelling on the past pursuit to kill him.
He was a magnanimous person and easily bribed. With rlin’s thod of bribery, he almost imdiately let bygones be bygones.
Of course, Gu Shanhai had also received a promotion. He beca a Consultant Advisor, working alongside Kay in handling state affairs, essentially aning that Atilis had given him enough power to assist Kay, the Minister of State.
The very next day, Gu Shanhai... skipped work. Kay, with a grim expression, ca to fetch him, stating it was ti for work, but Gu Shanhai was not inclined to go. He fabricated an excuse about needing to study Prophetic Divination, arguing he should specialize in prophecy rather than administrative affairs, and then solemnly stated that while there were many adept at handling state affairs, the only ones gifted in prophetic divination were rlin and himself. To beco a politician would be a waste.
After being swayed by the argunt, Kay found Gu Shanhai’s rationale sound, so he let Gu Shanhai take a nominal position—a position with actual power—and urged him to focus on mastering Prophetic Divination.
Later, when rlin returned and found out how Kay had been persuaded, he remained silent. He also saw so rit in Gu Shanhai’s logic, even if Gu Shanhai’s prophetic abilities were life-consuming—still much better than the half-baked attempts of others.
Upon learning about rlin’s return, Gu Shanhai took the initiative to make ands, suggesting they were now reconciled. He had managed to obtain quite a bit during this ti, truly gaining the White Wolf without lifting a finger. If it hadn’t been improper, Gu Shanhai would have considered taking further advantage.
During these three months, Gu Shanhai had successfully consolidated the marks of the Sun, Moon, and Stars, enhancing all the marks once again.
Unfortunately, the first-tier natural mark enhancents now provided minimal benefit to him, serving as icing on the cake rather than much-needed aid. Nonetheless, the effects of the natural mark enhancents were quite good.
The first tier’s six natural marks were strengthened again, offering a base enhancent effect that added an extra 50%, effectively a fifty percent increase in attributes—which, while not incredibly useful, hinted at a potential evolution.
The second tier’s elents of wind, fire, water, and earth each introduced a new effect: the Wind Mark brought increased casting speed, Fire Mark continued to boost attack power, the Water Mark enabled elental absorption, enhancing the recovery rate of his natural blessings, and Earth Mark bolstered his defensive power, offering a whole-body percentage enhancent.
The third tier’s Cloud, Snow, Lightning, and Forest saw no dramatic changes, rely a replication of their original resistance ratios, piling on resilience in absolute terms.
Furthermore, Gu Shanhai had acquired a new talent called Natural Channel, whose effects he was still puzzling over—an active type that could open a conduit to nature within his body, involving himself, which made him sowhat hesitant to use it. Thus, he set it aside as he focused on perfecting his Mana Aura through the Holy Knight and War Knight.
The fifth and final tier involved six natural marks, known as Force Fields, which impacted not just him but an entire area.
Growth, Vitality, Peace, Serenity, Barrenness, and Withering—these were the nas of the six natural marks.
