Gu Shanhai subconsciously thought of such a possibility, then pondered, "No, could it be that this thing is generating exhaustion in order to correct destiny?"
In his past life, when Atilis ascended the throne as King, the expansion of territory was also part of the plan, the only difference was that there weren’t as many people at his disposal.
"From the mont of the coronation, the destinies of Atilis, rlin, and other related individuals were pulled back onto their original path, whereas for people like Mafas... I suppose they were simply immovable, destiny has to make sense, right?"
"A greater possibility is that Atilis’s destiny could not be bound, which led to the fissures in the Stone of Destiny."
As Gu Shanhai pondered, he placed a large amount of explosives—at the enchanted kind—around the Stone of Destiny.
Whether it could be blown up was one thing, whether to do it was another.
Now that it was cracked like this, what if it ended up completely shattered?
During this ti, Gu Shanhai couldn’t resist trying to pull out the Sword of the King, Gold, embedded in the stone, but of course, the result was self-evident. Even if he used all his strength, he could not do it.
The arrangent inside the church was quickly completed, but Gu Shanhai didn’t imdiately set off the explosives. Instead, he searched inside the church. He wanted to know just what could have chipped off a small piece of such an indestructible Stone of Destiny; he suspected it might be related to so aspect of destiny.
Because there was no one around, Gu Shanhai quickly found the place where the books were hidden.
After looking around, he found a spot that seed to be the key.
"The Fiona Knights brought back the Stone of Destiny from a distant land and presented it to the Lord?" Gu Shanhai read this brief sentence, a bit of realization in his expression. The na didn’t sound significant at first, but then again, if you consider that Diarmuid O’Dyna, the famously renowned hero, was a mber of that Knight Order.
"I rember that the whole Knight Order was supposed to have gone missing, right?"
In his previous life, Gu Shanhai hadn’t heard of this Knight Order, since it had long since vanished, only occasionally surfacing as a background detail; no one paid much attention to it.
He had read about these events in so books at Deer Plain, and their disappearance was nearly five hundred years ago. The books that Gu Shanhai had read contained only snippets of information, and Mafas and the others hadn’t bothered to collect detailed records on it.
Nobody knew what the truth was.
"Wait... Fuck, not missing? I think I’ve found it!" Through the books hidden away, Gu Shanhai quickly found so research by church scholars on the Fiona Knights. No matter what, since they had presented the Stone of Destiny to the church, there were bound to be so scholars investigating it.
The content clearly described the attire of the other party, who had emblazoned a phrase on their battle flag and branded it onto the knight’s insignia, a phrase which translated was known as the "Welco Victory of Destiny."
This phrase was sothing Gu Shanhai had seen before, in the camp of that curse-monster transford from a knight. He originally thought it was just a motto, without realizing that they were the missing Fiona Knights.
"According to the tiline, it seems that the Fiona Knights disappeared after presenting the Stone of Destiny?"
"So it was the church’s doing behind the scenes?"
"Unlikely, every mber of the Fiona Knights was a Noble Knight, and also the legitimate heirs of their respective families, they wouldn’t dare make such a move."
"So it’s more likely due to their own reasons."
Gu Shanhai looked at the Stone of Destiny: "It couldn’t have been because presenting the Stone of Destiny to the Lord as a gift that got them cursed."
"Forget it, regardless of all that, blow it up first, collect all the books."
"If the Stone of Destiny can’t be blasted apart, then find a way to move it to their camp, maybe that group of forr Fiona Knights has a solution."
With the arrow on the bowstring, it must be launched, Gu Shanhai could no longer afford to worry too much at this point.
After scavenging everything inside the church, he moved outside the range of the church and ensured a safe distance before remotely detonating the various explosives he had set up.
Boom~
There ca a massive explosion, and the entire church was blasted into the sky, debris scattering in all directions wrapped in shockwaves.
The commotion was, of course, heard throughout the Royal Capital, as the charge Gu Shanhai used was not small.
"Is it shattered?" Gu Shanhai squinted his eyes, trying to peer through the obstacles to see the Stone of Destiny.
The explosion ca quickly and dissipated just as swiftly, leaving only ruins where the church once stood. In the centre, the square stone still bore the Sword in the Stone, Gold.
"It hasn’t shattered. Worthy of being the carrier of destiny; it seems I need to think of another way." Gu Shanhai moved swiftly towards the Stone of Destiny, forcefully lifting it and stowing it away in his portable laboratory’s storage for sealing. He quickly wrapped things up and left the scene.
This incident absolutely could not be linked to him, no matter how you put it, he was still a protagonist.
Taking advantage of the guards’ absence, Gu Shanhai’s departure was smooth.
’If I had Divine Arts on , I could leave even faster. I need to get out of the city. If martial law is declared, that would be troubleso.’
Blowing up the church and taking the Stone of Destiny along with the Sword of the King would not sit well with rlin and the Church; they would not let it go easily. Morico, being a Druid, might find amusent in the situation but would also start investigating. The Kay Knights would rage—committing such acts in the Royal Capital was a blatant provocation.
If he did not run and got caught, no status of his could save him.
In the matter of running away, Gu Shanhai’s efficiency was quite high, and this ti he did not use the city gates but directly climbed over the city walls.
With his current physical condition, such a minor task was easily manageable.
"Run after the explosion, what a thrill~" Gu Shanhai exhaled a breath of stale air. He had been very nervous along the way; lucky for him, the explosion had caused a montary chaos in the Royal Capital enabling his escape through the confusion.
A few more minutes, and he would have had no chance to leave.
On his way out, Gu Shanhai pondered over the Fiona Knights.
’The entire Fiona Knights counts over twenty thousand brave and skilled warriors, including seven hundred and fifty leaders and twenty-seven Noble Knights which form one formidable warlord.’
’Only, there weren’t that many people in the camp. A great number sward out, but clearly less than a thousand.’
’Which ans it’s likely just the twenty-seven Noble Knights plus the seven hundred and fifty leaders.’
The remaining twenty thousand or so would naturally be akin to knight squires, militian and the like, probably not Transcendents but well-trained veterans.
Those seven hundred and fifty leaders are likely to be knight squires as well, probably not Transcendent Knights. Only those twenty-seven Noble Knights would be true Transcendents.
Otherwise, even if those twenty-seven Noble Knights represented twenty-seven noble families emptied their coffers, they could not afford over twenty thousand Transcendents.
It was still the Low Magic Era five hundred years ago, not the High Magic Era.
"Speaking of which, in this era where five hundred knights could serve as a large army, the Fiona Knights are indeed preposterous."
The five hundred knights Gu Shanhai referred to were all Transcendents, not re holders of knighthood titles.
"Little White, let’s go. Head to this location." Gu Shanhai released Little White from his Magic Pet pocket and used a Secondary Mind Connection to direct it to the village where he was previously.
He didn’t know if the Heroic Knights had already fled or if the camp had gained more cursed monsters transford from players.
"Wait a second. The Immortal Green Knight? Could the vile Knight Order that Morgan wields also be related to this curse?"
Gu Shanhai could confirm that so of the Green Knight Order under her were indeed Green Knights, but the rest could potentially have been assembled from Fiona Knights transford into cursed monsters.
"When the Church reclaid the Stone of Destiny through the Fiona Knights, Her Highness the elder princess likely took part as well. Although she’s a Wizard, with her mother being Queen Eglin and her father the forr Duke Dintajier, she wouldn’t need to worry about persecution from the Church. She might even beco a Wizard like rlin who serves the deity."
