Levi swayed on his feet, his transformation imdiately cancelled as his fangs, mane, claws, horns and fur retracted into his body.
The golden lightning flickered as it died completely. His expanded muscles compressed rapidly, shrinking back to their normal size. His three-ter fra collapsed down to his regular height of 1.8 ters.
"Thud!"
The mont the transformation canceled, Levi imdiately collapsed to the ground!
He gasped desperately for breath, each breathe felt like fire. His vision darkened and he almost fell unconscious. But he bit his lips and managed to hold on.
Blood dripped through the combat sleeve, from countless tears in his skin. The internal damage from forcing six golden Astra drops to detonate had devastated his body from the inside out.
His ridians were shredded. His muscles were torn in hundreds of places. Even his bones had fractures on them.
At this mont, his regeneration blood art kicked in!
"Sizzle!"
Steam rose from his body as his cells began started to regenerated. His torn muscles started gluing back together, his skin began to close, the wounds began to heal rapidly.
His ridians also began to slowly repaired themselves, rebuilding themselves cell by cell.
However, the process was incredibly painful.
Levi gritted his teeth so hard he thought they might crack. Every nerve in his body scread as his cells regenerated.
"Squeak!"
Luna flashed and quickly appeared beside him, her small figure nuzzled against him with worry.
"I’m... okay," Levi managed to speak as his lungs also regenerated.
"Just... need... a minute..."
His hand trembled as he reached for his storage ring. With slight difficulty, he channeled just enough Astra energy to activate it. A small jade bottle materialized in his palm.
He imdiately drank the Jade essence.
Instantly, pure life energy exploded through his body like a tsunami! His newly regenerated ridians suddenly flooded with power.
The healing process accelerated dramatically. His skin sealed completely within seconds. Even the fractures in his bones nded, becoming stronger than before.
Within thirty seconds, Levi was completely healed!
"Thankfully it was fast," Levi muttered, storing the jade bottle carefully back in his ring. He had maybe half the bottle left. It would be crucial for future ergencies.

Levi walked over to the male dark cultivator’s bisected corpse.
Levi drew his Severing Abyss saber and used it to cut off the corpse’s left ear, then stored the proof of kill in his storage ring.
Then he placed his right hand on the demon-cultivator’s chest and activated the Celestial Slaughter Art.
His hands moved through a series of seals, each gesture precise and deliberate. His Astra energy responded, flowing from his ridians and spreading out through his palm into the corpse.
For a mont, nothing happened.
Then—
A tiny group of light began to erge from the body!
They were pale gray, almost translucent, no larger than a firefly. They drifted upward slowly, rising from the corpse like smoke from dying embers. This was the essence of the cultivator’s life force.
Levi’s hand seals changed, becoming faster intricate!
His Astra energy wrapped around the pale gray light, guiding it, controlling it as Levi’s energy shaped it according to the Celestial Slaughter Art’s thod.
The group of light suddenly compressed!
Suddenly, the group of pale gray color darkened.
Slowly, a pattern began to form!
The pattern looked almost like half of a star—three points extending from a center, with lines connecting them.
The rune had actually ford!
The mont it stabilized, it shot forward like an arrow, flying directly toward Levi’s forehead!

The rune landed between his eyebrows!
Then it sank into his skin, disappearing from view, but he could still feel it!
The rune instantly imprinted in his muscles and the went deeper and imprinted into his bones and then went even further and sunk into deeper, and imprinted itself into his soul!
A wave of cold energy suddenly washed through Levi’s entire being!
It wasn’t painful and was actually refreshing, like jumping into cool water on a hot day. The energy spread from the rune outward, flowing through his bones, then into his muscles, then into his blood. Finally, it reached what seeem to be his soul.
Levi gasped as he felt the change!
He imdiately felt his sou grow stronger.
It was as if his soul had been a mist before and was now becoming more substantial.
At the sa ti, his body changed as well!
His muscles tightened, not growing larger but becoming more denser. His bones also strengthened.
And then he felt an oppressive aura beginning to emanate from his body.
It was faint, and barely noticeable, but it was there.
The first Slaughter Mark!
Levi clenched his fists, feeling the difference. His physical strength had increased by perhaps 2 to 5 percent. More importantly, his soul felt stronger.
"One down," Levi muttered with satisfaction. "Nine more until I reach the first threshold."
Levi turned toward the female cultivator’s corpse—Hera. He needed to extract her life essence as well.
He walked over to her body, cut off her left ear, and then placed his hand on her bountiful chest.
His hands began forming the seals again, Astra energy flowing outward to extract her life essence.
A pale gray light began to erge, smaller than the male cultivator’s had been since she was weaker. Levi’s seals guided it, spinning it, compressing it. The rune began to take shape, the pattern forming.
"BANG!"
Three figures suddenly burst into the cave!
"Fourth Leader!"
"What happened here!?"
Three dark cultivators rushed in, their eyes wild with panic. They’d clearly been drawn by the sounds of the massive battle. Two were Level 1 Genetic Soldiers, and one was Level 2.
Levi’s concentration was interrupted!
The half-ford rune imdiately destabilized. The pale gray light scattered, dissipating into the air.
"Fucking flies!"
Levi’s voice was cold with fury!
He’d been so close! And these three idiots had ruined it by interrupting at the critical mont!
His eyes blazed with killing intent as he looked at the three intruders!
