Chapter 682: Chapter 564 This is not the moon, it’s a dead god!

“So you’re planning to fly to the moon to check it out?” Vittorio looked at Lynn in surprise.

Harrov, Aurora, and Anthony were also quite interested in Lynn’s moon landing plan.

At their current level of existence, they no longer needed oxygen to sustain their bodily functions; they could survive even in the vacuum of space. However, until now, Harrov and the others had never truly left the Eternal Star under their feet, so they were sowhat intrigued.

“Indeed!” Lynn nodded. Although the moon was much smaller compared to the Eternal Star—estimated by so Astronomy Wizards to be about one-fiftieth the size—it was still imnsely vast for living beings, with a mass of several hundred quintillion tons, which significantly impacted the Eternal Star’s tides, atmosphere, rotation, and ecology.

If this satellite were controlled by enemies, it would be like having a Sword of Damocles hanging overhead, constantly posing a threat.

However, how to travel to the moon was a matter that required careful planning. The departure ti and route needed to be coordinated with the Eternal Star’s rotation, the moon’s orbit, and their flight speed.

After all, the straight-line distance between the two celestial bodies was over 400,000 kiloters. Even if they flew continuously at twice the speed of sound, it would take 200 hours or about eight and a half days. If they deviated from the course midway, it was uncertain how much longer it might take.

Lynn’s speed was several tis faster than that of Harrov and the others. Alone, he could reach it within a day. However, Lynn did not dampen everyone’s enthusiasm, and after so discussions, it was quickly decided to set the departure ti for the following night.

After addressing the most urgent matters, the focus of the next eting was on the future developnt and construction issues of the kingdom. After years of major construction, the Magic Kingdom was beginning to take shape.

In each major city, the council had built train stations, Magic Power bases, and civilian academies among other infrastructure facilities. The next step was to continue expanding into the towns, with the overall process expected to take ten years to complete the kingdom’s initial magic transformation.

This major project would also serve to alleviate poverty and promote economic developnt through trade.

With labor provided by the civilians and wages distributed by the council, various magic workshops could smoothly sell the manufactured goods, thus creating a positive cycle. As long as there was sufficient food and materials, the kingdom could develop at an extrely rapid pace.

However, Lynn still felt that the anticipated ten years was too long. He planned to develop so constructive Divine Arts and personally assist in so major construction projects to further shorten the tifra.

Several hours later, the Wizards’ Council eting ca to a close. Almost every council mber was assigned a task. It was a ti of rapid developnt for the kingdom, and there was a shortage of manpower everywhere, even high-ranking council mbers couldn’t stay idle.

In fact, no one dared to remain idle, because the changes in the kingdom and the council in recent years had been too significant. A mont’s inattention could leave one far behind the tis.

The number of High Wizards within the kingdom had now exceeded two hundred. The threshold for becoming a formal council mber was also being raised gradually. In the past, even a third-ring Wizard could get nominated by making significant contributions, but now one had to be a High Wizard at a minimum!

Thus, those mbers who had not yet made the breakthrough, or who had failed to break through, were deeply concerned, fearing they might be excluded.

Tic was one of them. Since he had been selected to join the foreign exploration team, his promotion to High Wizard had been temporarily delayed. It was only a couple of days ago when he submitted his application, he found out that just this year, there were five hundred third-ring Wizards ready to use the Magic Network’s computing power to make the breakthrough. Even scheduling one per day, it would take a year and a half to get to him.

Many sixth-ring High Wizards had also submitted applications to beco legendary Wizards, as they all knew that the number of speakers in the council could not increase indefinitely. Otherwise, it would violate the original purpose of establishing this position. Perhaps, in the future, the position might require eighth or even ninth-ring Wizards.

All these applications had been gathered by Lynn. The number was unexpectedly high. Other than letting them wait in line and using exams to eliminate so who did not et the promotion standards, there was no other good solution.

The Magic Network’s computing power seed ample, but it had to supply tens of thousands of Wizards for spell casting, utilize a large amount of computing power for promotions, and still reserve so to deal with potential threats.

By comparison, Harrov and others had it much easier now that everything was arranged. The only thing left was to prepare for tomorrow’s moon venture.

The least experienced, Anthony, stayed behind to oversee the overall situation to prevent the council from being leaderless in case of ergencies and suffer significant casualties.

A day passed in the blink of an eye. Since this moon mission was only announced internally within the council, it did not stir up much upheaval, attracting attention only from so astrological prophets and Astronomy Wizards.

Yoland was the most enthusiastic, even asking if more people could be brought along, clearly wanting to witness the moon’s appearance firsthand.

“Not this ti. There might be battles breaking out, and I might not be able to take care of you,” Lynn shook his head and bluntly declined.

Harrov and the other legendary figures were fine, as they at least had the ability to survive in the cosmos. Yoland was different. Once out of his protection, he likely couldn’t last even a few minutes, with a lung eruption being one of the relatively quick and humane ways to die.

Yoland was quite disappointed but did not insist further, simply watching as several council mbers took off toward the sky in their energy forms.

“Oh, the moon!” Yoland looked up at the bright, twinkling stars in the night sky. According to Chairman Lynn, each pinpoint of light represented a star or even an entire galaxy, possibly ho to kingdoms, churches, or wizards…

As Yoland and the others mused, Harrov, Aurora, and Vittorio had already soared ten thousand ters into the sky, piercing the troposphere, but still a considerable distance from completely escaping the atmosphere of the Eternal Star.

As they climbed rapidly in altitude, a trace of fear subtly erged in their hearts. It was not cowardice, but the trepidation of leaving the planet they relied on for survival and heading into the Endless Void.

In the vast cosmos, direction, speed, and ti seed to lose their aning. After flying out of the ionosphere, this feeling beca even more profound.

Harrov was not even sure if he was still flying, nor did he know how fast he was going, since Aurora and Vittorio were moving at speeds not much different from his, lacking reference points and without air resistance,

The three of them seed to aimlessly float in the cosmic void, gaining a deeper understanding of the concepts of relative speed and distance in quantum theory.

“Is this the Eternal Star?” Aurora turned her head back to gaze down at the huge, magnificent planet beneath them and uttered her thoughts in awe.

Harrov and Vittorio were no exception, witnessing the splendor and grandeur of the Eternal Star despite their experiences with planets in smaller cosmoses.

The entire planet was azure blue, with most of the visible areas covered by oceans and islands scattered across like stars in the sky.

At the center of the ocean lay a continent that took up a third of the visible area, the domain of the kingdom, veiled by thin clouds, with green forests, yellow deserts, and white snowy areas…

This was the complete view of the world they depended on for their survival, a unique planet of life.

Beyond the continent where the kingdom was located, a few smaller landmasses existed on the planet, just not visible from their current vantage point.

The council had recently sent people to explore these lands, and the latest news reported the discovery of only so very primitive natives.

According to the records in the church docunts, a thousand years ago, the people on this continent also existed in tribal forms. It must be said that the Moon God from foreign lands, along with her system of Divine Arts, greatly advanced the civilization of the beings on this planet.

“Alright, let’s take another look when we co back; there will be plenty of ti then…” Lynn spoke with a smile. Having been a spaceship pilot in his previous life, he had seen similar scenes many tis and was quite accustod to them.

Perhaps because of the magic power and being unpolluted, the Eternal Star looked much more beautiful than Earth, possessing an almost dreamlike beauty that was intoxicating.

“By the way, Chairman Lynn, how is Altoc doing?” Vittorio suddenly rembered his colleague who had transford into a quantum state and incessantly asked.

Now that Lynn had transcended into the God Realm and acquired the ability to interfere with higher-dinsional realms, he might be able to rescue Altoc.

“Unfortunately, it’s too late. I visited Wizard Land a few days ago, and his consciousness has completely dissipated, even showing signs of domain collapse,” Lynn said, sowhat helplessly.

If only he could have made his breakthrough a month or two earlier, there might have been hope for him. Now, it was feared he was nearly assimilated.

Upon hearing this, Harrov and the others fell silent, sighing after a long ti, but this outco was not unexpected. Even ascending to legend had many risks, let alone a divine ascension ceremony.

Attempting to control power far beyond one’s own capabilities was extrely dangerous.

What followed was a prolonged silence. This bad news brought their spirits down, and no one else spoke for the remainder of the journey.

Traveling through the vast universe was undoubtedly tedious. All sense of novelty was exhausted within days, leaving only the endless dark spaces behind.

After an indeterminate amount of ti, the planet beneath them grew increasingly smaller, and Aurora grew impatient, beginning to doubt whether they had taken the wrong route, when Harrov suddenly spoke.

“Look, it’s the Moon, it’s coming towards us!”

They imdiately looked in the direction Harrov was pointing. A silver-gray dot was slowly approaching them. As the distance closed, it gradually grew larger, just as they had calculated. The Moon’s orbit was perfectly poised to reach right in front of them!

“This is…” Lynn, also observing this scene, wore a grave expression, because in the higher-dinsional view, this was not a planet at all, but a corpse — the dead body of the Moon God!
