The night was pitch black, silent in every direction.

Then a low roar shattered the stillness, like a demon howling straight out of hell.

A massive canine shadow leapt from the darkness.

Its body was enormous, wrapped in black flas.

Crimson eyes burned in the night, filled with savage intent.

Foul, corrosive saliva dripped endlessly from its jaws.

Jagged fangs glead, as if they could tear apart anything in their path.

What truly chilled the blood was this.

It had three heads.

Six blood red eyes locked onto Zayne and Eva at the sa ti.

This was the legendary Hellhound, Cerberus.

A true high tier monster.

Low tier monsters and high tier monsters existed on completely different levels.

Low tier monsters were weak in both strength and intelligence.

Their level cap was only 50.

Level 50 was the absolute ceiling for low tier monsters.

Slis were a classic example.

High tier monsters were different.

They were vastly stronger, had higher level caps, and possessed real intelligence.

They could think, plan, and even set traps.

A single high tier monster could easily tear apart over a dozen low tier monsters of the sa level.

And the Cerberus in front of them was level 36.

No wonder Eva had been badly injured at the start.

If she had not been saving Zayne, she could have dodged that first strike.

"Get farther away. This thing is dangerous."

Zayne spoke calmly to Eva.

This Cerberus was likely the strongest monster in the entire Champion Secret Realm.

Cerberus growled as it circled the campfire.

Its posture made one thing clear.

Zayne and Eva were prey.

"Fireball!"

Zayne struck first.

He activated a skill scroll.

Under Absolute Ascension, Fireball instantly transford into Wrath of the Fla God.

A massive red gold blazing sun slamd toward Cerberus.

But at that mont, Zayne felt sothing strange.

From those six enormous eyes, he sensed an emotion.

Contempt.

The second head opened its jaws wide.

It bit straight into the blazing sun.

Gulp.

Zayne’s Forbidden Spell was swallowed whole.

"What kind of monster is this?!"

Zayne felt his scalp go numb.

This was his first encounter with a high tier monster.

He never expected sothing this terrifying.

It had eaten a Forbidden Spell in a single bite.

After swallowing the spell, Cerberus’s eyes showed a disturbingly human mockery.

Then the third head opened its mouth.

A stream of thick green, foul slling liquid sprayed toward Zayne.

Zayne frowned.

He sacrificed two kidneys, pushing his Agility to ten tis its normal value.

He dodged hard to the side.

That green liquid was insanely corrosive.

Eva had already proven that firsthand.

Zayne had no intention of touching it.

The massive head tracked him, spraying nonstop.

Wherever the liquid passed, flowers, grass, and trees dissolved instantly.

Even the ground smoked as it was eaten away.

Zayne had just avoided the corrosive spray when he felt a violent rush of air behind him.

He spun around.

A massive black claw slashed toward him.

He did not dare block it.

He jumped sideways at full speed, barely avoiding the killing blow.

At that mont, Zayne understood.

Against a monster like this, hesitation ant death.

"Forbidden Spell Infernal Overdrive!"

Brilliant crimson flas erupted from Zayne’s body.

His life force burned violently.

Without Infernal Overdrive’s full stat amplification, he had no chance against Cerberus.

"You like swallowing things?"

Zayne raised his hand.

"I will make sure you choke."

tallic energy surged from his body.

Golden sparks gathered in his palm, condensing rapidly.

A radiant golden spear took shape.

"Forbidden Spell Eternal Adamant!"

The spear shot forward like a teor, ripping through the night.

Its montum was unstoppable.

Eternal Adamant’s unique luster flowed along the shaft.

It looked capable of piercing anything.

Fear flickered in Cerberus’s eyes.

It was quickly replaced by ferocity.

The second head roared and spewed black flas, trying to block the attack.

But Eternal Adamant specialized in piercing power.

Its destructive range might not rival Worldbane Thunderfall.

Its penetration was unmatched.

The spear tore through the black flas.

It plunged straight into the second head’s mouth and deep into its throat.

A shrill, agonized scream echoed through the forest.

Cerberus’s massive body convulsed violently.

The pain was unimaginable.

The second head twitched for a mont.

Then it drooped lifelessly.

Another head was down.

Cerberus went berserk.

The first head, which had not attacked yet, erupted in fury.

It opened its mouth wide and released a strange black mist.

The aura was thick with decay and death.

It felt like the end of all things.

Where the mist passed, everything withered.

Flowers collapsed.

Leaves turned brittle and dead.

A terrified white rabbit fled blindly and ran straight into the mist.

In an instant, it collapsed.

Its body dried out completely.

Anyone hit by that would suffer the sa fate.

Zayne’s eyes burned with anger.

"Rabbits are adorable. How dare you kill one."

"Fireball!"

Sa spell.

But now Zayne had Infernal Overdrive’s full amplification.

The red gold sun that appeared this ti was several tis more terrifying.

The black mist evaporated the mont it got close.

The blazing sun continued forward, crashing toward Cerberus.

Cerberus roared and slamd its massive claw down.

Boom.

The blazing sun exploded apart.

But the claw was scorched black, releasing a strong burnt stench.

At the sa ti, Zayne appeared at Cerberus’s side.

"Forbidden Spell Eternal Adamant!"

Another golden spear ford instantly.

Against massive targets, Eternal Adamant was perfect.

It was impossible to miss.

This ti, Zayne aid at the third head.

The one that sprayed corrosive liquid.

Just as the spear was about to strike, sothing unbelievable happened.

The second head, which should have been dead, suddenly moved.

It snapped its jaws shut.

Clang.

It bit down on the flying golden spear.

Zayne froze.

He clearly rembered it.

That head had been pierced straight through the skull.

It should have been dead beyond doubt.

Yet in monts, the wound was completely gone.

The head looked perfectly fine.

"WTF?! It revived?!"
