Ti was like money saved for a wedding fund. It took forever to save, but vanished the mont you spent it.

In the blink of an eye, the night was over.

To be fair, good results really did co with perks. The exam venue had arranged private rooms for every remaining candidate to rest.

Fully refreshed, Zayne arrived at Blackstone Plaza and imdiately ran into Nia.

She had dark circles under her eyes. It was obvious she had barely slept.

"I will not lose to you in the arena," Nia said through clenched teeth.

"Uh..."

Zayne was speechless.

He had no idea what was wrong with her. Ever since the class awakening ceremony, she had been targeting him nonstop.

He could not be bothered to respond.

Soon after, Kasady and the other examiners arrived on schedule.

"Today marks the start of the arena matches."

"For all other candidates, the college entrance trial is already over."

"For you, it has only just begun."

"The rules are simple."

"The matches use a draw system. Everyone must fight at least five rounds."

"Each win grants ten points and advances you to the next round."

"A loss does not deduct points. However, once you lose, you are placed into the loser bracket."

"That ans you are out of the championship race."

"The one who wins from start to finish will be crowned the champion of this year’s Old Shipyard Port college entrance trial."

"One more thing."

"The arena matches will be live stread."

"That ans your parents, relatives, and friends are watching right now outside the venue."

"They are cheering for you."

The mont Kasady finished speaking, a candidate who had been picking his nose froze on the spot.

"Alright. The draw begins."

"There are one hundred and four candidates."

"This box contains one hundred and four numbered balls."

"Number one faces number one hundred and four."

"Number two faces number one hundred and three."

"And so on."

"After drawing your number, follow the proctor to your assigned arena."

As Kasady spoke, a proctor stepped forward carrying a large box covered with black cloth.

Zayne quickly understood the system.

Everyone had to fight at least five rounds.

To win the championship, you had to fight six, seven, or even eight rounds.

The rules looked flawed at first glance.

In reality, they were perfectly fair.

The champion was ant to be the strongest.

If you could not win from start to finish, you did not deserve the title.

As for everyone else, even if you drew a stronger opponent early on, true strength would still carry you through the remaining matches.

In the end, power spoke louder than anything else.

A sharp glint flashed in Zayne’s eyes.

To enter Supre Academy, this championship was non negotiable.

Candidates drew their numbers one by one.

When it was Zayne’s turn, he reached in and pulled out a ball marked eighteen.

"What number did you get?" Francis asked nervously.

"Eighteen," Zayne replied.

"Eighteen?" Francis grinned. "I got twenty four."

"That is great. Looks like I will not run into you anyti soon."

He let out a huge sigh of relief.

If he t Zayne in the first round, he would ntally collapse on the spot.

As long as he avoided Zayne, Nia, and Evan, his level fifteen strength was more than enough to sweep the arena.

Guided by the proctor, Zayne stepped onto one of the arenas.

According to the rules, his opponent was the candidate who drew number eighty six.

A petite girl stood across from him.

She looked stubborn, with determination written all over her face.

"Both candidates, please stand inside the circle," the proctor said flatly.

"Do not make any unnecessary movents before I announce the start."

"Now, please display your class and level."

Zayne, Forbidden Spellcaster, Level 18

Bella, Water Mage, Level 10

"Class and level confird. Match start."

Zayne glanced at her stats and twitched slightly.

"You should concede," he said.

"No. I will not surrender," Bella replied.

"You are strong, but do not look down on . Make your move."

Her expression was stubborn.

Her palm sized face was full of resolve.

Anyone who scored above eighty five in the comprehensive assessnt was no pushover.

After making it to the arena, she had no intention of giving up easily.

It was not that Zayne looked down on her.

The problem was simple.

He only knew Forbidden Spells.

With their level gap and her fragile mage body, Zayne knew the outco.

Any Forbidden Spell would seriously injure her at best.

At worst, it would kill her.

She clearly was not backing down.

Zayne sighed helplessly and shook his head.

Then he sacrificed one of his wisdom teeth.

"Forbidden Spell Worldbane Thunderfall."

Zayne spoke calmly and raised his right hand toward the sky.

Violent thunderclouds gathered instantly.

Blinding silver arcs of lightning slithered through the clouds like living serpents.

Boom.

A ferocious lightning dragon as thick as a man’s embrace surged down from the clouds.

It connected directly to Zayne’s hand like a chain of thunder.

At that mont, Zayne looked like a god commanding lightning itself.

The terrifying scene drew every live broadcast cara toward the arena.

The candidates on site stopped and turned to look.

"Damn. He opens with a Forbidden Spell and straight up calls lightning?"

"What did that little girl do to deserve divine punishnt?"

"She is so small. How is she supposed to survive lightning that thick?"

"When people say risking your life, they an it figuratively."

"This guy actually ans it."

Casting a Forbidden Spell in a college entrance arena was absurd.

It was like Michael Jordan joining an elentary school basketball ga.

The proctor panicked and shouted in fear.

"Zayne. Killing is strictly forbidden in the arena."

"Do that and your college entrance trial qualification will be revoked."

"I do not want to either," Zayne said helplessly.

"Then get her to surrender."

Bella stood frozen in place.

She had already seen Zayne’s recordings yesterday.

She knew he was strong.

But watching a video and facing him directly were completely different experiences.

Standing across from Zayne, she finally understood how terrifying he truly was.

Bella felt like a rookie stepping into the ring.

Then she saw pri Mike Tyson walk toward her.

He shook her hand and smiled.

"Hello. I am today’s referee, Tyson."

"Your opponent is the Hulk from the Avengers."

Under that crushing pressure, Bella’s legs gave out.

She collapsed onto the ground with a thud.

The next second, she burst into tears.
