Jianghan People's Hospital.

Oncology Departnt.

Xie Yuguang carried a basin and a boiling water bottle to the water room.

Ever since his father was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, he's been intermittently staying in the hospital for two or three years now.

Xie Yuguang had gone from initial despair to a state of usual acceptance and had ntally prepared himself for whenever his father might pass.

After all, liver cancer is scarier than other cancers, not to ntion it's in the late stage.

After several surgeries and seven or eight rounds of radiation and chemotherapy, not only did his father's cancer cells not decrease, but they increased, even spreading to the bone marrow.

Even with dication, he suffered from sleepless nights, recently complaining of a bloated stomach and leg pain.

After the doctor checked him, they only prescribed so painkillers, but they were of no real help.

However, most of the other patients in the ward were the sa. Although Xie Yuguang knew his father was suffering every day, he was utterly helpless.

Besides giving money and companionship, there was nothing he could do.

"He can cure cancer? Who told you that?"

"It's what's been spreading around lately. You didn't know?"

"I'm at the hospital every day; how would I know? And just because everyone's talking about it doesn't an it's true. Don't get fooled."

"It shouldn't be a trick. The TV station even did a program on that doctor. He cured a patient who had been paralyzed for several years, making them able to move, so he must have so skills!"

"Paralysis and cancer are unrelated. Even if he can treat paralysis, cancer might be beyond him. That's a terminal illness."

"As if paralysis isn't terminal? Just look at the stroke paralysis patients in hospitals; how many have been cured? Anyway, I'm definitely taking my mother to give it a shot."

"..."

While washing his face, Xie Yuguang overheard two people chatting in the restroom next to the water room.

He wasn't very interested initially, but the content caught his attention.

However, after listening, he only chuckled and didn't take it to heart.

Over the years, he had visited hospitals nationwide. Any doctor who saw his father's scans and reports said that chemotherapy and radiation were the only options to control it, and a cure was out of the question.

He had also tried to locate doctors online who claid they could cure cancer, but after nurous treatnts, there was no effect.

He spent a lot of money, yet the disease showed no improvent.

Moreover, he had tried both traditional Chinese dicine and Western dicine, searching for any possible solution.

Not a single doctor could offer help.

That was why Xie Yuguang had given up completely.

He had already asked the doctor to stop the radiation and chemotherapy, considering they couldn't cure cancer and only made his father suffer each ti, he decided against further tornt. He wanted his father to have peace in his remaining ti.

After freshening up, Xie Yuguang fetched a jug of hot water and returned to the ward to wipe his father down.

Once he finished, he tidied up and unfolded the folding bed, lying down without feeling sleepy.

Since his father was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, he had developed insomnia, which hadn't improved over ti.

But he was used to it.

Unconsciously, as fatigue gradually overwheld him, his thoughts slowed, and he drifted into slumber. After so ti, he suddenly felt it was noisy by his ears. Though the sound wasn't loud, it jolted his sensitive nerves.

The next mont, he slowly opened his eyes to see the elderly woman in the adjacent bed getting dressed, while her daughter and son quietly mumbled sothing.

"It's only four, sis. Do we really need to get mom up?"

"I'm already late. If we head over now, it'll be about four or five o'clock. Yesterday, when I passed Garden Street at seven, there were already several hundred people. If you're not within the first hundred, you can forget about seeing a doctor today."

"Is that Dr. Lu really so amazing? I heard others ntion him too yesterday."

"I don't know about amazing, but I do know there's a patient with terminal lung cancer, declared incurable by hospitals, who's being treated there and doing particularly well now."

"Wow!!"

"Shh, keep it down; others are still sleeping!"

Newly awakened, Xie Yuguang was taken aback. Terminal lung cancer can be treated!?

"Sis, where did you hear this news?"

"A leader at our office knows his teacher, who is a legitimate National Master of Chinese dicine. There are only dozens nationwide. I asked through connections to see if the National Master would help us with mom. After my leader conveyed the ssage, the Master said his student could try, and that student is Dr. Lu."

"Aren't you with the governnt? How do you even associate with traditional Chinese dicine?"

"The National Master is setting up a dicinal herb base here and held several etings with our unit leader. Lately, our unit is helping with their new hospital's construction, which should be up and running in a month or so."

"Will the National Master oversee it?"

"I don't know. Hurry up, or we'll miss it!"

"Okay, okay…"

Soon, the elderly woman was dressed and seated in a wheelchair with her children's help, leaving the ward.

Back in the ward, Xie Yuguang was unsettled.

Though he had sought countless doctors over the years, he hadn't found a National Master of Chinese dicine.

If what the siblings next door said was true, should he try once more with his father?

For a mont, Xie Yuguang hesitated.

He wasn't afraid of spending money; even if he got scamd out of thousands more, he didn't care. The key issue was if traditional Chinese dicine proved ineffective and caused his father further discomfort, it wouldn't be worthwhile.

Perhaps he should go and see first…

He felt he couldn't rely solely on hearsay; he had to see the doctor personally to discern the truth.

Having made up his mind, he told his father a few things before leaving the ward.

As he exited the hospital, he hailed a taxi.

"Driver, Garden Street."

The taxi driver glanced at the rearview mirror, "Sorry, Garden Street is a no-go. How about I drop you off at Qianyang Road?"

Perplexed, Xie Yuguang asked, "Why?"

The driver chuckled, "You don't know? Garden Street's been jamd for nearly a month. Electric bikes might be okay, but not cars. The double-lane road has been temporarily controlled by traffic police and turned into a single lane."

Recalling the siblings' words, Xie Yuguang asked, "Is it because of Lu's Clinic?"

The driver stepped on the gas, driving away from the hospital, "That's the one. Lately, that small clinic's beco infamous. They say the Chinese dicine there is excellent. So of our colleagues have bad lumbar discs, but after one acupuncture session, the relief was significant. Though the condition can't be cured due to our job, whenever discomfort arises, they just go back for a needle."

"Moreover, a friend of mine's father had atrophic gastritis and couldn't get better for years in the hospital. After drinking half a month of Chinese dicine from that clinic, can you guess? The bloating disappeared, no more pain, nausea, acid reflux or anxiety vanished. When he went for a hospital check-up, the doctors were puzzled. His last film still showed gastric mucosal erosion, yet it healed."

"To be honest, it even makes want to visit that clinic. But each ti I pass by and see the throngs of people by six or seven, I know it's futile. In our work hours, there's no ti to queue for a consultation without taking a leave…"

The chatty taxi driver filled Xie Yuguang with hope as they drove.

With so many praising the clinic, the doctor must have genuine skills.

After all, soone without substance couldn't have been a student of the National Master of Chinese dicine.

A glimr of hope appeared for Xie Yuguang.

Soon, the car arrived at the intersection of Qianyang Road and Garden Street. After paying and getting off, when he turned the corner, he saw the crowd a hundred ters down Garden Street!

Xie Yuguang was taken aback.

This… is too exaggerated!!?
