…
"Get ready. We are about to depart!"
"Hurry up!"
"We are moving the schedule."
The sailors and the slaves were moving faster. Theo couldn't help but look at them from above the ship.
"Is there sothing bothering you?" Gonzalez asked.
"It's nothing. Even though you say they are slaves, they don't look like they are being treated harshly." Theo pointed at the people below.
He was right. He thought the slaves would be mistreated, and there would be a lot of whips and deaths around.
However, those slaves might look tired, but their bodies were quite good and maintained. They didn't look like slaves at all.
The admiral chuckled. "So that's what you're worried about. It's true that there are slaves in this world. I'm not planning to sugarcoat it, but there are indeed slaves that are treated that way.
"To be honest, there are four slave categories in this world. The first is to the household slaves. Most slaves are in this category. They are people who sell themselves into slavery for one reason or another, mostly due to money.
"The second category is the criminal slaves. As the na implies, they are criminals who are reduced to slaves. Theft, war cris, and so on… Those reasons will turn them into this category.
"The third category is special slaves. They are usually educated slaves. They are able to do almost anything with their brain. The slaves in this category usually co from either fallen nobles or the owners who are training their slaves this way.
"The last one is sword slaves. Even though we call them sword slaves, they can wield other weapons. They have the quality of knights since the first requirent to be put into this category is to activate their knight link.
"Among these four, the slaves treated the worst are definitely the criminal slaves. After that, the household slaves. They are usually trained by the slave rchants to serve as maids or sothing like that.
"The third category is quite respected because they can handle business and other things. If you treat them well, they might even bring you a lot more money.
"Last but not least, the sword slaves are the most respected because they were forrly considered knights. They might have been reduced to slaves, but they are still quite strong.
"The slaves we are bringing on this expedition are the sword slaves and the household slaves. In addition, they have to be treated well because if they are getting sick or anything, the warships will be in trouble. We still need them to handle the boat after all. It can be said that they are half sailors. That's why…"
Theo closed his eyes for a mont. "I see."
"By the way, the reason I ca here is to discuss your student's strategy." He sighed. He couldn't help but rember what Haruka actually suggested.
A mont ago.
"In that case, don't you think it's better if we make another surprise to have an overwhelming victory?" Haruka asked.
"What do you an? I have to remind you that this is a naval battle. You can't simply move so fast. And it's an extrely complicated battle. I can't even explain to you how complicated it is in a short amount of ti."
Haruka shook her head. "I might not understand them, but there is sothing that might work. It's not relying on the speed of the boat, but the positioning and the attack range. For soone like you, destroying a ship from a very far distance shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Huh?" When Haruka explained her plans, he couldn't help but get shocked.
The admiral turned to Theo and said, "We have found a place where the plan might work. However, there are three problems. The first one is the ship. I'm sure that the enemy has found out about our number. They are a pretty big pirate group, so they might have spies everywhere."
"That is not a problem." Theo shook his head. "I have a solution for that problem. And I see another ship that we could use from here. With your authority, you should be able to get that ship, right?"
The admiral thought for a mont and nodded. "Yes. In that case, the second problem is how we are going to lure them out."
Theo crossed his arms for a second before asking, "Have you captured so pirates before? Are they still here or maybe locked up here?"
"A lot of them have been turned into criminal slaves, but there are still so who are locked behind the bars."
"In that case, we will bring them as well. If you don't mind about the strategy, I have a way to lure them out."
The admiral nodded. "If we can win with minimal loss, I can sort out the problem later. So if the plan works, I will agree to it."
"Good. What about the third condition?"
The admiral's expression turned serious. "It's actually the enemy itself. Their leader is a very powerful man and a good sailor. I'm afraid that this won't be an easy battle. It will be troubleso if I'm heavily injured either, since I might not be able to do anything on the island. Also, the enemy number is quite high."
Theo smirked. "I usually fight on land, so I'm a bit unfamiliar with naval battles. However, there is one thing I want to ask. Will sailing today have a potential thunderstorm or sothing?"
"No. Looking at the condition, it doesn't seem the weather will change."
"In that case, I have one solution."
Theo began explaining his plan, which dumbfounded the admiral. If Haruka gave the idea, Theo simply perfected it.
As soon as he knew what to do, the admiral imdiately handled all the preparation.
anwhile, Theo returned to the deck and found Haruka actually talking with a blond-haired woman. The problem was that she had an iron shackle on her neck.
