"What do we do now, Dad?"
Seeing that the child’s arm might be broken, the mother was already too anxious to think clearly, and could only place all her hopes on the father.
However, the father was not a doctor either, and was montarily at a loss.
But he quickly regained his composure, turning his eyes to Ji Yongfeng, who had reminded the couple: "Old sir, are you a doctor? Can you take a look at my child’s arm to see what the situation is?"
"I’m not a doctor. I just saw how badly the child was crying, with the right hand moving but the left one having no response, so I thought there might be sothing wrong with the arm."
Ji Yongfeng shook his head and urged, "You should hurry and take the child to the hospital."
"Yes, yes, quickly take the child to the hospital. A scan will show what’s going on." another bystander reminded.
Only then did the couple snap out of it, gathering their things and the child’s stroller, ready to run down the mountain carrying multiple bags.
"Don’t rush, don’t rush. The path down the mountain is treacherous; if you rush and fall, it will be even more serious. Plus, you’re carrying so many things that if you do fall, it won’t be just an arm injury anymore; it could be life-threatening," an elderly man imdiately warned as he saw the couple charging forward.
Seeing how anxious they were, Ji Yongfeng knew that if they kept running like this and took a tumble, it could be fatal.
Thinking of this, Ji Yongfeng quickly called out to them: "You two, don’t be in such a hurry. A fall can hurt the child’s arm but it’s not that serious. Take him to the hospital for a scan, and it will be fine. But if you fall on the way down the mountain, that will be a real problem."
"This old gentleman is right. Don’t rush, take it easy."
...
The bystanders all advised them, and only then did the couple stop, looking back at Ji Yongfeng, still trembling: "Thank you, sir."
"It’s nothing to thank for. I just wanted to remind you not to be so worried about the child that you forget about safety. It’s too dangerous to run down this mountain path; a fall could be life-threatening." Ji Yongfeng earnestly said.
"Yes, yes."
The man nodded repeatedly, thanking Ji Yongfeng, then turned to take the child down the mountain to the hospital.
However, just as they were about to leave, Ji Yongfeng seed to rember sothing and called out to the couple, "If you’re not in too much of a hurry, you can leave the child here with his mother to look after while you go up and find a doctor nad Lu. Have him take a look, and you might save a trip to the hospital and no need to rush down the mountain and risk an accident."
"There’s a doctor on the mountain?" The man was taken aback.
Ji Yongfeng nodded, "It takes a bit of ti to get up there, but I haven’t seen them co down, so they should still be up there. It’s only a few minutes away from here to the top. If you’re really worried about the child’s arm, it’s best to find Dr. Lu to take a look."
"Dr. Lu? Is that Dr. Lu from the Qiu City Street Health Center?" At this ti, a middle-aged woman suddenly asked.
Ji Yongfeng instinctively looked over: "Do you know Dr. Lu?"
"Know him? I’ve been treated by Dr. Lu for my chronic issues. I took dicine for a week and got better. I still rember the kindness of Dr. Lu. I’ve been to big hospitals countless tis, spending money with no results, but Dr. Lu’s dicine cost only a few dozen yuan and cured . Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here climbing mountains." The middle-aged woman finished, smiling at Ji Yongfeng, "Was the old gentleman also a patient of Dr. Lu’s? What was the illness?"
"It was a stroke, but Dr. Lu detected it before it happened." Ji Yongfeng replied with a cheerful smile.
The middle-aged woman was startled, "Wow, that serious! A stroke is no small matter. Luckily, Dr. Lu caught it in ti."
Even though it wasn’t about herself, the middle-aged woman felt a chill upon hearing of a stroke precursor.
But then she imdiately turned to the couple, "If Dr. Lu is here, you can go ask Dr. Lu to take a look. He’s very skilled."
With recomndations from both Ji Yongfeng and the middle-aged woman, the man felt sowhat tempted. After contemplating, he handed the child to his wife, instructing, "I’ll go look for this Dr. Lu that the gentleman ntioned. You watch the child, I’ll be right back."
The woman was montarily surprised, but then nodded quickly, "Alright, you go, take care."
The man, without thinking further, ran straight up the mountain.
From halfway up to the Baoguo Temple at the top, it only took two or three minutes running. As Lu Xuan and his companions exited the Baoguo Temple and prepared to sit on the stone benches at the entrance like everyone else for a rest with so snacks and fruit, a voice called out, "Excuse , who is Dr. Lu?"
"Looking for you?" Ji Xiuwen turned, puzzled, to look at Lu Xuan.
"Do you know them?"
Lu Xuan shook his head, "I don’t think so; I’m not the only one with the last na Lu."
But despite what he said, Lu Xuan instinctively glanced around, noticing that no one responded to the man’s call. Just as he was about to speak, the man continued, "My child’s arm is injured; it might be dislocated or broken. I was thinking of going to the hospital for an X-ray, but an old gentleman on the platform halfway up the mountain said there was a doctor nad Lu up here I could see, so I ca up..."
Hearing this, Lu Xuan realized that the man was indeed looking for him.
After all, he had just been on the mid-mountain platform and t Old Mr. Ji, plus the man ntioned the doctor being nad Lu. There weren’t many doctors who t both criteria.
