Add half a dose each of Chaihu and Cinnamon Soup. On one hand, add Kudzu Root to Cinnamon Soup to disperse the exterior evil of the Taiyang ridian, and on the other, use Little Chaihu Decoction to harmonize and resolve the half-exterior and half-interior evil of the Shaoyang. The combination of the herbs aligns with the symptoms, hence the rapid effect.

This formula seems to treat both the interior and exterior, dealing with the evil of both Taiyang and the evening sun, and the deficiency of Taiyin, simultaneously rectifying and expelling evil—truly a marvelous formula for treating the three ridians and eliminating high fevers."

Hearing this, Ji Xiuwen subconsciously nodded: "I've read the dical book written by Li Dongheng, and I vaguely rember it ntioning the concept of using sweet and warm to remove high fevers, but I can't recall the details."

Lu Xuan replied with a smile: "During the Jin-Yuan period, Mr. Li Dongyuan pointed out in 'On the Spleen and Stomach - On the Transmission of Emptiness and Fullness in the Spleen and Stomach': "When dietary irregularities occur and there is an imbalance of cold and heat, the spleen and stomach are hard.

This is due to joy, anger, worry, and fear, which deplete the Primordial Qi and assist the heart fire. Fire and Primordial Qi cannot coexist. When fire prevails, it occupies the earth position, leading to illness.

The 'Regulating the Canon' chapter states: 'Illness from Yin arises from diet and living conditions, Yin and Yang, joy and anger.' Another part says: 'With Yin deficiency, there is internal heat... due to exertion and fatigue, the form and Qi decrease, the Qi of the grain is not abundant, the upper burner does not circulate, the lower stomach does not pass well, the stomach Qi is heated, and the heat ascends to the chest, resulting in internal heat.' Once the spleen and stomach are injured, five disturbances occur."

In his 'Distinctions and Confusions on Internal and External Injuries - On Diet and Exhaustion,' he further states: "Only with pungent sweet warm agents, can the center be replenished, and the Yang ascend, using sweet cold to drain the fire, thus healing.

The 'Inner Canon' states: 'For those overworked, warm them,' 'For those damaged, warm them.' Warming can eliminate high fever, and bitter cold dicines that drain the earth of the stomach are greatly inadvisable!"

Mr. Li Dongyuan explicitly proposed that 'warmth can remove high fever.' The thod of sweet warm to remove fever involves using pungent sweet warm dicines to benefit Qi and raise Yang, supplented by mildly cold substances to separate the Yin fire."

Ji Xiuwen couldn't help but give a thumbs-up.

Lu Xuan glared at him: "That's why I always tell you to read more dical books in your spare ti. It's not just about reading; you have to understand and rember them. In books, there's a house made of gold and a beauty like jade. The more you read, the more you'll understand them; understanding one broadly opens understanding to many."

Ji Xiuwen looked at Lu Xuan helplessly, feeling quite frustrated.

Without a photographic mory, how could one possibly finish reading all those dical books?

In a lifeti, if one can thoroughly understand one or two dical books, that's already quite impressive. To thoroughly understand all of them, even those seasoned practitioners who've imrsed themselves in Chinese dicine for fifty or sixty years probably can't achieve that.

In similar situations, just vaguely rembering that such things exist is already quite good.

As for rembering it all, Ji Xiuwen didn't dare to think about it.

...

Ti flowed like water, and the afternoon slipped by quickly.

For the afternoon's patients, Lu Xuan did not provide detailed explanations. Understanding one or two kinds of diseases a day and trying to diagnose two or three patients was already more than enough for Ji Xiuwen and Su Kenan.

Without a photographic mory and superhuman comprehension, understanding one disease a day was already a miracle.

Moreover, it depends on whether the two will review the materials a few more tis when they go back; otherwise, the likelihood of forgetting is even higher.

If forgotten, everything returns to zero.

At the end of the day, Ji Xiuwen prepared dicine for the last patient, handed it over to the pharmacy to be decocted, and told the patient to co back the next morning to pick it up.

Speaking of which, the pharmacy's work isn't light either.

There are at least a hundred people a day, and at least seventy percent of patients choose the decoction service.

Thus, overti is common for the pharmacy.

However, because the machines are sufficient, they can prepare several prescriptions at once, so the speed isn't slow.

When Lu Xuan and the others finished packing up, the pharmacy had more or less completed their tasks.

Su Kenan's ankle had improved quite a bit, but Lu Xuan still supported her as she took the elevator, then returned to the consulting room to pick up his things and left the Health Center with Ji Xiuwen.

They went to a small eatery opposite the Health Center and ordered three dishes and a soup.

After they sat down, Ji Xiuwen showed an eager expression.

Lu Xuan was still contemplating the matter of going to the Ninth Hospital that evening. When he looked up, he saw Ji Xiuwen staring at him with an unusual emotion in his eyes.

"Why are you staring at ?" Lu Xuan couldn't help but ask.

"Brother—no, my lord godfather, you promised to tell more about treating stomach diseases after work. You didn't forget, did you?" Ji Xiuwen looked resigned.

"I didn't forget!"

Lu Xuan explained: "I was just worried that if I said too much, you wouldn't rember it."

Ji Xiuwen thought about it and realized that Lu Xuan did share quite a bit with him today, to the point where his brain felt like it had turned to mush. It'll likely take a day or two to digest all he learned today.

But Ji Xiuwen, who was already prepared, wasn't going to give up easily; he could always record the conversation.

With that, under Lu Xuan's rolling eyes, he pulled out his phone, turned on the recording: "Go on, I can go back and listen to anything I don't understand or rember."

Lu Xuan suddenly thought that he should have Ji Xiuwen call him father.

Even a biological father wouldn't be this patient.

But Lu Xuan didn't refuse Ji Xiuwen's desire to learn, deciding to fulfill this wish: "Why don't you ask? Otherwise, with so many digestive system diseases, I don't know where to start."

Ji Xiuwen thought for a mont and said: "Let's start with the duodenal bulb ulcer with bleeding that I've seen. I've heard about it and still rember it well, so it should be easier to understand."

"Alright, let's start with Mr. Liu's case."

Taking advantage of the fact that the food hadn't been served yet, Lu Xuan began to speak in a voice only audible to the two of them: "When stomach pain and vomiting persist, the pulse must be wiry and rapid... This indicates a deficiency of fluid, with Yang pulse floating and choppy, floating indicating stomach Yang deficiency, choppy indicating stomach Yin deficiency. If the spleen is hard, what the stomach receives cannot be transported and transford into dregs for expulsion, resulting in regurgitation of undigested food."
