Leyvi examined the jade slip closely, his fingers tracing its surface, and said, "If soone tries to force their way into the contents without disabling the restrictions first, this one will destroy the jade slip entirely, while this other restriction will also obliterate it if soone attempts to bypass it without the correct thod. Then there's one that leaves a tracker, and the final one alerts the person who set the restrictions, likely the mastermind behind it, though I'm not sure if that alert would work properly since we're in another world."
Valenia raised an eyebrow, impressed, and asked, "You seem to know a lot about this. Where did you learn all that?"
Leyvi chuckled, scratching the back of his head, and replied, "I learned it from Sawi, when I asked her a simple question about the restrictions she placed on our family's space rings, and it turned into a hours-long lecture on all sorts of restrictions, haha. If I'd known, I might not have asked."
Each of his wives had their own areas of interest, so it was only natural that, as ti passed, he ended up learning bits and pieces about them too.
Just yesterday, during a break in their intimate monts, Valenia had excitedly shown him her collection of broadswords gathered on her journey, especially fawning over one particularly majestic blade she seed to adore.
"Oh, Sawi. That makes sense. You can break through them, right?" Valenia asked, her curiosity growing as she wondered what kind of secret Ghossy was hiding that warranted so many layers of security.
"Hahaha! Of course! Leave it to your husband. Even Alita's formation couldn't stop my Formation Dismantling ability. These little restrictions are child's play compared to that," Leyvi boasted with confidence.
Valenia rolled her eyes at his antics. If you're that confident, then stop bragging and just get on with it.
With a few practiced taps on the jade slip, Leyvi heard the familiar crashing sounds one after another, signaling that every restriction had been dismantled successfully. The contents could now be accessed without any danger or interference.
"Alright, it's done. Now let's see what that villain who dared to bully my Val has been hiding. Hopefully it's not so collection of nude images—I might go blind," Leyvi said with a grin.
"Pfft!" Valenia nearly burst into laughter at the absurd remark.
But just as Leyvi's spiritual sense delved into the jade slip and began reading its contents, his expression shifted. A look of surprise spread across his face, one that grew more serious with each passing second.
What he found inside was completely different from anything he had expected.
The jade slip turned out to be an assassination order targeting five of the six princes who had joined the expedition to the Mystic Realm. All six princes were from different kingdoms, and what truly surprised Leyvi was that the Howling Kingdom was included in the list.
Dastan Fin Howler, the Crown Prince of the Howling Kingdom, was among the targets nad in the order. This was also the first ti Leyvi learned Dastan's full na.
Alongside the main targets, the order contained detailed information about the royal guards who accompanied these princes.
Their personal profiles, behaviors, personalities, daily habits, even quirks—everything was recorded in excessive detail, and Leyvi found it strange.
He wasn't well-versed in the art of assassination, so he could only guess why such specific information about the guards was included. Was it to bypass their vigilance? Did the assassin need to eliminate them first in order to reach the princes?
Among the entries, Leyvi also noticed Cempaka's information. According to the jade slip, during this expedition, she was tasked not only with protecting the prince but also with tending to his needs if he requested it.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Poor girl. She probably didn't have a choice in the matter, Leyvi thought.
The sad thing was that now she no longer had to carry out those duties, but sothing else had happened to her. Sothing that disabled her emotions entirely, leaving her in a different kind of prison.
"So, what is it?" Valenia asked after noticing his silence. "You suddenly beca quiet."
"Oh, right. You can take a look yourself," Leyvi said as he passed the jade slip to her. With all the restrictions dismantled, he wasn't worried about it self-destructing anymore.
Valenia took the jade slip and read through it quickly. "This... an assassination order?" she muttered. "Is Ghossy an assassin? But wasn't he a noble?"
She felt confused. Ghossy never gave off the impression of an assassin. He always acted like an arrogant noble instead. But then again, perhaps that was exactly the kind of persona an assassin would use to maintain a convincing fa??ade.
After a few monts, she asked, "Ghossy's already dead. So does that an the assassination plan is off?"
"Hmm... I don't think so," Leyvi replied. "They were planning to assassinate five princes. There's no way they'd rely on just one assassin for sothing like that. There are probably more of them hidden among the expedition group."
"Then what about the sixth prince?" Valenia asked. "Why wasn't he a target? Is he the one who hired them?"
"I doubt it's that straightforward," Leyvi said. "More likely, they spared one prince on purpose so the other kingdoms would suspect him, turning his kingdom into a scapegoat. That way, they'd create chaos without needing to do anything else."
"But couldn't they figure out that it's just a scapegoat?" Valenia asked.
"It doesn't matter," Leyvi replied. "Even if they suspect sothing, they'll still have to investigate. Whether they believe it or not, their focus will be drawn to the one who looks guilty. That's the whole point—the mastermind needed soone to take the fall so the others would chase after a fake perpetrator. They want to benefit from the chaos."
Valenia blinked and looked at him curiously. "Leyvi, why do you know so much about this? I thought you weren't smart."
"Ouch, ouch. That hurts!" Leyvi clutched his chest in mock pain. "How can you say sothing so cruel to your beloved husband, Val? Ah... Anda was right. You've changed. Cold-hearted. Uncaring. You're not the sa Val since you t that new broadsword. Tell , who's more important, that broadsword or ? Choose one!"
Valenia rolled her eyes. This was supposed to be a serious discussion, and he was acting like a clown again.
Sensing her growing annoyance and realizing he didn't have Anda around to back him up this ti, Leyvi quickly dropped the act and returned to the topic. "Okay, okay. Jokes aside, you know... Sayu has a bunch of stories like this in her novels. I just guessed based on those. Hahaha."
"Cheh, so it ca from a novel." Valenia's face flattened with disappointnt. Suddenly, she didn't feel like trusting any of Leyvi's deductions anymore.
"But that clown prince sure is lucky, huh?" Leyvi added thoughtfully. "If the void tunnel hadn't gone wrong and they'd all arrived at the destination as planned, the assassination might've already happened."
Valenia nodded. She thought the sa thing.
"Here, I've already taken the amount of tal Essence Beads I needed as paynt for my service. The rest are yours. Oh, and I'm taking the jade slip too. I want to show it to Dastan so he can figure out a way to stay alive," Leyvi said as he returned the space rings and pocketed the jade slip.
Valenia tried to decline because she didn't need that many tal Essence Beads, but Leyvi insisted she have them and decided what to do with them herself, as she was the one who had obtained them.
Later, Leyvi and Valenia t up with Anda and Lilian again and shared everything they had discovered. The mont he saw the mischievous smile creeping onto Anda's face, Leyvi knew she was already cooking up so sche to take advantage of the situation.
And so, the four of them made their way back to the top-grade spirit stone mine.
"Oi, Dastan! Look at this!" Leyvi called out loudly.
"Dammit, Leyvi! Why are you so loud? This prince almost had a heart attack!" Dastan scolded. He had been in the middle of fixing the last few flaws in his core, preparing for his upcoming breakthrough to the Nascent Soul Realm.
"Hahaha! Calm down. I've got important news. It's about your life," Leyvi said.
"My life?" Dastan blinked, caught off guard. Then he frowned. If it's about my life, why are you laughing like that? Do you want
dead or sothing?
"You're trying to troll
again, aren't you? Hmph! This prince won't fall for it! Go bother soone else! Yeah, go trick that Salmon girl instead," Dastan said, waving him off.
Leyvi stared blankly. What the heck? He didn't believe . Did I really troll him that much?
"Here. Take a look at the jade slip. My wife got it from soone she killed," he said, tossing the slip over.
"Hmph. You better not be ssing with ..." Dastan muttered as he took it and began reading.
"FUCK!" he suddenly shouted. "Who the hell planned this?! Soone's seriously trying to kill this prince?!"
