35: 35.

Professor Qian Ping 35: 35.

Professor Qian Ping Lu Li ca to the apartnt door and knocked, saying,

“Jessica, it’s .”

The sound of bare feet running quickly ca from inside, and in no ti the door swung open with a bang, and Jessica rushed out.

She was wearing one of Lu Li’s T-shirts, revealing her smooth, long legs.

She imdiately jumped into Lu Li’s arms and pecked his face several tis, excitedly saying,

“You’re finally back~”

“Sorry, I’ve been a bit busy lately…”

Lu Li, holding sothing in one hand, picked up the girl with the other and walked into the house.

The ho was spotless and well-organized, making one feel at ease.

Lu Li smiled and asked, “Not bored staying at ho alone?

What have you been up to?”

“Not bored, I’ve been learning about firearms and Xia Language…

You, however, have changed a lot~”

Jessica was amazed at Lu Li’s arm strength!

At 1.6 ters and 45 kilograms, she was easily picked up with one hand by this refined man!

The young girl pinched Lu Li’s arm and cooed with a giggle, “You are so strong~”

“I have been exercising~”

Lu Li set down the young girl and ruffled her hair.

Jessica’s smile was as radiant as a blooming flower, and she was incredibly happy.

She quickly fetched him a pair of slippers and started fiddling with the coffee machine.

Lu Li put on the slippers and sat on the sofa, taking out a new cellphone that he had barely used.

His main goal for this return trip was to replicate the Calming Incense.

While the Calming Incense used many fragrant plants and animals from Xia Country, and its processing technique was also traditionally Xia Country’s, it had to be done by professional institutions within the country.

Lu Li certainly didn’t have the connections for this, and starting from scratch would consu a lot of energy.

But his father, Lu Hongbing, did!

Lu Li unlocked the phone and searched for “Professor Qian Ping” on the browser, and instantly several pages of related news appeared.

This man was the Xia Country scholar who had participated in Harvard University’s “Discovery of Human ridians” research.

The research results had caused a huge stir internationally!

Whether the ridians existed had always been controversial; now that they were confird to truly exist, it was as if a brand new human organ had been discovered.

And what was even more shocking—how did the people of Xia Country from thousands of years ago know about this?

With this discovery, Professor Qian Ping returned ho internationally lauded.

Coincidentally, he was also an old friend of Lu Li’s father, Lu Hongbing!

The Calming Incense was of utmost importance and not to be underestimated, so Lu Li planned to use his father’s connections from before his passing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At this mont, Lu Li pulled out a suitcase that contained his father’s urn.
It also held his father’s belongings, including his phone.
Turning on the old smartphone, he indeed found Qian Ping’s number in the contacts.
“Hopefully it hasn’t changed…”
Lu Li dialed the number from his own phone, and to his surprise, the call actually went through, ringing a colorful tune:
[The Traditional Chinese dicine Science Academy, the national comprehensive institution for scientific research, dical treatnt, and education within the field of Chinese dicine…]
Lu Li’s heart leapt, “That’s right!
Professor Qian Ping works at the Traditional Chinese dicine Science Academy!
Looks like this number is correct!”
A few seconds later, the call connected, and a steady voice ca through:
[Hello, this is Qian Ping, who’s this?]
There was a hint of confusion in the voice, as this was a private number, not known to the general public.
Lu Li quickly responded, “Hello Professor Qian, I am Lu Li, Lu Hongbing’s son.”
The other side paused for a mont, then suddenly acknowledged,
[Oh…
it’s Lu Li…
Long ti no see.
How has your father been?]
The two sides were indeed old friends, but since his father had passed, there had been no further communication.
With many years gone by, the relationship had naturally faded, so Lu Li went straight to the point:
“My father often ntioned you, which is why I took the liberty of disturbing you.
I’ve inadvertently co across an ancient incense and would like to attempt at replicating it.
Could I trouble you to help find a professional institution, to analyze and determine its composition?
I am willing to pay $150,000 for the related expenses.”
[$150,000!]
The relationship had long since diminished, and Professor Qian was initially sowhat resistant to the request for a favor.
But hearing that last “150 thousand dollars”…
his interest was instantly piqued!
That’s equivalent to 1 million Yuan from Xia Country, not a small sum.
And Lu Li could casually offer it…
it showed the Lu Family father and son duo were doing quite well!
When you have value, others see you in a better light, and Qian Ping’s tone beca a bit gentler:
“Lu Li, my cell phone number is also my WeChat ID.
Add and send those incense photos.”
“Okay, I’ll send them right away.”
Lu Li quickly operated his device and sent the photos over.
Incense from the Spring and Autumn Period had been recorded, and the materials selected and the processing techniques strictly speaking could be considered a branch of traditional Chinese dicine.
As an expert in this field, Qian Ping confidently said after seeing the photos:
“The ancient thod incense, it’s mostly powdered dicinal herbs, that’s much simpler.
Send the item to the research institute, and we can have an accurate assessnt very quickly.”
“Then I’ll trouble Professor Qian about the finances…”
“It’s a small matter, no need for 150 thousand dollars.”
“Not at all.
It’s only proper to offer you, a Great Power in the industry, this amount.
Moreover, I’ll need mass production later on and require highly accurate testing, so please put in extra effort.”
“No problem…
then transfer the money to this Star Alliance Country account.”
The two exchanged polite remarks, and the matter was settled amicably.
Qian Ping wanted to chat a bit more and inquire about the current situation of Lu Li and his father.
Lu Li, however, preferred not to elaborate and said:
“Professor Qian, I’ve been incredibly busy lately, so if there’s any news, the one answering the phone might be my…
assistant.”
While they were talking, Jessica ca over smiling with a cup of coffee in her hand.
Qian Ping imdiately said: “Alright, I’ve got it.
Once the item is mailed over, it won’t take a few days to conduct the test.”
“Then I won’t disturb you further.
The money will be transferred to your account within an hour.
Goodbye.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After hanging up the phone, Lu Li took a long breath of relief.

Things went smoother than expected, now it was just a wait.

He wasn’t worried about the Calming Incense being discovered for its magical properties.

To ordinary people, this incense simply had an excellent calming and ditative effect.

But this was the selling point common to all incense on the market, even if used excessively or even swallowed, it wouldn’t be of any use.

Lu Li picked up the coffee and took a sip, reminding Jessica,

“In a couple of days, if there’s a phone call, help answer it.”

“Oh, okay~”

Jessica sat on Lu Li’s lap, wrapped her arms around his neck, and said:

“You’re finally back.

Let’s go to the amusent park; I’ve never been there~”

Lu Li thought for a mont.

The girl must have been bored staying at ho, and since he had to go out anyway, they might as well go out for so relaxation.

“Alright, let’s go.”

“Yeah~”

Jessica joyfully ran to the closet to change clothes.

She had bought a lot the last ti she went out, trying one piece after another against her body, asking for Lu Li’s opinion.

It took a while, but she finally chose one, then kneeled on the floor sticking out her bottom as she searched for shoes.

At this mont, the girl was only wearing a n’s T-shirt, her beauty blossoming unreservedly.

They were very close, and Lu Li unconsciously looked over.

After days in ditation, his gaze usually held nothing unusual.

But upon seeing sothing interesting, a trace of Spirit Power inadvertently escaped.

Jessica felt a touch and sprang up with a “Yikes,” covering her bottom and exclaiming.

She thought it was Lu Li and pouted, “Pervert~”

Lu Li felt quite wronged, but a flash of Spirit Light crossed his mind, and he suddenly rembered what Wanqing said before they parted:

“Such fine control of one’s Spirit Power…

so this is it…”

Realizing what was happening, Lu Li felt awkward; his gaze these past few days must’ve caused much trouble.

Then, he looked to the blushing Jessica and explained:

“Sorry, sorry, I didn’t an to…”

Jessica was not annoyed at all, instead clinging to his arm with a playful smile: “It’s okay, let’s hurry and go~”
