Kunlun Mirror With Dr.
Laila’s diation, the funeral ho’s vehicle soon arrived.
To avoid a long night filled with dreams, Lu Li sincerely thanked them and went with them at the first opportunity to cremate his father’s body.
By evening, when the residual sun was blood-red, the close relatives were tucked into a small box.
Lu Li held it close to his chest, silently returning ho in the sunset.
The streets were full of bullet holes and craters, with brown bloodstains congealing in the tracks of the tanks.
Lu Li sighed deeply, wanting to bring his father’s ashes back to his roots, but he wasn’t sure if he would survive…
Apart from the drug lord’s war, there were also the rciless Black Gang.
Heidi’s heavily tattooed son was a gang mber, who left with a sinister look, and Lu Li didn’t know what vile plans he harbored.
He was alone and disabled, how could he resist?
His thoughts in disorder, Lu Li’s steps were heavy as he unknowingly walked to the place bombed during the day.
At that mont, a delicate figure blocked his path—it was the beautiful girl he had helped earlier.
She was clearly mixed-race, with bright white skin, finely sculpted features, and big, sparkling eyes full of cleverness.
She imdiately stuffed a tattered cloth bag into Lu Li’s hand, excitedly saying,
“Thank you for saving my life, this is a token of my gratitude~”
The bag was heavy in Lu Li’s hand, and before he could react, the girl rapidly continued,
“It’s getting dark, I have to go.
My na is Jessica, goodbye Lu Li~”
With a wave, she ran off like a deer.
Lu Li, holding the bag, couldn’t help but laugh.
It seed that she had been waiting for him specifically, even until the sun had set.
After dark, even the main roads beca dangerous.
Without bothering to check what was in the bag, Lu Li hurried ho.
But encountering this grateful young girl made his steps much lighter.
~~~~~~~~~~
Finally making it ho before dark, Lu Li placed his father’s ashes by the bed, and then took out the contents of the bag.
First, he saw a bunch of miscellaneous items like small denominations of money, a lighter, and cigarettes.
These were probably belongings of Governnt Army soldiers, nothing surprising there.
But the last item was unexpected, heavy in his hand—it was actually a “copper mirror”!
The mirror was about the size of a dinner plate, ancient and elegant, its charm extraordinary, though marred by several damages.
All were signs of violent destruction, as if it had been on a battlefield.
“Did the girl raid an antique store?”
As a tourist city, Tijuana had many antique shops on the streets that fooled tourists, and Lu Li imdiately guessed the mirror’s origin.
Then, he felt engravings on the back of the mirror and turned it over to see two strange symbols that resembled the words “Kunlun.”
“Kunlun Mirror?”
His fingers traced over it as Lu Li softly read it out.
Was it an illusion?
As soon as he spoke, the mirror in his hand seed to vibrate?
But looking closely, he couldn’t find any movent.
“An illusion?”
Lu Li didn’t pay much attention, having had a tough day, it was normal to feel out of sorts.
However, the next second, when he held the mirror in front of his face, it reflected his image.
His features appeared slightly blurred, but his eyes were exceptionally clear, with determined brows and bright eyes!
At that mont, the ancient, battered copper mirror suddenly transford into a flash of golden light, shooting directly into Lu Li’s forehead!
Lu Li felt his entire forehead throbbing and hot, with sothing seemingly moving and glowing at his brow!
The abnormality lasted only a short ti, and his body quickly returned to normal.
But Lu Li’s expression didn’t ease at all; instead, he was stunned and overwhelmingly shocked!
What was supposedly the “Kunlun Mirror,” an ancient copper mirror, was now startlingly inside his own forehead!
No matter how you asure it, his own head couldn’t fit the object as big as a dinner plate.
But the “Kunlun Mirror” was clearly no ordinary item, as it entered his “Sea of Consciousness” in a magically ethereal form!
That was what the Daoists called the “Heavenly Eye,” and modern dicine referred to as the “pineal gland.”
The “pineal gland” was a term Lu Li had heard of more than once.
In all civilizations, this organ symbolized transcendent power!
Not only was it ntioned in Xia Country’s classic texts like “Huangting Neijing Sutra” and “Dao Shu.”
Even Western ancient scholars like Plato, Pythagoras, and Descartes had written with reverence about the pineal gland, calling it the throne of the soul!
Normally, after the age of eight, the pineal gland would calcify continually, eventually degenerating into a substance similar to dental enal, completely losing its function.
Now that the Kunlun Mirror had arrived in the Sea of Consciousness, it had reactivated this organ for Lu Li, essentially opening the Heavenly Eye!
The specific effects were not clear at the mont, as all of Lu Li’s attention was focused on the Kunlun Mirror.
The copper mirror seed to beco a part of his own body, and there was even a sense of being “connected by flesh and blood”!?
Lu Li could see, or rather “sense,” that the Kunlun Mirror was floating in his Sea of Consciousness like a baby returning to the womb, quietly nurturing.
“Truly magical!”
Lu Li took a deep breath, planning to delve deeper.
But just then, the basent room’s door was suddenly knocked on in a short and rhythmic manner.
A mocking voice ca from outside, “Is Snow White there?
I’m your good friend Toby~”
Lu Li was startled!
Toby was the jerk who had caused trouble in the hospital ward!
He had arrived so quickly, at such an inopportune ti!
“Snow White open the door, there’s a great job opportunity~”
There was a weird howl outside, and unbridled laughter erupted, seemingly from quite a number of people!
Toby was a mber of the Beheading Gang, and it seed he had called many of his gang fellows over.
These were not the kind of small-ti hooligans who fought and extorted back in his hotown; these were people who carried guns and dared to kill!
“My father has already been cremated, what the hell does this bastard want?
To force to be a drug mule?
Or to sell into a brothel…”
Lu Li knew well the tactics of the Black Gang; once caught, it would certainly be a fate worse than death.
At that mont, the door banged loudly and shook violently.
Clearly, Toby was getting impatient and had started kicking it forcefully.
Lu Li futilely grabbed a fruit knife and stared fixedly at the doorway.
Just when he was highly tense, the center of his forehead suddenly felt warm, as if an invisible eye had opened.
Imdiately after, Lu Li was able to see, through the door, four black-and-white human silhouettes…
it was Toby and his group!
“Is this a power brought by activating the ‘Sea of Consciousness’!?”
This ability was much like X-ray vision, yet Lu Li’s face showed no hint of joy.
The current situation couldn’t be resolved with just X-ray vision.
Especially since he had already seen one silhouette pulling sothing from their waist, aiming at the door lock!
Lu Li quickly threw himself towards the wall.
A second later, “bang bang,” two gunshots rang out, bullets piercing through the door.
One bullet burrowed into the wooden table in the middle of the room, sending wood chips flying; the other punched a large hole through the backpack on the table!
Lu Li pressed tightly against the wall corner, his face displaying fear, anger, and a strong sense of unwillingness!
“I haven’t even brought my father ho yet!”
At this dead-end mont, Lu Li, sensing the Kunlun Mirror in his Sea of Consciousness, ntally shouted:
“Do you have any useful functions?
Hurry up and use them!”
It seed to sense Lu Li’s strong will to survive, as two inscriptions appeared on the surface of the Kunlun Mirror: [Cross-border]
Imdiately after, the inscriptions twisted and stretched, transforming into an image—a neatly arranged city bustling with people, seemingly a civilized city?
Before Lu Li could see clearly, more gunshots ca…
the Beheading Gang had shot off the door lock!
Just as they burst through the door, Lu Li was enveloped in a blue light and disappeared along with the ancient mirror.
Only four big n covered in tattoos were left looking at each other…
Eyes had been kept on the place, and there were sounds inside the room, the target should have been here, how could it be empty???
