C5 – The Ability to Repair ridians

At the Jiaang Family Weapon Shop.

Since Mr. Jiaang had no interest in joining for a al, Wei Lulin found himself saving a considerable sum of money.

Noticing that Youth Jiaang was the only one present in the hall, Wei Lulin spoke up with ease, “Mr. Jiaang, do you happen to have any extra Spirit Locking Stones on you?”

“You’re looking to purchase a Spirit Locking Stone?” Youth Jiaang perked up at the ntion of the item, his eyebrows lifting as he questioned with a hint of skepticism.

Spirit Locking Stones were typically utilized by martial artists at the lower ranks of the Qi Refining Stage. High Rank Martial Artists looked down on them as unsuitable, and ordinary people had no use for them at all. Consequently, the practicality of Spirit Locking Stones was even less than that of money.

Wei Lulin was considered an oddity within the Wei family. He possessed the most formidable Cultivation Talent in all of Yao Country, yet his damaged ridians prevented him from cultivating. For him, the Spirit Locking Stone was as useless as a chicken rib.

“I’ve been in need of so Spirit Locking Stones lately. Mr. Jiaang, do you have any surplus?”

Youth Jiaang was a mber of the Jiaang family, one of the three prominent clans in Yao Country. Much like Wei Lulin, he was overlooked and undervalued. His Cultivation Talent was notably subpar, rely a middling Grade Ten, and his life’s greatest accomplishnt would likely be reaching the mid-stage of Qi Refining.

As such, Youth Jiaang lacked any ambition to cultivate, driven instead by the desires common to most people: wealth and the allure of the opposite sex, with a particular penchant for the latter.

Given the choice between gold coins and Spirit Locking Stones, Youth Jiaang would unhesitatingly opt for the money.

“You’re actually interested in buying the Spirit Locking Stones I have?” Youth Jiaang’s initial impatience transford into a gleam of excitent, though he seed sowhat incredulous.

The reason for his disbelief was that Wei Lulin, much like himself, had limited prospects. Youth Jiaang’s Cultivation Talent was ager, capped at a mid-Grade Ten, with no hope for significant achievents.

Wei Lulin, despite his High Level Grade Eight talent, had been rendered incapable of cultivating due to the residual effects of a battle between unparalleled masters, which damaged his ridians. Thus, he and Youth Jiaang shared a common need: money to ensure a decent quality of life.

Of course, that was just Youth Jiaang’s line of thinking. He was more than happy to sell the Spirit Locking Stones that were of little use to him. Why would he question a willing buyer?

“I’m looking to purchase so Spirit Locking Stones,” Wei Lulin confird with a nod.

“I have thirty Spirit Locking Stones. The market price for each is around eleven gold coins. You can have them for three hundred gold coins; consider it a discounted rate,” Youth Jiaang proposed after Wei Lulin’s affirmation, pausing to think before stating his price.

Three hundred gold coins!

Wei Lulin did so quick ntal math. The price Youth Jiaang offered was quite reasonable.

For a martial artist, items imbued with spiritual energy were paramount. Money was easy to co by, especially for High Rank Martial Artists who could earn hundreds or even thousands of gold coins by hunting just a few Magical Beasts.

The market rate for a Spirit Locking Stone was about twelve gold coins each. Youth Jiaang’s asking price of ten gold coins each was not steep at all.

“The price is quite fair,” Wei Lulin agreed with a nod.

He then continued with a hint of difficulty, “However, Mr. Jiaang, I currently only have a hundred gold coins on . I’m short by two hundred.”

Wei Lulin produced two thumb-thick, palm-length dicinal herbs resembling tiger whips from his pocket and said, “Mr. Jiaang, these are two Tiger Sun Herbs, each twenty years old. I don’t need to elaborate on their benefits; you’re well aware of them.”

“A single twenty-year-old Tiger Sun Herb is valued at nearly a hundred gold coins on the market. Two would be worth roughly two hundred gold coins. Along with the cash I have, would that suffice to exchange for the thirty Spirit Locking Stones you have?”

“Tiger Sun Herbs! And they’re twenty years old!” Youth Jiaang’s deanor changed dramatically upon seeing the herbs Wei Lulin presented. Without waiting for permission, he vaulted over the counter and snatched the two Tiger Sun Herbs from Wei Lulin’s hands.

“Lulin, I actually have thirty-five Spirit Locking Stones. I need to keep three for my cultivation practice. How about you take the remaining stones for a hundred gold coins and these two Tiger Sun Herbs? Does that work for you?”

Wei Lulin was elated to have unexpectedly co across two Spirit Locking Stones. He stood patiently in the hall, waiting for Youth Jiaang to retrieve them.

Nestled near the Endless Forest, Lindorin Town was a hub for an abundance of dicinal herbs, boasting nurous shops. Many of the shop assistants, much like Youth Jiaang, possessed limited Cultivation Talent, leading them to pursue desires of the flesh, fine food, or wealth. Wei Lulin understood this well, which bolstered his confidence in quickly amassing the necessary Spirit Locking Stones.

Yet, Wei Lulin’s current shortfall was in gold coins.

He had managed to save a hundred gold coins over the years. To gather a sufficient amount in a short span, he knew he would have to take decisive action.

Returning to his cottage with thirty-two Spirit Locking Stones, Wei Lulin wasted no ti and began replicating ridian Grass. Leveraging his past experience, he swiftly produced over a hundred plants. The high-quality Spirit Locking Stones he had traded with Youth Jiaang enabled him to replicate a total of one hundred and fifty ridian Grass.

Looking at the array of one hundred and fifty ridian Grass before him, Wei Lulin felt a surge of excitent. Once his emotions settled, he resud the delicate task of repairing his ridians.

It seed that Wei Lulin’s body had grown accustod to the pain from the ridian Grass. He had previously been able to consu only thirty plants per night, but now he could handle forty. Thus, in under four nights, he had used all one hundred and fifty ridian Grass. The once-damaged ridians in his body were now nearly half restored, and his frail physique had significantly strengthened.
