C29 – Wei Ying Was Shocked
The Dantian Cultivating Pill is a Grade Nine low-rank Pill, crafted from exceedingly precious ingredients and requiring an extrely complex thod of refinent. Even a Pill Master from the Wei family, who has achieved a high level of mastery, would likely only succeed in creating this pill two or three tis out of ten attempts.
Due to its rarity and value, the Wei family reserves the Dantian Cultivating Pill for those disciples with a Grade Eight Cultivation Talent, awarding it to them only when they break through to Level Three of the Qi Refining Stage to enhance their potential. After this, they won’t receive such a pill again.
For Wei Lulin, however, this scarcity isn’t an issue. With his copy-and-paste ability, he can produce as many Pills as he desires, provided he has enough Spirit Stones. Yet, duplicating a Grade Ten high-rank Vein Enhancing Pill requires nearly two Grade Ten Low Rank Spirit Stones. This leads to the question: How many Spirit Stones would be needed to duplicate a Grade Nine low-rank Dantian Cultivating Pill? Wei Lulin worries that he might not have enough Spirit Stones, which gives him a headache.
It’s clear that Wei Lulin must find a way to acquire more Spirit Stones. Relying solely on the annual allowance from his family would barely cover his basic cultivation needs, let alone spare any Spirit Stones for duplicating Pills.
Shaking off his concerns for the mont, Wei Lulin swallows the Qi Increasing Pill he’s been holding in his mouth and focuses on enhancing the Spiritual Force within his dantian. Having just broken through to Level Three of the Qi Refining Stage, his dantian is a barren space, devoid of any Spiritual Force.
The Qi Increasing Pill transforms into Spiritual Qi, flowing through his ridians and after being converted by the twelve ridian channels, it becos a reservoir of Spiritual Force in his dantian. Since this is Wei Lulin’s first ti using a Qi Increasing Pill, the effects are optimal, allowing the Spiritual Force in his dantian to reach 10%.
Wei Lulin gazes at the eight remaining Qi Increasing Pills in his hand, calculating that they are insufficient to fully charge his dantian with Spiritual Force. Consequently, he realizes he must use a Grade Nine Low Rank Spirit Stone to duplicate more Qi Increasing Pills.
Fortunately, the Qi Increasing Pill was a Grade Ten High Rank Pill, and one Grade Nine Low Rank Spirit Stone could replicate four of them. Excluding the one he consud, Wei Lulin now had eleven Qi Increasing Pills in his possession.
Each Qi Increasing Pill could enhance the Spiritual Force in his dantian by more than 10%. Theoretically, eleven pills should suffice to saturate his dantian with Spiritual Force.
However, Wei Lulin was not entirely confident. Drawing from his recent experience with the Vein Enhancing Pill, he had noticed a pattern. The efficacy of the first three pills was optimal. The subsequent three pills, however, were at least 30% less potent. If this trend continued, the effect of the seventh pill onward would diminish by half.
Moreover, as the Qi Increasing Pill was a Grade Ten pill, its potency was inherently lower. The more pills consud, the greater the reduction in effectiveness.
It was doubtful that eleven Qi Increasing Pills would be enough to completely fill his dantian with Spiritual Force. Nevertheless, Wei Lulin refrained from duplicating more Qi Increasing Pills.
Within the Wei family, the Low Rank Grade Ten Qi Increasing Pill was not particularly valuable. Given Wei Lulin’s current standing, he was entitled to five such pills annually. He also needed to allow his body ti to adapt to their properties. Thus, after consuming these pills, he would need to wait before he could take more Qi Increasing Pills.
Over the next period, Wei Lulin ingested the remaining eleven Qi Increasing Pills, which brought the Spiritual Force in his dantian to Level Seven. This left him deeply concerned about his future progress in cultivation.
For most, a single Qi Increasing Pill could fully charge their dantian with Spiritual Force, and so might even fortuitously advance to Qi Refining Stage Level Four. Yet, even with twelve Qi Increasing Pills, Wei Lulin had only managed to reach Level Seven, far from completion.
“Forget it, I’ll just take things as they co,” he thought. Unable to resolve the Spirit Stone dilemma, Wei Lulin had no choice but to temporarily set aside his concerns. With over ten Grade Nine Low Rank Spirit Stones still at his disposal, he should be able to sustain himself for so ti.
Having reinforced the Spiritual Force he gained from his breakthrough, Wei Lulin grabbed his steel blade and departed from the Cultivation Room.
Wei Lulin’s recent rapid advancent in cultivation, while not posing any imdiate risks, wasn’t ideal for his foundational strength. Consequently, he decided to slow down his progress and focus on reinforcing his foundation, supplenting his regin with blade technique practice to enhance his overall capabilities.
While Wei Lulin was honing his saber skills, a guard from the Silent Elegance Pavilion ca running over, urgently informing him, “Young Master Lulin, please hurry to the guest hall. The Eighth Elder has arrived!”
Hearing that Wei Ying had co in person, Wei Lulin promptly ceased his practice, respectfully handing his steel saber to the guard before heading to the pavilion’s guest hall.
”Eighth Uncle, what brings you here?” Wei Lulin greeted him, using the familial title that reflected their relative ages and ranks within the Wei family.
Previously, Wei Lulin had addressed Wei Ying as the Eighth Elder, a title befitting his forr lowly position as a re shop assistant with no standing to be familiar with Wei Ying. Any attempt to use such an intimate title then would have likely led to severe repercussions.
Now, with his elevated status, Wei Lulin was encouraged by Wei Ying himself to call him Eighth Uncle—a refusal to do so would displease Wei Ying.
“Lulin, you’ve been back for a while now. How are you settling in?” Wei Ying asked with a warm smile as Wei Lulin entered the hall.
Suddenly, Wei Ying’s expression turned to one of astonishnt, and he exclaid, “Lulin, you’ve advanced to the Qi Refining Stage Level Three!”
Wei Ying’s keen observation had detected the fluctuation in Wei Lulin’s aura, a result of his recent saber practice involving his Spiritual Force, revealing his true level of strength.
“Yes,” Wei Lulin confird with a nod, candidly sharing, “I achieved the breakthrough to the Qi Refining Stage Level Three two days ago.”
Wei Ying looked at Wei Lulin, montarily at a loss for words, yet internally he was profoundly astounded. Despite the fact that the initial phase of Qi Refining involves rely absorbing Heaven Earth Spiritual Energy, the constraints of one’s innate talent and ridians typically limit the continuous absorption of such energy.
After a period of absorbing spiritual energy, it’s essential to pause and allow the body and ridians to acclimate to the energy before continuing to absorb more and enhance one’s cultivation level.
Wei Lulin’s progress since returning to the Wei family has been nothing short of astounding. In just over ten days, he has advanced from the Qi Refining Stage Level Two to Level Three, a rate of progression that is truly astonishing.
What caught Wei Ying off guard was the powerful aura emanating from Wei Lulin, which he sensed inadvertently. It beca apparent that Wei Lulin’s aura, post-breakthrough, was significantly stronger than that of a typical warrior at the Qi Refining Stage Level Three, even verging on the strength of soone at Level Five.
Wei Ying was curious about the capacity of Wei Lulin’s dantian after his advancent to the Qi Refining Stage Level Three, but the dantian is a closely guarded secret among warriors, only accessible for inspection with the individual’s consent.
The Wei’s Book Pavilion houses a wealth of information on the dantian, generously and voluntarily left by the Wei family ancestors. This legacy provides invaluable guidance for the family’s future generations in their cultivation journeys.
