"They are trying to summon their grimoires!"

Randy’s shout obviously surprised everyone.

The leader of the bandit group growled and imdiately pulled out a huge halberd on his back.

Without a hint of hesitation, the bandit leader imdiately threw the halberd towards the carriage where Miguel and the others were located.

As if expecting such a thing to happen, Randy did not even waste a single second after his shout before he jumped away from the carriage, even leaving the Wind Horses behind without hesitation.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion ensued as the halberd smashed into the carriage. The two Wind Horses neighed in fright as one of them was even injured in the explosion. From this attack alone, it was apparent that this leader was not soone simple either.

Dust billowed as the leader moved forward with his horse, preparing to recover his weapon.

The leader snorted in dissatisfaction, "Hmmp! If only you followed my instructions, none of this would have happened-"

His words were cut short as the dust settled and revealed a perfectly fine bronze colored absolute shield.

Inside of it was Miguel who has a grimoire floating in front of him as well as the three boy summoners including Gasper.

The bronze colored shield was Miguel’s doing. The others still had their eyes closed, none of them were able to successfully summon their grimoire yet. The shield allowed them to continue what they were doing. Fortunately, the leader did not attack Erika and the girl’s carriage, else, sothing unexpected might have happened now.

As the leader saw the intact shield, he imdiately lost composure for a little bit. He did not expect that one of them would be able to summon their shield at the last mont.

However, it was just that and nothing else. Once the shield’s ti was up, it would be the ti that they would succumb to their demise.

However, sothing unexpected happened at the next mont. A whistling sound suddenly ca from his back.

The leader did not even turn as he imdiately jumped off the horse he was riding.

Boom!

An explosion ensued at where he was previously at. The leader managed to dodge but the horse was not fortunate enough to do so.

A burnt sll assaulted everyone’s nose. When the dust settled once more on that area, only a charred corpse of the horse could be seen.

The bandit leader traced the source of the attack and realized that it ca from Murphy’s carriage.

A smile surfaced on his face as he stated, "As expected of a Red Family genius."

At that mont, Erika finally erged from the carriage. Besides her floats a Bronze Grade Grimoire and a flaming red skull emitting a dangerous aura.

Her Innate Beast, a Level 4 Normal Grade Flaming Skull made its appearance.

She was considered a genius for a reason. The Flaming Skull was a very powerful combat-type elental spirit of the fire elent. It was this sa flaming skull that made her famous in her school, which even the geniuses noticed of her presence in her first year.

"How dare you ambush the Red Family!" She let out a bellow as she waved her hand aggressively.

The mont she did so, the Flaming Skull opened its mouth as its eyes glowed a sheen of red. Its mouth opened widely as another whistling sound echoed in everyone’s ears.

The next second, a fire beam shot out towards the bandit leader at extre speed.

Upon seeing the attack, the bandit leader rely smiled in disdain. He was able to avoid the sa attack earlier even when he was unaware of it, how much now that he had his eyes locked on her beast?

The bandit leader dodged the attack easily. He rolled to the side and even took the liberty to retrieve his halberd in a swift motion.

anwhile, as the battle between Erika and the bandit leader resud, Murphy had also dashed towards the corpse-pretending bandit earlier.

With Erika taking the lead, it was obvious that he must also do a thing of his own. He just would not sit there and wait passively for them to attack and take his life. It was because he valued his life that he was willing to risk it.

The girls behind him also erged one after the other, their eyes were red in nervousness as Bronze Grade Grimoires floated beside them. Each of them summoned their Innate Beast, no matter how useless they were during a battle, a beast was still a beast that normal people could only be afraid of.

On the other side, Gasper and the other boy had also finished summoning their grimoires with Gasper being a few seconds ahead of everyone else, just a few seconds after the whistle was heard.

Gasper glared at Randy as Miguel unsummoned his absolute shield to let everyone out.

"You bastard! Why did you betray us?"

Randy gritted his teeth but did not reply. Instead, he turned towards the other rcenary Wind Horse drivers and said, "We can stop pretending anymore and just go with the plan."

Hearing that, everyone imdiately realized that Randy had not betrayed them. He was not with them in the first place.

Gasper glared at him in anger and confusion, "What? How? Aren’t you personally hired by Erika?"

Randy shook his head and turned to look at Miguel and then at Gasper, "Nothing personal kid. This is just what I truly am. This is the real ."

The other rcenaries looked at each other and nodded their heads. They dropped their fake defensive stance as they turned towards those who did not originally belong to their bandit group.

"You guys are severely outnumbered. Actually there is no need to fight. We only want to capture Miss Erika and use her as bait. If you guys stop resisting, we can resolve this easily once our leader subdues her." Randy said.

"Hmmp! Hell no! You can only take my cousin over my dead body!"

The Fire Wolf who had been resurrected materialized in front of Gasper. The two other boys also summoned their respective beast one after the other.

Without waiting for Randy to defend himself, Gasper imdiately ordered his wolf to attack Randy with a fire cladded claw.
