Cyanid Volcano?
Miguel tilted his head upon hearing the place.
From what he recalled, it was the most famous destination for free rcenaries in Blazing City.
The place was dangerous, full of beasts, yet many would still frequent it due to high rewards.
As much as it was full of beasts and dangers, it was also full of natural treasures.
The Fla Fruit that the Twilight Twin collected might have co from there as well.
"Are you sure that it is an unexplored passage?" Miguel asked.
The twin nodded their head in unison.
"In truth, we only discovered it by chance. After we harvested one of the Fla Fruits we brought, we were chased by a powerful beast. Upon fleeing, we accidentally fell into a massive hole after the land we stepped on suddenly caved in. We discovered the passage under that hole," Luna explained truthfully.
Her voice was full of excitent and joy. Even Luna beside her also showed such expressio.
The discovery of the passage ant a lot of things for rcenaries like them.
There were a lot of cases where such passages lead to treasure troves.
They had been living ordinarily in Blazing City due to their luck. Encountering the passage this ti around made them feel that their luck had finally turned good and that it was now finally their ti to rise.
However, the two of them were still rational enough not to explore it on their own.
As much as there were potential treasures, the sa could be said toward potential dangers as well.
Both of them knew that they needed soone powerful to explore the passage together.
Their recent employer, the kind hearted and powerful ’Journey’, fit the description quite well. He was the first person that popped to their mind the mont they thought of soone strong and reliable.
However, Miguel thought for a few monts before shaking his head in refusal.
"I don’t plan on going on an adventure at this mont. I am currently busy with so matters," as the school was scheduled to reopen tomorrow, Miguel was invited to oversee so simple matters there.
Being a temporary instructor of the place, he must also be present during the first few weeks in order to ’teach’.
Aside from that, there were still a lot of books he had not read in the Red Family’s library. He doesn’t plan on going out soon unless he finishes all of them.
It was both precaution and his own desire. He did not want to explore the outside world while remaining ignorant to most common things.
Upon hearing his refusal, the twin’s expression imdiately fell rock bottom.
The two of them looked at each other and sighed deeply.
The two of them could sohow guess why he refused.
With the influence, power and wealth he currently has, why would he need to risk his life to obtain more riches in the wild with them?
In the end, the two of them did not insist for him to co.
They thought that they can just find another strong rcenary and divide the spoils after the end of the exploration.
Although searching for such rcenaries might beco tedious work due to their well-known reputation in Blazing City, they could only try.
After the twin left the villa, Aaliyah could and Edith could not help but ask why Miguel declined their invitation.
From what they could tell, it was apparent that he had always wanted to explore and seek new forms of knowledge.
The new passage discovered by the twin was screaming for new knowledge, yet, Miguel actually declined their invitation to explore together, hence, it baffled both of them.
"I would indeed love to explore that passage. However, I still lack a lot of fundantal knowledge. I am afraid that even if I encounter a treasure, I might miss it;s value due to my ignorance, hence, I could only decline for now."
"Besides, what we should focus on right now is to find information that can connect to the lines to the past."
Edith and Aaliyah nodded their heads in understanding. If Miguel said so, there was no need for them to persuade him otherwise.
Although Miguel was young in their eyes, he had always shown calmness and decisiveness in all of the situations that they were in. To them, Miguel gradually beca soone very dependable, and soone they could rely on. In terms of strength, he was even on par to the both of them even though they were his contracted beast.
The three of them made their way to the Red Family library.
This had beco their routine during the past few days.
After a few days of continuous reading, Migue and the two finally decided to move to the level 2 area or the second floor today.
Although they still had not consud all the knowledge in the first floor, Miguel thought what he read was enough for the ti being. What was left were just fiction books anyway, and the most important and popular books were already finished by him with his insane reading speed.
Inside the library, Miguel and the two ca to Carn and reported that they will now go to the second floor.
During these past few days, Carn had always stayed in the sa seat.
Although she was just an ordinary mortal, Miguel could not help but admire her desire to work everyday.
As always, it took her so ti to notice Miguel and the two’s presence.
She put down the book she was reading, adjusted her glasses and looked up to them.
After hearing their request, Carn nodded her head and began logging the new information to the booklet.
"You can co and go as you please on the second floor as well. However, since so books on the second floor are special, you must report to first if you want to borrow sothing. It is also prohibited for you to share so of the knowledge you gained in the upper floors to others."
"The sa thing applies to the upper floors due to the nature of the knowledge stored there," she added with a flat tone.
Miguel nodded his head and did not think too much about it.
mbers of the Red Family needed points to enter and read in the upper floors. It was only normal for them to put such a rule in order to stop the others from exploiting it. The points system would beco aningless if anyone can just simply share the knowledge to others.
Heading to the second floor, Miguel and the two imdiately noticed the two guards situated below the stairs.
As Miguel and the two had been here for a few days, the two guards already knew of his identity.
They did not put on airs and just bowed briefly before they allowed them to go upstairs without any hindrance.
Miguel was grateful that the people in this world was not as arrogant as those in the Immortal Cultivation World.
The people there, even the guards, would offend nobles and powerful cultivators due to groundless superiority and ignorance.
The mont they entered the second floor, Miguel and the two imdiately noticed the difference in atmosphere in the room.
Unlike the first floor that was full of people, Miguel and the two could only see a few dozen on the second floor.
This was actually normal as those who could enter the second floor were just people who had points.
Contrary to the first floor, the second and the upper floors do not have any reading tables. This was because mbers would need to pay points if they wanted to read a book here.
They can rent the books here after they find the book they wanted to read. Each book has a different price depending on their value.
Looking around, Miguel realized that the most important books were hidden behind so box. Their descriptions were provided outside, though, and those interested could request to the staff that they could be seen moving around the floor.
From what Miguel knew, the sa case applies to the upper floors.
In the end, Miguel decided to stroll around and note down the books that he was interested in reading.
Aaliyah and Edith also chose the books they were interested in.
In the hopes of obtaining information about their past, the two of them went to the inner area to search. Unfortunately, the sa as the first floor, they could not find any information about Aaliyah in this floor as well.
There was no ntion of the Lurenti’s as well, it was as though they had vanished from the history of this world.
However, they were not planning to give up just yet.
As per Miguel’s instruction, they strolled around and randomly picked so books as well.
This way, it would seem that they just truly wanted to read books, and were not particularly searching for information.
This was a precaution in case soone was monitoring them inside the Red Family’s library.
At the sa ti, it was also in line with the persona that Miguel had created for Journey- a person who ca out of seclusion and was now trying to gain new knowledge from the current era.
After noting down the books they wanted to read, Miguel and the two approached one of the staff.
Like the others, she was dressed with a simple uniform. Like the others, she also received wages in the form of points for working on the second floor. Like the others, she was also aware of Elder Journey’s identity as well.
She did not put on airs and calmly assisted Miguel, getting the book he wanted from the boxes as she noted them down on her own small booklet.
After taking forty books in total, Miguel finally went to a secluded corner and began reading.
Aaliyah and Edith soon followed a while later.
