The basent was pretty large and spacious.
In terms of area alone, it was already as big as the arena at the back of Adleric’s yard previously.
If he wanted to, he could also expand it even more.
Due to the nature of Edith being a martial artist, he especially allotted a lot of space for her to move and train around.
At this mont, Miguel and Edith faced each other a few ters apart.
Before they started, Miguel summoned the Scorching Water Tortoise first so that it could watch the battle and possibly learn so tricks.
Miguel ordered it to move to the side where Aaliyah and the Dark Veil Beast was located.
Upon seeing the arrival of this weaker beast, the Dark Veil Beast beca spirited almost imdiately. It hopped toward the Scorching Water Tortoise and after exchanging so ’words’, it jumped toward its back, settling there comfortably as they waited for the battle to comnce.
Miguel ignored its action as it doesn’t cause any harm to the Scorching Water Tortoise. This Dark Veil Beast was indeed a little smart. It actually managed to befriend his Scorching Water Tortoise in one try.
"Are you ready?" Miguel turned to look at Edith and asked with a gentle tone.
Edith nodded her head softly. Although she had years of experience in her previous life, she was still a little nervous facing Miguel in combat.
After all, even though she knew that Miguel was still young, he still had imnse knowledge, and abilities that even she was not aware of.
This was the reason why she was not confident in facing him head on, specially since they were now of the sa strength physically.
At this mont, they also decided to just spar in hand to hand combat.
She was more confident in her sword skills, but even with that, she was still not confident of being able to defeat Miguel.
There was this strange feeling that told her that she should not underestimate his skills in swordplay.
In her mind, Miguel had gradually beco unfathomable even though he was hundreds of years younger than her if counting her age in her previous life.
Miguel took a Gold Coin from his storage space and told Edith that they will start once the coin dropped to the ground.
Edith nodded her head solemnly.
Since this was only a spar, and a practice, there was no need for a judge and a winner.
Miguel tossed the coin up in the air. With his precise control, it almost reached the ceiling of the basent before it started to fall down to the ground.
Ding!
As the coin landed on the ground, Edith imdiately dashed toward Miguel.
Her speed was extrely fast. Even without using a skill, she was still able to arrive in front of Miguel in an instant. This showed how vast of a strength and speed difference they have compared to mortals.
Even Silver Grade would have trouble catching up to her movents, how much more if she used [Flash Step] to them.
Her foot stomped on the ground as she released a strong punch toward his face.
Knowing how strong Miguel was, she did not dare to hold back at all.
Miguel was calm as he dodged to the side. Edith’s fist brushed past his face by a small margin. If it was the others, they would surely think that Miguel barely dodged her attack.
However, Edith herself knew that Miguel was deliberately doing it this way. He was trying to dodge it with as little movents as possible.
This was how experts fight. Edith knew of this and was surprised that Miguel’s skills had already reached such a level. She was indeed right when she did not underestimate his martial skills.
After Miguel dodged her punch, Edith continued with her motion as she dropped to the ground. She used her hand to propel herself and sorsaulted, kicking him in the process.
Although she managed to hit him, she realized a mont later that Miguel actually blocked it precisely at the point where he would receive the least amount of shock.
His body also hopped along with the force, lowering it even more.
Edith followed suit and continued to barrage him with attack after attack.
Miguel would also either dodge or block her attack.
And as ti passed by, she realized that Miguel was dodging her attacks in less and less margin compared to before.
She realized that Miguel was constantly improving with each second that passed.
A smile rose through her face as she suddenly changed the trajectory of her attack at the last second.
Boom!
Her elbow finally struck his ribs.
Miguel’s eyes widened in surprise as he felt the slight pain on his ribs.
Edith caught her off guard and actually managed to land a hit on him.
It seems that he was not the only one that was constantly improving and adapting to their current strength bodies.
A smile rose through his face as well as he began to enjoy the spar.
At the next mont, Miguel started to hit back with equal force as well.
In the world of the strong and during a fight, there was no such thing as a woman and a man.
Everyone was an expert that must not be underestimated. It would be disrespectful to them if you treat them softly as well.
As the fight ensued, the onlookers imdiately realized who had the upper hand.
After the few minutes mark, the battle had already beco almost one sided.
Hit after hit, Edith got struck in different positions that she almost could not believe it.
She had a feeling that Miguel could easily see through her moves and counterattack in the best timing possible.
A few monts later, Edith dropped to the ground exhausted and full of sweat.
Miguel wiped the sweat forming around his face as he sat right beside Edith with a satisfied chuckle.
"Are you alright?"
Edith nodded her head with a smile.
Although she was exhausted and felt pain all over her body, like Miguel, she also had a satisfied smile on her face as she lay flat to the ground.
"We should do this more often," she stated.
Miguel nodded his head and agreed.
Sparring would indeed give them a lot of improvent without too much risk compared to fighting real opponents.
This way, they both could point at each other’s mistakes and correct it together.
With his hundreds of thousands of years of experience, Miguel has already perfect his combat senses.
Although cultivators mostly used spells, there was a period of ti where he mostly focused on martials arts and other thods, hence he was very proficient with it.
Aaliyah and the others ca closer toward them.
Although the spar was not flashy and destructive compared to what she witnessed during her peak, Aaliyah was still able to tell that it was much more high tier.
This was because Miguel and Edith’s skills in combat were unparalleled, and she herself was not confident in defeating either of them even with her destructive abilities. Their combat sense and reaction was simply unimaginable.
On the other hand, the Scorching Water Tortoise looked at the two of them in confusion. It wondered why they were fighting so seriously.
The Dark Veil Beast was scared after seeing the battle.
Compared to the Scorching Water Tortoise, it understood more and was able to gauge how powerful the attacks were.
It shivered in fright and was grateful that it was smart enough to surrender early.
It wiped the trepidation at the corner of its body as it patted the head of the unaware Scorching Water Tortoise.
The Scorching Water Tortoise tilted its head in confusion, not knowing why it was being patted, but it enjoyed the pat regardless. But it felt sad the next mont, as it realized that the pat did not co from its master.
A while later, Miguel used [Mystic nd] to heal Edith’s bruises and alleviate her of the pain she was feeling.
Although it may seem as though he was using a lot of strength, Miguel actually held back.
According to the information in the grimoire, he was already as strong as an Advance King Martial Artist. According to Edith, such a rank could already contend toe to toe with a Level 5 Gold Grade like her.
However, it was only at this mont that Miguel realized that his current strength was actually greater than that.
In his opinion, he should have no problem fighting with a martial artist of the next rank, and a much higher grade beast.
The spar allowed him to gauge his strength properly. With that, he would no longer underestimate or overestimate his strength compared to Martial Artists.
After healing Edith, they went to the upper floor and changed into a new set of clothes.
They returned to the basent a few monts later as Miguel dropped all the materials he had collected so far in the area near Aaliyah’s smithy.
Since everything was now more or less settled, it was now ti for her to do so work and upgrade their arsenal.
