Miguel suddenly recalled the matter regarding the Wingless Land Fire Dragon that they encountered more than a week ago.
According to the rcenary pretending bandits back then, the Wingless Land Fire Dragon was last seen in Cyanid Volcano at the northern part of Blazing City.
Back then, they were puzzled by how the Wingless Land Fire Dragon was able to get past a lot of cities and arrive at Red Stone City.
However, hearing Edith’s statent made Miguel realize that the Wingless Land Fire Dragon might have used one of the tunnels beneath the Red Cliff to arrive past Red Stone City silently.
At this ti, he still did not know why it had migrated. There should be a deeper reason for it.
According to the information he obtained from one of the books in Alderic’s library, Wild Gold Grade Beasts, especially the territorial ones, rarely leave their territory unless sothing happened that forced them to do so.
Miguel turned off the [Concealnt Barrier] and asked, "Vena, are demonized beasts still rampant around Red Cliff City these days?"
Due to her exemplary performance of being able to serve ’Journey’ well, Vena was also chosen by Alderic to escort everyone to Blazing City. She was also a strong warrior herself, so she was now assigned to drive the Wind Horse carriage that Miguel and Edith were riding.
"No. For so reason, they went silent three days ago. From what I heard, there were still a few of them lingering around, but they are slowly getting dealt with by the rcenaries."
At first, Miguel thought that since the demon heart was already killed by Edith, the demon beasts around Ghost Wail Mountain and Red Cliff City should have been exterminated together. However, so of them still appeared, so Miguel thought that there was another source nearby aside from the demon heart.
Since the demon heart—the source—had already died, even if the dead demonized beasts corrupted by it were consud by other beasts, they would no longer transform into demonized beasts this ti around due to the absence of the demonic miasma. This information was confird by Edith before as well.
That information led Miguel to guess that there was indeed another demonic source; the only question was where it was.
The new information provided by Edith just now made things even more complicated.
The existence of the tunnel-like structure underneath the Red Cliff ant that the demonic source could have been in a different place, and the demonized beasts just arrived here through there.
The existence of the Red Cliff tunnel, which spans who knows how long, also ant that theoretically, demonized beasts could actually appear anywhere they like, including Peach Village.
Worry began to appear in Miguel’s eyes as he thought of Sara’s well-being at this mont. The only thing that stopped him from going back was Erika’s words, which ca from Marcel’s reply.
As per the letter, she was indeed doing well after their departure.
Due to Miguel’s status as a summoner, no one dared to bully her anymore in the village; even Carlota seed to forget and not care about her existence. Marcel also promoted her to senior servant, and with that as an excuse, he arranged for Sara to live near the manor so as to better monitor her safety at all tis as well.
Miguel was relieved after thinking about that, but he still could not help but worry about the Red Cliff tunnel being there.
With his current strength, even if he went down there to investigate, he knew that it would not affect the situation that much.
In the end, he could only sigh as he decided to return to Peach Village earlier than planned at so point in the future.
The carriage went silent once more as Vena concentrated on the road ahead.
They passed by the Red Cliff peacefully, but Miguel and Edith talked about it inside the carriage with the [Concealnt Barrier] turned on.
Edith did not actually know much about the Red Cliff either. All she knew was the information she gathered upon tracing the demon back then, but she was truly convinced that there was no demonic source here when she investigated.
She did not know if sothing like that appeared after her death, though, so there was still a chance that a demonic source was at the bottom.
After a while, Miguel found the terrain familiar. Since they have been traveling for a few hours already, he told them to make a shortstop for now.
He went out of the carriage along with Edith as he directly walked towards the cave where he had previously found the magical plant.
In his hand was a small box where he stored the Spatial teorite. He had been carrying it around since a few days ago, as it was very precious.
Without caring for what the others were thinking about, his figure imdiately passed through the thick rock, separating the two spaces, as he appeared directly inside the secret compartnt where the magical plant was.
Unlike before, Miguel already knew the na of this magical plant. It was ntioned in one of the books in Alderic’s small library.
This magical plant was called Virasedant Fern. Like he guessed previously, this was an earth-attributed magical plant. Contrary to his earlier assumptions, though, this plant doesn’t have that many uses aside from being able to treat minor wounds in a few minutes if treated with its sap. Another thing that it was known for was that if fed into earth-attributed beasts, they would actually get highly energetic, and so even found that their skill usage would increase after consuming the sap of the Virasedant Fern.
Upon looking at it, Miguel realized that it had not matured enough yet. It only has five leaves at this mont, and only when its sixth leaf appeared would it be considered to be at the right age to be harvested. According to the book he read, a leaf would sprout every decade. Only when they sprouted the sixth leaf would the plant be considered mature enough to harvest.
Seeing that it could still not be harvested, Miguel did not linger in the area for long as he returned to the carriage along with Edith.
