Where there were creatures, there were conflicts.

Every world he has been through, even in his previous life, has always been like this.

Even when he had already reached the top of power, conflict and problems were still there.

No matter if it were in the world of the weak or in the world of those in great power, conflict has always been present since ti immorial.

He stood up and went outside the carriage to see what was going on.

Although he already has so information due to his [Divine Sense] seeing it with his own eyes was still another matter.

Edith followed right behind him as they saw the scene of the Red Devil’s taking out their weapons and extending them to an area in front.

The surroundings were vaguely illuminated by their lamps and the campfire, which has not been put down yet.

In the distance, multiple swooshing sounds were heard as traps were triggered one after the other in that particular direction in front of them.

The Red Devils looked at each other with vigilant eyes. They did not know what they were facing, but whatever it was, it should be pretty intelligent considering it was able to trigger their traps without getting caught.

A mont later, a vague humanoid silhouette finally ca into view.

Surprisingly enough, even more ca into their view a mont later.

Counting them with his [Divine Sense], Miguel realized that there were twenty-five of them in total.

So of them perched on a tree; so erged from the bushes, while the others ca into view openly.

They were humans dressed in tight black clothing that could easily reveal their gender.

Each of them was holding a short weapon as they stared at the group with great malice in their eyes.

"Would you like to introduce yourself?" Albert stated with a vigilant frown.

His right hand gripped his dagger tightly, ready to fight if anything went awry.

Unlike Miguel, they were unable to sense the malice contained within the eyes of these people in their tight black outfits.

At this ti, they were still hoping that no conflict would arise, that they could mind their own business, and that all of these were just misunderstandings. After all, who would want conflict, right?

The n and won in black outfits did not answer, though. They just stared at the group, their short weapons ready to strike at any mont’s notice.

Tension grew in the air as the Red Devils prepared themselves for a fight.

"Go to our backs and take cover." Seeing that a fight was inevitable, Albert ordered hastily towards Erika and the others.

However, a strange scene occurred at the next mont.

Instead of taking cover behind the Red Devils, Erika and the others instead dashed towards Miguel, whom they now call Mister Journey or Lord Journey.

The scene aroused surprise from the Red Devils as well as the people in black outfits.

One of them, the one in the middle and the first one to erge, finally stated with a hoarse voice, "It’s indeed them. That red-haired girl should be Erika, and the others should be the survivors."

"Kill them all as per the contract," he ordered with a calm voice, as though what he said was nothing too serious.

The mont his order was released, all the people wearing the tight black outfits imdiately moved and leaped towards them.

Albert and the other Red Devils were not able to ask Erika and the others what they were doing anymore, as they imdiately prepared for the attack.

Albert, in particular, sorsaulted backwards and evaded an attack as a grimoire materialized out of thin air in front of him.

Surprisingly enough, he was actually a Grimoire Summoner as well.

It was a Bronze Grade Grimoire that looked very tallic. From its color, Miguel guessed that it was an Advance Bronze Grade Grimoire.

The mont he landed, Albert imdiately summoned his contracted beast; it was a red tiger that looked very ferocious.

It materialized from a streak of light and imdiately let out a deafening roar, as though announcing its majestic entrance.

His other mbers were not to be outdone either. They each parried the attacks coming their way and counter-attacked flawlessly.

It seems that he was not lying when he said that they were one of the top rcenary groups in Red Cliff City, even though they only have a small number.

In fact, one of them actually took a bronze-colored Summoning Crystal and summoned a monkey out of it.

The monkey only materialized for a few seconds before it imdiately fused with the summoner.

The summoner’s body instantly beca hairy as he gained so characteristics of a monkey. He grew monkey ears and a monkey tail as his shoes fell off, while his foot transford, and he gained the ability to grasp and hold like a hand.

The mont he fully transford into a bigger version of his summon, he imdiately hopped towards the trees and continued to fight with the people wearing black outfits agilely.

anwhile, the summoner’s on Miguel’s end was also not idle.

They had already experienced their own real battle before and were no longer the rookies that they were.

Although they could still not summon their grimoire almost in an instant like what Albert did, they were still able to do it after a few minutes of summoning, including Gasper.

As usual, though, it was Erika who managed to summon her grimoire first.

Her contracted beast imdiately appeared with rage burning in its eyes. It was apparent that it was showing its master’s feelings at this given mont.

She was unwilling and full of grudges. She had been targeted ti and ti again. Do they think of her as too weak and that she could be easily bullied?

Hearing what their leader said made her indignant and angry.

With eyes burning with rage and great determination in her eyes, Erika ordered the skull to go forward and obliterate all the enemies in their way.

Gasper followed suit and ordered his Fire Wolf to attack from a distance.

The chaotic battle ensued as Miguel observed everything with a calm expression on his face, with Edith by his side.

"Should I interfere now or not?" He looked at Edith and asked genuinely.

Edith observed the situation before she shook her head and said, "Don’t pamper them too much. Let them grow on their own."

She looked at Miguel aningfully and stated with a smile underneath her mask, "Life is full of challenges and isn’t supposed to be easy, am I right?"
