Chapter 871: Chapter 871: My Older Sister Beca a Presidential Candidate
In the President Mansion, when Zhuo Yuwei received the news, his expression twisted.
His gaze imdiately fell upon Ning Yichen, his voice extrely sullen: “That Ning Ruixin… is your sister.”
Ning Yichen sighed: “That’s right.”
“She is the candidate from the Min Party.” Zhuo Yuwei sneered, “Don’t tell you just found out about this now.”
Ning Yichen smiled bitterly: “You may find it hard to believe, but I really just found out about it. My sister has been with the UN peacekeeping forces for the past few years, for over four years, and has only returned twice. I haven’t seen her for more than a year; the last ti we were in contact was two months ago. I truly don’t know what’s going on.”
Zhuo Yuwei looked at him coldly: “Don’t know? Ha!”
Clearly showing no belief in him at all.
Ning Yichen thought for a mont and seriously analyzed: “Sir, we previously identified several potential candidates, and we all thought the Min Party’s candidate would undoubtedly be one of them. But now, they’ve unexpectedly put forward Ning Ruixin… Is there so trickery involved here?”
“So trickery? You don’t know?” Zhuo Yuwei’s gaze was sharp as a knife.
Ning Yichen sighed again.
No wonder Zhuo Yuwei didn’t believe him at all. Siblings, and he doesn’t know his sister beca the Min Party’s presidential candidate… Even Ning Yichen himself found it unbelievable.
He and Zhuo Yuwei received the news simultaneously, and for a mont wondered if it was soone with the sa na.
But as things stand, it seems his role as Chief Secretary is coming to an end.
“Sir, I’m a Labour Party mber.” Ning Yichen said calmly, “Though Ning Ruixin and I are siblings, that doesn’t an our political stances are the sa.”
“Hmph, but you are siblings.” Zhuo Yuwei remained icy.
“Sir, if you cannot trust , then I fear I cannot stay by your side.” Ning Yichen smiled bitterly, “The election is about to start… It’s simply inappropriate for to remain by your side in any aspect. Of course, in my heart, I wish for your victory, but ultimately I am part of the Ning Family; I can’t just break away from my family.”
Zhuo Yuwei looked at him with deep eyes.
After a long while, he spoke lightly: “If you really publicly break away from your family, then you will belong to henceforth.”
The implication being, if Ning Yichen broke away from the Ning Family, Zhuo Yuwei would consider him trusted.
Ning Yichen smiled bitterly: “Sir, my relationship with my sister is just average, but my parents…”
Zhuo Yuwei snorted coldly again, waved his hand: “Leave.”
“Yes.” Ning Yichen said calmly, “Best of luck to you, sir.”
After speaking, Ning Yichen turned and left Zhuo Yuwei’s office.
Walking inside the President Mansion, he couldn’t help feeling a bit complex. From initially serving as Chu Jinyu’s Internal Affairs Officer, to later acting as Zhuo Yuwei’s Secretary, four years had passed, and he was used to coming and going here daily.
Leaving the President Mansion, Ning Yichen got into a car, not returning to his current residence but instructing the driver to head to the Ning Family’s old house.
He originally thought Ning Ruixin, being a candidate, would surely be busy attending team etings, but upon returning ho, he saw her punching a sandbag in the yard, wearing only a tank top.
Ning Ruixin’s figure was slender and well-proportioned, with smooth, firm muscle lines on her arms that weren’t exaggerated, still looking pleasant and appealing.
