Pei Yuanchen softly "tsked," picked up Xiaobao, and walked towards the living room, "It’s a long story... Is He Jingyao here?"

At dinner, Zhixi finally learned what Pei Yuanchen had been up to these past few days.
"Ran into a bit of trouble with business," Pei Yuanchen took a sip of wine and heaved a comfortable sigh, "I realized sothing was off, so I halted all transactions, and I’ve been busy with this matter these past few days."
Upon hearing this, He Jingyao’s expression slightly darkened, "They were targeting because your business was under my care, so they started focusing on you."
Pei Yuanchen’s expression turned sour, "No need to remind of that fact!"
"Such business was never ant to last, cleaning it up is for the best," He Jingyao remarked indifferently.
"Tsk, I think I should go back to Country S to lay low," he said lazily, "Plus, godfather can’t leave, and I must oversee things there."
"That’s probably best," Zhixi nodded, "When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow," he replied, having finished his al, "Let’s not talk about this anymore, I’m off to sleep. These last couple of days have worn out."
After saying that, he yawned and lazily made his way to his own room.
"Wait a second!" Zhixi couldn’t help but stop him, "Your room has been turned into a study, so..."
"You’re kidding? Not even a place to sleep? You’re a bit ruthless, aren’t you?" Pei Yuanchen looked at her, displeased.
Zhixi glanced at He Jingyao, seeking agreent.
The man slightly raised an eyebrow, "Go find a guest room next door."
Pei Yuanchen huffed and said nothing more, took the keys from Mr. Li, didn’t go through the front door, but rather ran to the backyard, climbing over the railing to the next-door property.
His movents were smooth, though his face contorted a bit as he lifted his leg over.
He Ziyi had been watching him with wide eyes, appearing thoughtful as she bit her lip.
"Brother, sister-in-law, I’ll go rest as well," He Ziyi suddenly stood up, politely saying goodbye to them.
As He Jingyao watched his sister leave through the front door, he suddenly realized, "The room Mr. Li prepared for Ziyi is also next door."
"Hmm..." Zhixi chuckled, "Don’t worry. To Pei Yuanchen, sleep is paramount. I bet he won’t even realize that Ziyi is under the sa roof."
He Jingyao snorted softly, reached out, and pinched her face, "You seem quite confident in his character."

Pei Yuanchen quickly found his room using the key Mr. Li had given him, pushed open the door, stripped off his clothes in no ti, and threw himself onto the bed, covering his head to go to sleep.
Before long, he heard soft footsteps in the room. Assuming it was the maid coming to give him toiletries, he rolled over and thought nothing of it, until his covers were completely pulled off.
"Damn it!" Pei Yuanchen felt a chill and imdiately erupted, "Who allowed you..."
Seeing He Ziyi’s exquisitely beautiful face, all his anger suddenly got stuck in his throat.
"I... I ca to apply dicine," Ziyi held up the dicinal plaster in her hand, her face serious, "I know the spot where you hit the easel must still hurt a lot."
