"Where’s Daddy?" the little guy pressed on.
Gu Zhixi paused for a mont, but did not answer the question. Instead, she kissed his little face, "Xiaobao, no matter what, you have to know that Mommy loves you."
"Mmm..." the little guy responded softly, while also casting a proud glance at He Jingyao.
Humph, Mommy really did love him the most.
He Jingyao silently curled the corners of his lips.
Even though he had long known that Xiaobao was his son, it wasn’t until he saw the woman hugging the little guy that he finally confird it.
She really had... quietly given birth to his child without a sound.
At this thought, he felt a surge of intense emotion welling up in his chest, darkening his gaze as it landed on Gu Zhixi’s back, imbued with a scorching intensity.

Gu Zhixi continued to hold Xiaobao, softly instructing him in sothing, to which the little guy obediently nodded his head.
"I really should go now..." She let out a slow breath, and even though she was reluctant to leave, she had to let go of the little guy in her embrace.
She needed to find a lawyer first, and then go to Wanhe Qianfeng Garden to pick up Xiaobao in the capacity of his birth mother. To face He Jingyao, she had to prepare thoroughly... Gu Zhixi thought this as she let go of the little guy and turned around.
Then, a tall and dark figure ca into her view.
The man stood at the door, his hands tucked into his coat pockets, his dark and deep eyes twinkling with specks of mirth, as if he understood, and yet it seed like mockery.
His lips curled into a faint, almost imperceptible smile, eting her eyes widened with shock. In a low voice he began, "Miss Gu."
Zhixi felt her heart pounding.
It was only when she ca back to her senses that she realized she had unconsciously sat down on the hospital bed, her hands tightened, assuming a defensive posture.
Actually, seeing him here wasn’t unexpected at all, was it?
It would have been unexpected not to see him.
She just didn’t know how much of her conversation with Xiaobao he had overheard... Gu Zhixi had thought she could at least gain so advantage, but now it seed she didn’t have even that bit of an edge.
She pursed her lips, her eyelashes trembling fiercely for a mont.
No matter what, he still addressed her as "Miss Gu," so...
"Mr. He, thank you for taking care of Xiaobao." She spoke hoarsely.
"So Xiaobao is your son." The man smiled faintly, "That really is a surprise."
"You flatter , Mr. He." Zhixi pursed her lips, a glimr of flas seeming to burn in the depths of her eyes, "Mr. He said that you would only release him if Xiaobao’s parents co for him in person. Now that I’m here, can you let take Xiaobao away?"
"Did Miss Gu not hear my words? Parents." His dark eyes conveyed a aningful depth, "But now, only Miss Gu has co alone. Where is the child’s father?"
Zhixi clenched her teeth, "Xiaobao doesn’t have a father!"
He Jingyao laughed, "Then, I cannot let you take him away."
Gu Zhixi took a deep breath to calm herself down.
She knew it wouldn’t be so easy!
Xiaobao stood on the bed, looking at his dad and then at his mom, confusedly scratching his head... What cryptic ga were dad and mom playing, and why couldn’t he understand a single word?
