The driver glanced in the rear-view mirror and shook his head, “I’m sorry, miss, we’re in the city; we can’t speed up enough.”
“It’s okay, just try to take a detour,” Gu Zhixi said as she pulled out her phone to call Pei Yuanchen.
After she finished speaking, Pei Yuanchen’s voice carried a hint of sarcasm, “Gu Zhixi, have you forgotten what you said ten minutes ago?”
Zhixi’s cheeks ward; just monts ago in the room, she had been adamant about not needing Pei Yuanchen’s help.
“I didn’t expect to run into her… The main thing is, I’m about to see Xiaobao. If she’s just following , then that’s fine. But what if she discovers Xiaobao’s existence and causes trouble?” Zhixi explained.
When it ca to her son, she couldn’t afford to be careless.
Pei Yuanchen lazily replied, “That’s more like it. Wait for .”

Zhixi breathed a sigh of relief. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the Ferrari that had been shadowing her was stopped by a traffic cop and completely disappeared from her view.

“Where does it hurt? Did you catch a cold or have a fever?” she asked tenderly, pressing her cheek and forehead against her son’s, “I’m sorry, it’s all Mommy’s fault, I shouldn’t have left you alone.”
The little boy hugged her neck. He had been feeling upset and aggrieved, but seeing his mom more heartbroken and guilt-ridden, all his grievances popped and vanished like bubbles.
