This voice...

Zhixi was montarily bewildered, before her entire body froze in place!

The man, as if bathed in the morning light, slowly walked towards her.

Zhixi felt her heart begin to race. She knew she should turn around and leave imdiately, pretending she hadn’t seen him, but despite her best efforts, she couldn’t move a step.

Thus, she could only watch helplessly as the man ca to a stop in front of her.

Dressed in a crisp suit, he appeared even more slender and upright, his handso features accentuated, a profound charm coming over her that was almost unbearable.

Compared to four years ago, the man’s deanor had beco calm and restrained. His eyes, always hinting at a smile, were now inscrutable and bottomless.

Zhixi’s nose tingled, and she instinctively avoided his gaze, struggling to keep her voice steady, "You are..."

"So Miss Gu has forgotten ." He curved his lips, yet his eyes held no hint of a smile, "We just t last night, hmm?"

Zhixi instinctively stepped back, her eyelashes trembling violently, "It turns out to be... Mr. He."

He chuckled ambiguously, "Yes, it’s ."

After speaking, he glanced at the sales manager standing nearby who, as if waking from a dream, dared not greet them and hurriedly left with his assistant.

To sell her the house, the manager had earlier deliberately opened both the front and back doors, leaving the spacious living room empty and unobstructed, except for the two of them.

Zhixi bit her lip, at a loss, when the man suddenly reached out and precisely grasped her chin.

She almost jumped in surprise, "You..."

But he forcefully lifted her chin, his other hand encircling her shoulder, keeping her from moving.

"Mr. He, what are you doing!" she exclaid, anger mixed with panic, her eyes filled with turmoil and vulnerability.

The man said nothing, but pressed his lips together, gazing deeply at her.

Or rather, sizing her up.

Starting from her hairline, to her eyes, nose, and then her mouth... He watched her intensely.

Zhixi couldn’t calm down; she was so nervous that her entire body trembled lightly, her nostrils flaring, her lower lip turning pale from her biting it... The familiar yet strange scent enveloped her, nearly robbing her of her ability to think.

After a long while, He Jingyao suddenly chuckled hoarsely, "Miss Gu resembles my wife a great deal."

Wife...

Upon hearing these two words, Zhixi’s tears almost spilled over.

"Is... is that so?" She replied instinctively.

"Yes." His fingertips gently caressed her face, his husky voice seemingly full of emotion, "Sadly, she has already died."

Zhixi’s breath caught.

"So seeing you, Miss Gu, I was surprised; it’s astonishing to find two people in the world so alike." He chuckled softly, slowly releasing her, "I apologize for being presumptuous."

"It’s... it’s okay." She lowered her eyes, "I... resembling your wife, it’s an honor."

He Jingyao chuckled again, his voice tinged with a hint of ambiguity, "Miss Gu speaking like this, I might misunderstand."

Gu Zhixi’s face flushed, "I didn’t an that... Sorry, I have other matters to attend to, please excuse ."

After speaking, she turned and walked away.

She was ultimately helpless, besides fleeing in panic, utterly powerless to resist, the voice in her head constantly clamoring almost driving her mad.
