The next day.

Ning Yichen arrived at the State Guesthouse early in the morning.

This guesthouse, specially designed for receiving foreign guests, was understated in its decoration but ticulous in every detail, striving to make guests feel at ho. Over the years, Ning Yichen had hosted nurous foreign guests here and was well acquainted with the protocols.

Because he spoke elegantly and had a handso appearance, so of the foreign guests’ daughters would often make flirtatious advances at him. Since they held special identities, he could not directly reject them, which often made dealing with them quite a headache. He hoped that today’s Duke Leslie’s daughter would be a lady of proper manners.

While Ning Yichen was thinking this, he followed the lady-in-waiting’s steps to the suite where the duke’s family was staying.

He knocked on the door, but strangely, a clattering noise ca from inside. It took quite so ti before the door finally opened.

"Is it Mr. Ning?" The door was opened by a butler temporarily arranged for the duke’s family. She smiled apologetically, "Miss Leslie isn’t ready yet; please wait a mont."

Ning Yichen smiled, his grace impeccable, "No problem."

Right, the duke’s daughter’s surna was Leslie. It was said that she had Chinese ancestry?

He quickly glanced around the living room and indeed it was in disarray, with all kinds of toys strewn about the floor—it was obviously a child’s play area... Could it be that Miss Leslie had a youthful spirit? Or perhaps, did the duke have other children?

It seed that the information provided did not ntion this.

Ning Yichen couldn’t help but frown. Not understanding the situation ant that his job would be much more difficult. The duke was also peculiar for providing very limited information.

After more than ten minutes, the door to the master bedroom finally opened, and a slender, graceful woman walked out.

She was dressed in a simple white sweater and khaki skirt, looking sowhat disheveled. Her hair was carelessly grabbed in her hand, her bare feet on the carpet, and she hurried over to him.

"Is it... Mr. Ning? I apologize, there was a bit of a situation here," she said in a low, lodic voice tinged with a husky note, carrying a uniquely sensual charm.

Ning Yichen smiled and was about to say it wasn’t a problem when he looked closely and was struck as if by lightning!

"Zhixi?" he muttered involuntarily.

A trace of panic seed to flit across the woman’s eyes, then, puzzled, she asked, "What did you say?"

Ning Yichen opened his mouth, his heart pounding, but he found he couldn’t utter a word.

The woman before him was very beautiful, with delicate features and an unadorned face that nonetheless exuded an indescribable charm.

At first glance, she was almost identical to Su Zixi.

But there was sothing different... Yes, their eyes were different. Zhixi’s were typical almond-shaped, bright, and round, but this woman’s eyes were slightly longer, giving her a very gentle and charming appearance.

Her nose also seed more refined and prominent.

Ning Yichen couldn’t believe it. After so many years, Su Zixi’s image was still so clear in his mind, clear enough that he could quickly discern the differences between the woman before him and Zhixi.

He forced himself to calm down and managed a smile, "I’m sorry, you... you look very much like a friend of mine."

The woman paused for a brief mont, then smiled, "I see, I take that as a complint."

Ning Yichen was sowhat distracted as he humd in acknowledgnt, the composure and elegance of the Chief Secretary seemingly vanishing completely.
