Su Zixi stood quietly at the door, holding a beautifully wrapped box in her arms. It contained the cookies she tried baking today; she had chosen the prettiest and most successful batch to pack and had co to find He Jingyao, ready to surprise him.
But now, she had already been standing at the door for a good ten minutes, with no intention to go inside.
Adam, who was a distance away from the entrance, hadn’t heard the conversation inside clearly, but Su Zixi’s pale and cold expression made him feel unease at the bottom of his heart.
Just as he was about to ask, Su Zixi suddenly approached him.
“Adam.” She smiled as usual, “I have sothing I need to go back for right away, could you please not tell Jingyao I was here?”

“Young Mistress, what happened?” Adam asked, pushing up his glasses with concern.
