Chapter 492: Chapter 492: How Fortunate to et You
Su Zixi pursed her lips and opened her eyes to look at him, “Jingyao, do you really not think… I’m very useless…?”
The events of tonight had indeed dealt her a significant blow.
The most frustrating thing for her was that she didn’t even know where she went wrong.
Perhaps… the fundantal reason was that she simply didn’t belong to this class.
If she were just Su Zixi, she wouldn’t have qualified to enter the President Mansion; it was the identity of Young Mistress He that allowed her in.
Even though there was such a distance between her and He Jingyao, he never felt anything was wrong, and was always consistently good to her.
If it had been in the past when she was the only one, then it would be fine, but now he clearly had better options.
Su Zixi knew very well that she… genuinely wasn’t that great.
He Jingyao gazed at her slightly defeated little face, his eyes dark and soft.
He gently stroked her cheek, “Zhixi, do you know? Before you ca along, I wasn’t like this.”
Su Zixi curiously lifted her head.
“You always say that I bring you a lot, but you do the sa for ,” the man chuckled softly, “Without you, I would have to sleep alone every night. Think about it, isn’t that pitiful?”
Su Zixi couldn’t help but let out a giggle, though her eyes turned slightly red.
“You’re my wife, not my subordinate,” he pinched her face, “So I don’t need you to worry about work. You just need to do what you want to do, I believe in your ability… and if one day I beco a pauper, I plan to rely on you to support .”
“Hey…” Su Zixi rubbed against his chest sulkily.
What pauper? That’s just impossible, right? Even his way of comforting her was so… unique.
“Hmm?” He narrowed his eyes threateningly, “Are you saying that if I beco a pauper, you’re going to abandon ?”
“Of course not!” Su Zixi was a bit exasperated and amused, “I’ll support you, no matter what you turn into, I want you!”
“That puts my mind at ease…” He seed to sigh in relief, nibbling on her ear, “Aren’t you sleepy yet? How about…”
“I’m sleepy, sleepy!” Su Zixi quickly closed her eyes, obediently nestling in his chest without moving.
He Jingyao laughed softly, pulled up the blanket, and covered her with it.
This ti, however, Su Zixi didn’t fall asleep as quickly as she used to.
She quietly held tight to the man, fighting back the tears welling up in her eyes.
How fortunate I am, to have t you.
******
Su Zixi tossed and turned with restless thoughts for a long while before she fell asleep; by the ti she woke up, it was already broad daylight.
She opened her eyes to find that there was no one beside her.
Su Zixi got out of bed, took a bath, dressed, and went downstairs, just in ti to see He Jingyao returning from outside.
His steps were brisk, his trench coat rustling in the wind. Seeing her, the man imdiately smiled, but there was sothing… peculiar about that smile.
Su Zixi, still not fully awake, gazed bewildered at his smiling handso face.
“Just woke up?” He smiled and pulled her into his arms, “I have so good news for you. This morning I t with the President and we’ve preliminarily sealed the deal on this project.”
Su Zixi’s eyes widened in shock, “That was fast! You’re amazing!”
So it really was just a trivial matter for him, Su Zixi thought with mixed emotions.
“It’s not who’s amazing, it’s you,” He Jingyao pinched her cheek, “The President said that this was to repay a debt of gratitude to the President’s wife on your behalf.”
